Bruchidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) of the Galapagos Islands with new host and locality records, new synonyms, and descriptions of two new species

Records and descriptions are given for the 10 known species in six genera of Bruchidae from the Archipelago including Sennius falcatus New Species and Acanthoscelides rossi New Species. Amblycerus (Spermophagus) insulamm (Blair) is synonymized with Amblycems piurae (Pierce), New Synonymy. Five of the species herein treated are new records for the Archipelago, and 8 of the 10 are also known from mainland South America, principally Ecuador

A New \u3ci\u3eHolcocera\u3c/i\u3e Clemens, 1863 (Lepidoptera: Coleophoridae) Associated with Leguminous Plants from the Brazilian Cerrado

Holcocera cerradicola, n. sp., is described from the Brazilian cerrado in Parana´ . Adults were obtained from field-collected larvae from fruits of two leguminous plant species, Bauhinia holophylla Steud (Caesalpinioideae) and Stryphnodendron adstringens (Mart.) Coville (Mimosoideae). These observations represent the first documented association between Holcocerini and Leguminosae. A new South American Amblycerus Thunberg, A. sosia is described and illustrated. Geographic distribution and comments about related species are also presented. A lectotype is designated for A. centralis (Sharp, 1885) = A. cistelinus (Gyllenhal, 1833)

SARS-CoV-2 reinfection caused by the P.1 lineage in Araraquara city, Sao Paulo State, Brazil

Reinfection by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-COV-2) has been reported in many countries, suggesting that the virus may continue to circulate among humans despite the possibility of local herd immunity due to massive previous infections. The emergence of variants of concern (VOC) that are more transmissible than the previous circulating ones has raised particular concerns on the vaccines effectiveness and reinfection rates. The P.1 lineage was first identified in December 2020 in Manaus city and is now globally spread. We report the first case of reinfection of SARS-CoV-2 caused by the P.1 variant outside of Manaus. The potential of these new variants to escape naturally and vaccine- induced immunity highlights the need for a global vigilance
