An iterative incremental learning algorithm for complex-valued hopfield associative memory
This paper discusses a complex-valued Hopfield associative
memory with an iterative incremental learning algorithm. The mathematical
proofs derive that the weight matrix is approximated as a weight
matrix by the complex-valued pseudo inverse algorithm. Furthermore,
the minimum number of iterations for the learning sequence is defined
with maintaining the network stability. From the result of simulation
experiment in terms of memory capacity and noise tolerance, the proposed
model has the superior ability than the model with a complexvalued
pseudo inverse learning algorithm
The Application of Image Recognition and Machine Learning to Capture Readings of Traditional Blood Pressure Devices: A Platform to Promote Population Health Management to Prevent Cardiovascular Diseases
Digital solutions for Blood Pressure Monitoring (or Telemonitoring) have sprouted in recent years, innovative solutions are often connected to the Internet of Things (IoT), with mobile health (mHealth) platform. However, clinical validity, technology cost and cross-platform data integration remain as the major barriers for the application of these solutions. In this paper, we present an IoT-based and AI-embedded Blood Pressure Telemonitoring (BPT) system, which facilitates home blood pressure monitoring for individuals. The highlights of this system are the machine learning techniques to enable automatic digits recognition, with F1 score of 98.5%; and the cloud-based portal developed for automated data synchronization and risk stratification. Positive feedbacks on trial implementation are received from three clinics. The overall system architecture, development of machine learning model in digit identification and cloud-based telemonitoring are addressed in this paper, alongside the followed implications
A Framework to Synergize Partial Order Reduction with State Interpolation
We address the problem of reasoning about interleavings in safety
verification of concurrent programs. In the literature, there are two prominent
techniques for pruning the search space. First, there are well-investigated
trace-based methods, collectively known as "Partial Order Reduction (POR)",
which operate by weakening the concept of a trace by abstracting the total
order of its transitions into a partial order. Second, there is state-based
interpolation where a collection of formulas can be generalized by taking into
account the property to be verified. Our main contribution is a framework that
synergistically combines POR with state interpolation so that the sum is more
than its parts
Sexual violence against women and children in Chinese societies
This article provides a comprehensive overview of the reported patterns of sexual violence against women and children in China. It reviews the prevalence of and risk factors for various types of sexual violence and discusses community knowledge and perceptions of these violent acts. It also critically examines three major problems of sexual violence research in China. First, the diversity of findings and study methods reported by surveys and criminal reports reflects the problems in obtaining accurate figures on the scope of the problem. Second, precautions must be taken in reading studies on Chinese culture-specific risk factors for domestic violence. Third, the study of culture-specific factors should not focus solely on cultural factors in a vacuum but rather, should examine traditional culture in the context of modern societies and consensus international standards of human rights. D-branes in PP-wave light cone string field theory
The cubic interaction vertex and the dynamical supercharges are constructed
for open strings ending on D7-branes, in light-cone superstring field theory in
PP-wave background. In this context, we write down the symmetry generators in
terms of the relevant group structure: SU(2) x SU(2) x SO(2) x SO(2),
originating from the eight transverse directions in the PP-wave background and
use the expressions to explicitly construct the vertex at the level of stringy
zero modes. The results are further generalized to include all the stringy

Search for Invisible Decays of and in and
Using a data sample of decays collected with the BES
II detector at the BEPC, searches for invisible decays of and
in to and are performed.
The signals, which are reconstructed in final states, are used
to tag the and decays. No signals are found for the
invisible decays of either or , and upper limits at the 90%
confidence level are determined to be for the ratio
and for . These are the first

Observation of Two New N* Peaks in J/psi -> and Decays
The system in decays of is limited to be
isospin 1/2 by isospin conservation. This provides a big advantage in studying
compared with and experiments which mix
isospin 1/2 and 3/2 for the system. Using 58 million decays
collected with the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, more than 100 thousand
events are obtained. Besides two well known
peaks at 1500 MeV and 1670 MeV, there are two new, clear peaks in
the invariant mass spectrum around 1360 MeV and 2030 MeV. They are the
first direct observation of the peak and a long-sought "missing"
peak above 2 GeV in the invariant mass spectrum. A simple
Breit-Wigner fit gives the mass and width for the peak as MeV and MeV, and for the new peak above 2 GeV
as MeV and MeV, respectively
A Note on D-brane - Anti-D-brane Interactions in Plane Wave Backgrounds
We study aspects of the interaction between a D-brane and an anti-D-brane in
the maximally supersymmetric plane wave background of type IIB superstring
theory, which is equipped with a mass parameter mu. An early such study in flat
spacetime (mu=0) served to sharpen intuition about D-brane interactions,
showing in particular the key role of the ``stringy halo'' that surrounds a
D-brane. The halo marks the edge of the region within which tachyon
condensation occurs, opening a gateway to new non-trivial vacua of the theory.
It seems pertinent to study the fate of the halo for non--zero mu. We focus on
the simplest cases of a Lorentzian brane with p=1 and an Euclidean brane with
p=-1, the D--instanton. For the Lorentzian brane, we observe that the halo is
unaffected by the presence of non--zero mu. This most likely extends to other
(Lorentzian) p. For the Euclidean brane, we find that the halo is affected by
non-zero mu. As this is related to subtleties in defining the exchange
amplitude between Euclidean branes in the open string sector, we expect this to

cross sections and the branching fractions for decay into these
