Treball desenvolupat dins el marc del programa 'European Project Semester'.The purpose of this paper is to explain the design process of an interactive material library in detail and show the methods that were used during the project to reach our goal. Research and tests show that material libraries have a great importance in design processes; this is because of they knowledge they bring to creators to enhance the performance, aesthetics and sustainability of their projects. Our team was able to develop an eye-catching, accessible, interactive library that accommodates three design aspects which were established at the beginning stages in the project; the physical library at the University of Antwerp’s campus, a digital database and a complementary app. All of our objectives were accomplished by systemizing each phase starting from the business canvas, to brainstorming, to designing with the requirement in mind, which was to create an Interactive Material Library; by this means, MAT 94 was created

This project tries to contribute part of an innovative machine to the food sector that adds to the development of 3D printing technology in this area. Specifically, the extruder mechanism is developed will allow the extrusion food paste. This mechanism is based on the Spiralift or helical cylinder operation, which is a lifting mechanism that consists of a strap and a spring that fit together and create a very resistant structure to compression that, when rolled, creates a cylinder. For the development of the extruder assembly, it has been adapted to simplify operation. First, the plunger which pushes the food material is driven by the strap as it coils and creates the cylinder. In this case, the strap is made from a polypropylene sheet laser cut in the shape of a Dovetail. This shape allows that, when the strap is wound, the profiles are fixed together without the need for a spring like the conventional Spiralift mechanism incorporates

[EN] This project originated from the need to develop a material library that allows students to explore all characteristics of materials, ranging from plastics to metals, ceramics, woods, natural materials, and sustainable materials that originate from recycles and biological resources. Design of an interactive material lab or library that fulfils the following needs: Inspire design students Mix the digital and physical world to achieve a higher level of interaction Use VR or AR to extend the limits of the physical environment Library as a lab and lab as a library: allow students to interact with materials instead of only creating a library as a meeting place to become inspired Work as an independent, not supervised area that maintains itself or is maintained by its visitors Evoke new explorations and testing Fit in the new building which is under construction at the Paardenmarkt For the team, it is necessary to: Analyse the possibilities of the new lab and become inspired by existing environments and the plans of the new building of the Paardenmarkt Explore opportunities of AR and VR to enrich our knowledge and inspiration Design the organization of the material lab/library, in both the physical as well as digital world Develop a masterplan for implementation.Zandecki Carranza, A.; García Garza, A.; Comas Turró, J.
