Because of the increasing level of industrial contamination the demand for sustainable products and raw materials aligned with the ecological pollution has been on the rise in this horizon. This study theoretically explores the impact of sustainable environmental practices on financial performance of Ready-made Garment (RMG) companies of Bangladesh following the growing literature linking corporate sustainable environmental performance with revenue development and profitability. Various sustainable environmental practices have diverse effects on firm’s performance, as the literature review suggests. From literature review this paper reports four key areas (community, employee, environment and governance) of sustainable practices for sustainable financial performance that would provide a useful and practical perspective on how companies can explore the sustainable agenda. Finally this paper concludes that companies should integrate environmental, social and governance issues to capture value in terms of revenue development and profitability for the companies. We recommend that the theoretical model that we have derived from literature review needs to validated and tested by future research

For the last few years, ICT integration in education has been the topic of discussion for researchers. Very few researches have been conducted on ICT integration in the context of higher education, especially in Bangladesh. The purpose of this study is to explore the ICT integration in higher education teaching - learning in Bangladesh. This study is qualitative in design. Data were collected from students and teachers in the University of Dhaka through semi-structured interview schedule, focused group discussion and classroom observation schedule. The major findings of this study reveal that ICT is not integrated effectively in higher education teaching-learning. Furthermore, several obstacles have been identified that impede the effective integration of ICT. The obstacles are teachers’ lack of knowledge and skills, teachers’ lack of time to take preparations for class, lack of adequate equipment and access to internet and inadequate technical support. It is asserted that proper teachers’ training about integrating ICT in education will be able to change the scenario to a great extent. This study has, therefore, implications for policy developers, teachers and students of various departments. Keywords: ICT, Pedagogy, Social Interaction, Technology, Teaching – learning

Human resources development (HRD) through education is a long term endeavor in Bangladesh, and this article brings out the need to invest more heavily in this area. If the target level of 7.3 percent GDP growth in the Fifth Five Year Plan is to be achieved, hard issues of priorities will need to be faced in deciding on inter-and intrasectoral allocation of public funds. The purpose of this article is to give a broad outlook of what is currently happening at various levels and structures of HRD in this country as well as of developments over the past 30 years or so. The authors describe the whole process with three objectives in mind: To examine the current situation of HRD; to examine policies and plans so far made for HRD; and to critically pinpoint obstacles to HRD and bring forth some issues and policy recommendations for discussion and implementation. The discussion emphasizes the point that a better education system bridges HRD and economic development
