Boundary detection of optic disk by a modiÿed ASM method
Abstract A new algorithm to automatically detect the boundary of optic disk in color fundus images is proposed. The optic disk is located by principal component analysis (PCA) based model, which is employed to initialize active shape model (ASM) to detect the disk boundary. ASM is modiÿed with two aspects: one is the self-adjusting weight in the transformation from shape space to image space; the other is exclusion of outlying points in obtaining shape parameters. The modiÿcations make the proposed algorithm more robust and converge faster than the original ASM method, especially in the case where the edge of optic disk is weak or occluded by blood vessels.
A remotely controlled vision inspection/identification system in the computer integrated manufacturing environment
153 p.This project report describes the main contribution and results of work done on a visionbased identification problem as a part of CIM system. The system is configured in a local area network that implements compact and reliable peer-to-peer communication protocol based on NetBIOS that is simulated upon Netware's IPX protocol. This is made possible at a minimum cost by successfully identifying and extracting only essential files from the commercially available Novell Netware basic package. These are data link and network layer protocol routines that are sufficient for the user application programs to be developed upon. The implementation has led to a more compact, time-efficient communication protocol suitable for control applications without some constraints like the number of users that were imposed on the original licenced software.RP 32/8
