BACKGROUND: MET is a proto-oncogene with its copy number (CN) alterations been reported in some cancers, but not in primary intestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PI-DLBL) yet. METHODS: In this retrospective study, we performed histology and chart reviews, immunohistochemistry and quantitative polymerase chain reaction for MET CN alterations on 28 surgically resected PI-DLBLs. RESULTS: There were 12 men and 16 women with a median age of 70 and a mean follow-up of 32 months. The median MET CN was 2.20 (range, 1.04 to 3.35). CN gain was observed in 11 cases, including 5 with CN greater than 3. Nine patients (32%) had diploid CN and eight (29%) with CN loss. Patients with gain or diploid CN showed significantly worse prognosis (P = 0.046) than those with CN loss. Furthermore, MET CN greater than 3 was associated with an adverse outcome (P = 0.003). Intestinal perforation at presentation was the sole clinicopathological factor associated with a poor prognosis (P = 0.004) and perforation was correlated with CN greater than 3 (P = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS: Our finding of MET CN gain as a poor prognostic factor in PI-DLBL patients might serve as the rationale for targeting MET signaling pathway in the treatment of these patients

When Ad Is Selfie: The Effect of Selfie on the Effectiveness of Ad Endorsers in Social Media

Selfie has proliferated in social media and capture the attentions from businesses. Although selfie has been leveraged into social commerce, little literature has understood and explained the effect of selfie. To solve this gap, this paper considers the effect of selfie on the effectiveness of ad endorsers and the moderating role of product type. We interpret selfie as a form of self-disclosure and study three types of ad endorsers: celebrities, experts and typical consumers. Given the nature of selfie and ad endorsers, we hypothesize that selfie enhance the effectiveness of celebrities and typical consumers, not experts. Besides, we also hypothesize that selfie improve the effectiveness of celebrities and typical consumer for hedonic product more than for utilitarian product, and experts is good for utilitarian product. Towards hypotheses in our paper, we plan to employ lab and field experimental method to test them. Potential theoretical and practical implications have been discussed

: Calcium is the largest mineral in the body and is necessary in most biological processes. The body\u27s calcium levels are influenced by a variety of renal disorders, one of which is chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease is a pathophysiological process with diverse etiology, resulting in a progressive decline in renal function, and generally end up with kidney failure (stage 5 / end stage). This study aims to describe the levels of calcium in patients with non dialysis stage 5 chronic kidney disease. The method used in this study was a descriptive study conducted from December 2015-January 2016 at two hospitals, Prof. Dr. R. D Kandou hospital and Advent Teling hospital in Manado. The samples were blood samples of all patients with non-dialysis CKD stage 5 in the period and criteria set determined by non-probability sampling types consecutive sampling. Examination serum calcium using O-Cresolphthalein Complexon method. The result obtained 22 (62.9%) were decreased calcium levels (hypocalcemia), 12 (34.3%) calcium levels nomal and 1 (2.9%) with increased levels of calcium (hypercalcemia). The results of this study concluded that most of the non-dyalisis stage 5 chronic kidney disease patients (62,9%) were decline in calcium levels

Unidirectional Lightweight Encapsulation (ULE) is a recently published standard to overcome the efficiency problems of Multi-Protocol Encapsulation for satellite data transmission. This paper presents a comparative study of Unidirectional Lightweight Encapsulation performance using ns-2 [ll simulation and a DVB-S testbed. Performance metrics such link utilization packet loss and latency were taken. It was found that the results of both approaches were comparabl
