Lamellar structure and nanomechanical properties of quasicrystalline Al-Cu-Fe alloys
The kinetics of structural phase transformations in quasicrystal-forming Al-Cu-Fe alloys with compositions in the region of stability of the icosahedral (i) phase has been investigated. It has been shown that, depending on the development of metastable transformations i → pentagonal phases P1 and P2, a homogeneous lamellar structure (i + P1 + P2) or a polygrain i-phase is formed in the alloys. The P-h diagrams obtained upon nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy of indentations have demonstrated signs of elasto-plastic deformation of the alloys with lamellar and polygrain icosahedral structures. It has been found that, in contrast to the polygrain icosahedral alloys with a normal size effect of nanoindentation, the alloys with a lamellar structure are characterized by a nonmonotonic dependence of the hardness (H) on the maximum load (P max) and exhibit the effect of strain hardening in the range of loads 50 mN ≤ P max < 500 mN. The strain hardening is considered as the result of resistance exerted by boundaries of the lamellar structure to the development of plastic deformation. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
The definition of productive reservoirs by the method of fuzzy inference
The lithological classification and allocation of reservoirs are based on the difference of physical and geophysical parameters of rocks. Finding the values of physical and geophysical parameters in some ranges makes it possible to predict the lithology of the formation. The class of information systems based on fuzzy logic provides an effective use of existing knowledge about a certain object. This allows to apply fuzzy logic in intelligent systems of interpretation of well geophysical research materials
Acoustic instability of a circular vortex with a smoothed vorticity profile
It is known that a localized vortex can have two specific mechanisms of
interaction with the ambient flow. The first mechanism is associated with
acoustic radiation, which is accompanied by a loss of energy and causes
instability in the case of negative energy of vortex disturbances. The second
is a Miles mechanism of interaction of the vortex core oscillations with
disturbances in the vicinity of the critical layer (where the phase velocity of
the disturbances coincides with the velocity of the mean flow), accompanied by
an energy flux from the critical layer vicinity, which leads to damping in the
case of negative energy of the oscillations. For the first time, the flow with
both of these mechanisms is considered. The problem is solved from the first
principles. It is shown that the Miles mechanism can completely suppress
acoustic instability, however, in the case of a stronger loss of energy due to
acoustic radiation, acoustic instability will dominate. The role of various
parameters is analyzed and a quantitative criterion for the acoustic
instability of a vortex with a smoothed vorticity profile is obtained
Automation of obtaining initial estimates of reservoir parameters when processing the pressure change curve
This paper proposes the use of artificial neural network for the identification of the modes of filtration that will help to set the initial estimates of the parameters of the reservoir in accordance with the established nature of fluid flow in porous media. The evaluation procedures with the degree of accumulation, permeability, skin factor, coefficient of compressibility of formation and transmittance are described. The results of the experiment on a set of real data of well testing are used to assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach
Structure and Dynamics of a Lattice of Tetragonal Germanates R2Ge2O7 (R = Tb–Lu, Y): Ab Initio Calculation
Abstract: The crystal structure, phonon spectrum, and elastic constants of a series of rare-earth germanates (including yttrium germanate R2Ge2O7 (R = Tb–Lu, Y)) with a tetragonal structure have been ab initio calculated within the density functional theory. The frequencies and types of fundamental vibrations and the intensities of IR and Raman modes are determined. The degrees of participation of ions in each mode are determined by analyzing the displacement vectors obtained as a result of the ab initio calculations. The calculations have been performed for the first time; there are no corresponding experimental data for the entire series of compounds (except for the IR and Raman spectra of yttrium germanate). The performed calculations made it possible to interpret and supplement the known data in the literature on IR and Raman spectra of yttrium germanate Y2Ge2O7. © 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Minobrnauka, (FEUZ-2020-0054)This study was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (project no. Crystal structure of mixed fluorites Ca(1-x)Sr(x)F(2) and Sr(1-x)Ba(x)F(2) and luminescence of Eu(2+) in the crystals
Within the framework of the virtual crystal method implemented in the shell
model and pair potential approximation the crystal structure of mixed fluorites
Ca(1-x)Sr(x)F(2) and Sr(1-x)Ba(x)F(2) has been calculated. The impurity center
Eu(2+) and the distance Eu(2+)-F in this crystals have been also calculated.
The low level position of excited 4f65d configuration of the Eu(2+) ion has
been expressed using phenomenological dependence on distance E(2+)-F. The
dependences of Stokes shift and Huang-Rhys factor on concentration x have been
received for yellow luminescence in Sr(1-x)Ba(x)F(2):Eu(2+). The value x, for
which the eg -level of Eu(2+) ion will be in conduction band in
Sr(1-x)Ba(x)F(2):Eu(2+) has been calculated.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures. The manuscript is sent to journal 'Physics of the
solid state'. The results will be submitted on inernational conference
SCINTMAT'2002 in oral session (june,20-22,2002,Ekaterinburg,Russia).

8He Spectroscopy in Stopped Pion Absorption By 9Be
Level structure of 8He has been studied in the reaction of stopped pion absorption by 9Be nuclei. The missing mass spectrum in the range 0 MeV ≤ MM ≤ 10 MeV has been described by the superposition of phase-space distributions and the three states of 8He. Parameters of these states have been compared with data of other experimental and theoretical works
