O artigo examina as mudanças recentes nos mundos artÃsticos a partir das caracterÃsticas do mercado de arte global e suas implicações para as teorias sociológicas das artes. Para isto, focaliza a correlação estabelecida entre o declÃnio das vanguardas artÃsticas e os modos como se fazem tênues as fronteiras entre alta cultura e cultura popular. Nesse sentido, discute e analisa a influência exercida, cada vez mais, por atores localizados em paÃses como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Alemanha, França e, mais recentemente, China. Conclui a respeito do quanto o mercado global de arte pode ser ilustrativo dos processos em que a globalização dos mercados expande a desigualdade econômica e cultural, favorecendo o privilégio de pequenos segmentos sociais no mundo contemporâneo.  
Case Studies in the Classroom: Assessing a Pilot Information Literacy Curriculum for English Composition
Purpose
This mixed-methods study assesses a pilot library curriculum in a general education English composition course. Case-based learning (CBL), a form of problem-based learning (PBL), was used to scaffold information literacy skills and concepts across sessions. This article explores the approach\u27s impact on student learning and engagement. Design/methodology/approach
Participants were enrolled in four sections of an undergraduate composition course. Two sections were taught with the CBL library curriculum, and two with the standard library curriculum as a control. Pretest/posttest surveys included quantitative and qualitative measures to assess students in several areas of information literacy. Weekly reflections from a subsample of students were analyzed, and the research team conducted structured classroom observations and teaching reflections. Findings
Quantitative survey results did not support the hypotheses that the CBL curriculum would increase students\u27 confidence and skill levels compared to their control section peers. Although there was no significant difference between sections in measured information literacy outcomes, students generally agreed that the case studies used in the CBL curriculum taught skills applicable to their research. Teaching observation data revealed the cohesion of the curriculum across library sessions and increased student engagement in classroom activities. However, some of the case studies could be improved, and some limitations in study design point to the need for further research. Originality/value
This study addresses a gap in the literature through a mixed-methods assessment of CBL pedagogy using a control group, contributing to an understanding of the role of PBL pedagogies in information literacy curricula
Reporting community involvement in autism research:Findings from the journal Autism
Participatory methods are having sweeping effects on research across the globe. To facilitate transparency around these methods, Autism introduced mandatory reporting of community involvement in January 2021. Here, we sought to determine the impact of this policy. To do so, we—a team of Autistic and non-autistic researchers—searched for articles published in Autism in 2019, two years before policy implementation, and in 2022, one year after. We read 283 eligible articles and double coded each article for general information and details of community involvement. We found a fivefold increase (10.3% pre-implementation vs. 54.5% post-implementation) in the reporting of community involvement. Most articles reported involving community members distally, in consulting roles, with researchers retaining full decision-making power. Furthermore, most community involvement was reported in more applied than basic research. A significant minority of papers (17%), however, could not be coded, owing to insufficient or vague information. While this increase in the reporting of community involvement is encouraging, more efforts need to be directed towards (i) improving the transparency in the reporting of community involvement and (ii) increasing the frequency with which community members, especially Autistic people, share decision-making power equally with researchers—or even assume control of the research process

In order to assess the implications of globalization for national cultural policies, it is necessary, firstly, to understand the nature of cultural globalization. What types of theories can be used to understand cultural globalization? Can cultural globalization be conceptualized as a form of cultural imperialism? If not, how can cultural globalization be understood? To what extent can cultural policies be used to control the impact of global cultures on national cultures? These are some of the questions that this article attempts to answer.Pour évaluer les implications de la mondialisation dans le politiques culturelles nationales il faut comprendre la nature de cette mondialisation. Quels types de théorie pourraient être utilisées pour la compréhension de la mondialisation culturelie? Est-ce que la mondialisation pourrait-elle être comprise comme uneforme d ’imperialisme culturel ? Dans le cas contraire comment pourrait-elle alors être comprise? Dans quelle mesure les politiques culturelles pourraient être utilisées afin de contrôler I’impact des cultures cultures globales sur cultures nationales?
