    Performance Analysis of ESPRIT Algorithm for Smart Antenna System

    ESPRIT is a high-resolution signal parameter estimation technique based on the translational invariance structure of a sensor array. The ESPRIT algorithm is an attractive solution to many parameter estimation problems due to its low computational cost. The performance of DOA using estimation signal parameter via a rotational invariant technique is investigated in this paper. By exploiting invariance’s designed into the sensor array, parameter estimates are obtained directly, without knowledge of the array response and without computation or search of some spectral measure. The exact number of samples and elements used is the most important parameter in the algorithms in order to sustain the accuracy of the direction of arrival of the incident signals. This algorithm is more robust with respect to array imperfections than MUSI

    Neuroactive steroids and their role in epilepsy

    Neuroactive steroids are the certain steroids that alter neuronal excitability via the cell surface through interaction with certain neurotransmitter receptors. Neuroactive steroids regulate physiological functions of the central nervous system and have possible therapeutic potential in neurological diseases. They have been shown to affect neuronal excitability via their interaction with the ligand-gated ion channel family, such as the GABAA receptor by acting genomically as well as nongenomically. Positive modulators of GABAA receptor have anticonvulsant action as they enhance GABAergic transmission thereby increasing the seizure threshold. By virtue of these properties, neurosteroids appear to be relevant to pathophysiology and pharmacological treatment of many neurological diseases including catamenial epilepsy, stress induced epilepsy, temporal lobe epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal seizures, infantile spasm and status epilepticus. So far, only synthetic neurosteroid, ganaxolone has been tried in treatment of epilepsy and has shown good efficacy and tolerability. But, human data of trials are limited and hence, large double-blinded, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trials are required before their use.     Radiological examination of impact of edentulism on the articular eminence inclination using orthopantomogram

    Background: Occlusion is an important component of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Little is known about the association between missing teeth and TMJ changes. The objective of this study was to compare inclination of the articular eminence (AE) between dentulous and edentulous arch. Method: A total of 500 patients were divided into group A (dentulous) and group B (edentulous). Group B was further divided into subgroups based on years of edentulism into group 1, group 2 and group 3. On patient’s panoramic radiograph, the sagittal outline of the AE and glenoid fossa were traced, and a sagittal condylar path inclination was constructed by joining the crest of the glenoid fossa and the crest of AE. This was then related to the constructed Frankfurt’s horizontal plane to determine the inclination of AE. Results: The mean measured value for the AE inclination was varying with all the groups. The mean and standard deviation value (combining right & left) for Group A was 42.8+/-6.83 degrees, Group B was 30.45+/-6.55degrees, Group 1 was 30.2+/-7.23degrees, Group 2 was 31.2+/-4.75 degrees, and Group 3 was 27.5+/-9.3 degrees. Significant differences were found in AE inclination between the dentulous and edentulous groups (P <0.05). Conclusion: A significant difference in the AE inclination was found between dentulous and edentulous groups as well as with increase in the period of edentulism

    ANALYTICAL METHOD EVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR ANTI ASTHAMATIC DRUG OXYMETAZOLINE HYDROCHLORIDE IN NASAL SPRAY FORMULATIONS BY RP-HPLC

    A new, simple, accurate and economic reverse-phase HPLC method has been developed for quantification of Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride in nasal spray formulations. This developed method has been validated according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline with respect to system suitability, specificity, precision, linearity, accuracy, and robustness. An isocratic condition of mobile phase Phosphate buffer (pH 3.0): Acetonitrile in a ratio of 60:40, v/v at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/minute over RP C18 (octadecylsilane (ODS), 250 Ă— 4.6 mm, 5 µm, ECLIPSE X DB C-18) column at ambient temperature was maintained. This method is specific and showed excellent linear response with correlation coefficient (R2) values of 0.999, which was within the limit of correlation coefficient (R2 0.995). A  simple  and accurate reversed-phase  HPLC  method  for  the  analysis  of  Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride in  nasal spray formulations was developed and validated successfully

    A simple reverse-phase HPLC method for the estimation of Azelastine hydrochloride in nasal spray formulations has been developed. The method is simple, accurate, precise, specific and linear over the analysis range. This developed method has been validated according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline with respect to system suitability, specificity, precision, linearity, accuracy, and robustness. An isocratic condition of mobile phase comprising Phosphate buffer (pH 3.1): Acetonitrile in a ratio of 60:40, v/v at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/minute over RP C18 (octadecylsilane (ODS), 250 × 4.6 mm, 5 µm, CHROMOSIL) column at ambient temperature was maintained. Besides, the chromatographic peak was observed sharp & symmetric. The proposed method was successfully applied for the estimation of the Azelastine hydrochloride in nasal spray formulation
