Comparative study and assessment of the knowledge, attitude and practice of pharmacovigilance among first, second and third professional medical students of PMCH, Dhanbad
Background: Pharmacovigilance awareness among medical students is very important for preventing ADR underreporting. Present study was conducted to know extent of Pharmacovigilance awareness among students and impact of Pharmacovigilance teaching.Methods: Questionnaire based study about KAP towards ADR and Pharmacovigilance was carried out at Patliputra Medical College, Dhanbad. Of 150 questionnaires distributed to first, second and third professional students, 106 were returned.Results: Pharmacovigilance Awareness was 20% in 1st, 91% in 2nd and 94% in 3rd Professional students. Only 10% of 1st, 82% of 2nd and 88% of 3rd Professional students knew about Pharmacovigilance and its purpose. Regarding International and National ADR monitoring body, only 7% of 1st, 50% of 2nd and 63% of 3rd professional students knew. Only 13% of 1st, 45% of 2nd and 56% of 3rd Professional students knew about local AMC. 40% of 1st, 86% of 2nd and 88% of 3rd professional students wanted detailed curricular teaching of Pharmacovigilance. 17% of 1st professional students had seen ADR, none (0%) had seen /reported ADR form. Of 2nd and 3rd professional students, 45% and 75% had seen ADR but only 34% and 56% had seen ADR form and 19% and 38% had reported ADR/seen ADR reporting.Conclusions: 2nd and 3rd professional students had better knowledge and attitude towards pharmacovigilance. As 1st professional students underwent pharmacovigilance teaching, their KAP improved significantly. There existed huge gap between ADR experienced and ADR reporting by all medical students
Estimation of CBR Value Using Dynamic Cone Penetrometer
IRCβ’37-2001, the Indian Roads Congress standard deals with the design of flexible pavements and recommends the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) as an indicator of subgrade soil strength. The subbase/base thickness of pavement is governed by the CBR value of the subgrade soil along with some other parameters such as traffic intensity, climatic conditions, etc. The conventional CBR testing method is expensive, time consuming and its repeatability is low. Additionally, it is very difficult to mould the sample at the desired in-situ density in the laboratory CBR test. Values of inβ’ situ density are underestimated due to local dampness of surface water percolation and stress release while taking out the sample. Dynamic cone penetration test (DCPT) value conducted in the field can be used to estimate the CBR value provided a suitable relationship exists between CBR and DCPT value. Spin-lattice coupling mediated giant magnetodielectricity across the spin reorientation in Ca2FeCoO5
The structural, phonon, magnetic, dielectric, and magneto dielectric
responses of the pure bulk Brownmillerite compound Ca2FeCoO5 are reported. This
compound showed giant magneto dielectric response (10%-24%) induced by strong
spin-lattice coupling across its spin reorientation transition (150-250 K). The
role of two Debye temperatures pertaining to differently coordinated sites in
the dielectric relaxations is established. The positive giant
magneto-dielectricity is shown to be a direct consequence of the modulations in
the lattice degrees of freedom through applied external field across the spin
reorientation transition. Our study illustrates novel control of
magneto-dielectricity by tuning the spin reorientation transition in a material
that possess strong spin lattice coupling.Comment: 7 pages, 12 figure
Effect of foliar application of zinc and salicylic acid on growth, flowering and chemical constitute of African marigold cv. pusa narangi gainda (Targets erecta L.)
A field experiment on African marigold (Targets erecta L.) was conducted during winter season of 2014-15to study the foliar effect of Zn and SA of 20 treatment combinations having five concentrations of zinc (0.0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 %) and salicylic acid (0.0, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.0 mM/L).The treatmentZn4SA3 (Zinc 1% + Salicylic acid 1.0 mM/L) recorded the maximum plant height (77.41 cm), number of leaves per plant (314.10),earliest first flower bud appearance (39.78 days), maximum number of flowers per plant (62.33), maximum chlorophyll content (3.83mg/g) and maximum carotene content (3.07 mg/g)as compared to control where it was recorded minimum. These results are conclusive that foliar spraying with zinc 1.0% + salicylic acid 1.0 mM/L may positively increasedthe growth and flowering parametersof marigold
Road Safety in Great Britain: An Exploratory Data Analysis
Great Britain has one of the safest road networks in the
world. However, the consequences of any death or serious injury are devastating for loved ones, as well as for those who help the severely injured. This paper aims to analyse Great Britain's road safety situation and show the response measures for areas where the total damage caused by accidents can be significantly and quickly reduced. For the past 30 years, the UK has had a good record in reducing fatalities over the past 30 years, there is still a considerable number of road deaths. The government continues to scale back road deaths empowering responsible road users by identifying and prosecuting the parameters that make the roads less safe. This study represents an exploratory analysis with deep insights which could provide policy makers with invaluable insights into how accidents happen and how they can be
mitigated. We use STATS19 data published by the UK government. Since we need more information about locations which is not provided in STATA19, we first expand the features of the dataset using OpenStreetMap and Visual Crossing. This paper also provides a discussion regarding new road safety methods
