Kulttuurien välinen emansipaation teologia : Paul S. Chungin postmoderni Luther-tulkinta

Martin Lutherin teologiaa on käsitelty laajasti viimeaikaisessa ekumeenisessa keskustelussa. Kansainvälisesti on noussut esiin tarve määritellä Lutherin merkitystä postmodernissa globaalissa kontekstissa. Tutkielmani käsittelee Paul S. Chungin aasialaista Luther-tulkintaa. Chung ottaa käsittelyyn monia suomalaisen Luther-tutkimuksenkin käsittelemiä teemoja, kuten Lutherin ristin teologian, triniteetin ja vanhurskauttamisen teologian. Teemoja kontekstualisoidaan postmoderniin kulttuurikontekstiin. Niitä tuodaan myös dialogiin aasialaisen uskontoperinteen, erityisesti buddhalaisuuden kanssa. Keskeinen vuoropuhelun aihe on buddhalainen käsitys kärsimyksestä, dukkha ja sen vertailu Lutherin ristin teologiaan. Tutkielmassa Chungin teologiaa lähestytään tutkielmassa neljän kysymyksen kautta: (1) Mitkä ovat Chungin teologian lähtökohdat ja edellytykset? (2) Mitä Lutherin teologian osa-alueita Chung pitää keskeisinä uskontojen välisen dialogin kannalta? (3) Miten Chung syventää näitä teemoja aasialaisen uskontoperinteen ja viisauden avulla? (4) Mitä uudistustoiveita Chungin Luther-tulkinta asettaa ekklesiologialle sekä käsityksille kirkon missiosta ja diakoniasta? Keskeinen tutkimustulokseni on, että Chung johtaa Lutherin teologiasta perusteen määritellä kirkko diakonisen opetuslapseuden pohjalta. Lutherin ristin teologia on avain, jonka kautta kristittyä ja teologiaa kutsutaan avoimuuteen erilaisuutta kohtaan ja solidaarisuuteen kärsiviä lähimmäisiä kohtaan. Chungin teologiassa Lutherin vanhurskauttamisen käsite saa myös maanpäällisen oikeudenmukaisuuden merkityksiä. Teologian tulee pyrkiä kriittiseen itsereflektioon suhteessa menneisyyteen ja nykypäivään ja etsiä rekonsiliaatiota suhteessa kolonalismin ja modernismin kielteisiin seurausvaikutuksiin. Diakonian ja mission kontekstiksi tulee Chungin teologiassa globalisaatio ja monikulttuurisuus. Diakonian ja mission uudelleenmäärittelyssään Chung ehdottaa myös uskontojen välistä dialogia yhdeksi niiden osa-alueeksi. Chung nojautuu Barthin epäsäännöllisen dogmatiikkaan ja Bonhoefferin solidaarisuuskristologiaan teologiaan etsiessään uskontoteologian mallia, jossa on avoimuutta köyhyyden todellisuuden ja uskonnollisen erilaisuuden ymmärtämiselle. Price Discrimination between Retailers with and without Market Power

Some retail markets are more competitive than others. A manufacturer with market power in the wholesale market who sells his product to competing retailers in cities and monopolistic ones in each of various towns must set the wholesale price difference between towns and cities to be smaller than the transportation cost to prevent “grey market” arbitrage. If he uses linear pricing, the town retail price will be even higher than under single-retailer double marginalization. Two-part tariffs do not solve the problem as they would if there were a single retailer, because the wholesale unit price must be higher than marginal cost to prevent arbitrage to the cities. If transportation costs are low, price discrimination is difficult and two- part tariffs come to resemble inefficient linear monopoly pricing. Applying Economic Instruments in Developing Countries: From Theory to Implementation

This paper proceeds as follows: in the next section we briefly review the experience with the implementation of economic instruments in both OECD countries and developing countries. The types of instruments considered are: pollution taxes/charges, product taxes/charges, deposit-refund schemes, and tradable permits. Also, the related practices of earmarking revenues from EIs and creating specialised environmental funds are considered. In section 3, a general framework is presented for evaluating alternative instruments in terms of their ease of implementation, and in the final section some suggestions are advanced for addressing the more common implementation problems. The question of how environmental policy affects competitiveness in an open economy is also briefly considered.Economic instruments
