About the fastest growth of Order Parameter in Models of Percolation
Can there be a `Litmus test' for determining the nature of transition in
models of percolation? In this paper we argue that the answer is in the
affirmative. All one needs to do is to measure the `growth exponent' of
the largest component at the percolation threshold; or
determines if the transition is continuous or discontinuous. We show that a
related exponent which describes how the average maximal jump
sizes in the Order Parameter decays on increasing the system size, is the
single exponent that describes the finite-size scaling of a number of
distributions related to the fastest growth of the Order Parameter in these
problems. Excellent quality scaling analysis are presented for the two single
peak distributions corresponding to the Order Parameters at the two ends of the
maximal jump, the bimodal distribution constructed by interpolation of these
distributions and for the distribution of the maximal jump in the Order

Modeling of Ultra Low Capacitance Transient Voltage Suppression Diode for High ESD Protection
To improve key properties such as ultra-low capacitance (ULC) and high-voltage (HV) breakdown, we have performed a simulation work about transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes. ULC-TVS diode was designed to employ a double deep trench to cut off the various parasitic effects that may degrade the device performance. The electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection is the targeting for the best applications in high-frequency and high-speed ICs. In this work, the device could present excellent performance in terms of very responsive ESD properties, high breakdown voltage, low leakage current, and very low capacitance level. The double trenches are aligned to the top electrode contact to restrict field crowding effects by the strong electric field intensity. The performance would be sufficient for the robust ESD nature up to IEC61000-4-2 (30 kV) and compatible with strong surge protection IEC61000-4-5 (10A). Their electrical properties have been evaluated for structure from simulation and the results are obtained at the device parameters. Chiral Multiplets of Heavy-Light Mesons
The recent discovery of a narrow resonance in D_s+pi^0 by the BABAR
collaboration is consistent with the interpretation of a heavy J^P(0+,1+) spin
multiplet. This system is the parity partner of the groundstate (0-,1-)
multiplet, which we argue is required in the implementation of SU(3)_L x
SU(3)_R chiral symmetry in heavy-light meson systems. The (0+,1+)->(0-,1-)+pi
transition couplings satisfy a Goldberger-Treiman relation, g_pi =
Delta(M)/f_pi, where Delta(M) is the mass gap. The BABAR resonance fits the 0+
state, with a kinematically blocked principal decay mode to D+K. The allowed
D_s+pi, D_s+2pi and electromagnetic transitions are computed from the full
chiral theory and found to be suppressed, consistent with the narrowness of the
state. This state establishes the chiral mass difference for all such
heavy-quark chiral multiplets, and precise predictions exist for the analogous

The (p,q) String Tension in a Warped Deformed Conifold
We find the tension spectrum of the bound states of p fundamental strings and
q D-strings at the bottom of a warped deformed conifold. We show that it can be
obtained from a D3-brane wrapping a 2-cycle that is stabilized by both electric
and magnetic fluxes. Because the F-strings are Z_M-charged with non-zero
binding energy, binding can take place even if (p,q) are not coprime.
Implications for cosmic strings are briefly discussed.Comment: 17 pages, 1 figur
Geodesic motions in extraordinary string geometry
The geodesic properties of the extraordinary vacuum string solution in (4+1)
dimensions are analyzed by using Hamilton-Jacobi method. The geodesic motions
show distinct properties from those of the static one. Especially, any freely
falling particle can not arrive at the horizon or singularity. There exist
stable null circular orbits and bouncing timelike and null geodesics. To get
into the horizon {or singularity}, a particle need to follow a non-geodesic
trajectory. We also analyze the orbit precession to show that the precession
angle has distinct features for each geometry such as naked singularity, black

Intermediate (S=1) spin state in five-coordinate cobalt(III): Magnetic properties of N-o-hydroxy-benzamido-meso-tetraphenylporphyrin cobalt(III), Co(N-NCO(o-O)C6H4-tpp)
The crystal structures of paramagnetic N-o-oxido-benzimido-meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato (-kappa(4),N-1,N-2,N-3,N-5,kappa O-2) cobalt(III) [Co(N-NCO(o-O)C6H4-tpp); 2] (S = 1) and diamagnetic N-o-oxido-benzimido-meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato (-kappa(4), N-1, N-2, N-3, N-5, kappa O-2) gallium( III) chloroform center dot methanol solvate [Ga(N-NCO(o-O)C6H4-tpp)center dot 0.5CHCl(3)center dot MeOH; 3 center dot 0.5CHCl(3) center dot MeOH] (S = 0) were determined. The coordination sphere around Co(III) in 2 [or Ga(III) in 3 center dot 0.5CHCl(3)center dot MeOH] is described as five-coordinate distorted trigonal bipyramid (DTBP) with O(1), N(1)and N(3) [or O(2), N(1), N(3)] lying in the equatorial plane for 2 [or 3 center dot 0.5CHCl(3)center dot MeOH]. The magnitude of axial (D) zero-field splitting (ZFS) for the Co(III) (S = 1) in 2 was determined as approximately 107 cm(-1) by paramagnetic susceptibility measurements. The compound (2) reacts in donor solvent such as pyridine to form six-coordinate diamagnetic species of the type Co(N-NCO(o-O) C6H4-tpp)(py) (4), whose H-1 NMR spectra can be interpreted as for Co(III) in an octahedral environment
Broilers fed a low protein diet supplemented with synthetic amino acids maintained growth performance and retained intestinal integrity while reducing nitrogen excretion when raised under poor sanitary conditions
The present study investigated the effects of supplementing a low protein (LP) diet supplemented with key essential amino acids (AA) to broilers on growth performance, intestinal tract function, blood metabolites, and nitrogen excretion when the animals were maintained under various sanitary conditions for 35 D after hatching. Three hundred eighty-four one-day-old male broilers (Ross 308) were randomly allotted to groups that received one of 6 dietary treatments in a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement (i.e., 2 environmental conditions and 3 dietary treatments) to give 8 replicates per treatment. Broilers were challenged with 2 environmental conditions (sanitary vs. poor sanitary). The dietary treatments were (1) high protein (HP) diet, (2) LP diet, and (3) LP diet with synthetic key essential AA (LPA): the LP diet was supplemented with synthetic AA up to the required levels for broilers. On day 14, birds consumed the LP diet impaired growth performance compared with those fed the HP diet, while the average daily weight gain-to-feed conversion ratio of birds fed the LPA diet improved to the level of birds fed the HP diet under poor sanitary conditions (P < 0.05). Broilers raised under poor sanitary conditions and fed the LP diet displayed higher (P < 0.05) zonula occludens (ZO-1) expression on day 14 than broilers fed either the HP or LPA diet. Under sanitary conditions, birds fed HP and LPA diets showed higher villus height and crypt depth compared with those of broilers fed the LP diet on day 35. Moreover, broilers raised in the poor sanitary environment had higher (P < 0.05) serum endotoxins than those raised in the sanitary environment. Broilers fed the LPA diet showed reduced (P < 0.05) nitrogen excretion on days 14 and 35 compared with those fed the LP and HP diets independent of the environment. In conclusion, the LPA diet did not impair growth performance under poor sanitary conditions for 14 D after hatch while resulting in lower nitrogen excretion in any environment conditions throughout the experiment
Non-Abelian (p,q) Strings in the Warped Deformed Conifold
We calculate the tension of -strings in the warped deformed conifold
using the non-Abelian DBI action. In the large flux limit, we find exact
agreement with the recent expression obtained by Firouzjahi, Leblond and
Henry-Tye up to and including order terms if is also taken to be
large. Furthermore using the finite prescription for the symmetrised trace
operation we anticipate the most general expression for the tension valid for
any . We find that even in this instance, corrections to the tension

Gauss-Bonnet Black Holes in dS Spaces
We study the thermodynamic properties associated with black hole horizon and
cosmological horizon for the Gauss-Bonnet solution in de Sitter space. When the
Gauss-Bonnet coefficient is positive, a locally stable small black hole appears
in the case of spacetime dimension , the stable small black hole
disappears and the Gauss-Bonnet black hole is always unstable quantum
mechanically when . On the other hand, the cosmological horizon is
found always locally stable independent of the spacetime dimension. But the
solution is not globally preferred, instead the pure de Sitter space is
globally preferred. When the Gauss-Bonnet coefficient is negative, there is a
constraint on the value of the coefficient, beyond which the gravity theory is
not well defined. As a result, there is not only an upper bound on the size of
black hole horizon radius at which the black hole horizon and cosmological
horizon coincide with each other, but also a lower bound depending on the
Gauss-Bonnet coefficient and spacetime dimension. Within the physical phase
space, the black hole horizon is always thermodynamically unstable and the
cosmological horizon is always stable, further, as the case of the positive
coefficient, the pure de Sitter space is still globally preferred. This result
is consistent with the argument that the pure de Sitter space corresponds to an

Momentum dependent dxz/yz band splitting in LaFeAsO
The nematic phase in iron based superconductors (IBSs) has attracted attention with a notion that it may provide important clue to the superconductivity. A series of angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) studies were performed to understand the origin of the nematic phase. However, there is lack of ARPES study on LaFeAsO nematic phase. Here, we report the results of ARPES studies of the nematic phase in LaFeAsO. Degeneracy breaking between the dxz and dyz hole bands near the Γ and M point is observed in the nematic phase. Different temperature dependent band splitting behaviors are observed at the Γ and M points. The energy of the band splitting near the M point decreases as the temperature decreases while it has little temperature dependence near the Γ point. The nematic nature of the band shift near the M point is confirmed through a detwin experiment using a piezo device. Since a momentum dependent splitting behavior has been observed in other iron based superconductors, our observation confirms that the behavior is a universal one among iron based superconductors
