Angular Eigenvalues of Higher-Dimensional Kerr-(A)dS Black Holes with Two Rotations

In this paper, following the work of Chen, L\"u and Pope, we present the general metric for Kerr-(A)dS black holes with two rotations. The corresponding Klein-Gordon equation is separated explicitly, from which we develop perturbative expansions for the angular eigenvalues in powers of the rotation parameters with D6D\geq 6.Comment: 10 pages, no figures. Estimates of the Discrepancy Function in Exponential Orlicz Spaces

We prove that in all dimensions n at least 3, for every integer N there exists a distribution of points of cardinality N N, for which the associated discrepancy function D_N satisfies the estimate an estimate, of sharp growth rate in N, in the exponential Orlicz class exp)L^{2/(n+1)}. This has recently been proved by M.~Skriganov, using random digit shifts of binary digital nets, building upon the remarkable examples of W.L.~Chen and M.~Skriganov. Our approach, developed independently, complements that of Skriganov.Comment: 13 page

The 1998 outburst of the X-ray transient XTE J2012+381 as observed with BeppoSAX

We report on the results of a series of X-ray observations of the transient black hole candidate XTE J2012+381 during the 1998 outburst performed with the BeppoSAX satellite. The observed broad-band energy spectrum can be described with the superposition of an absorbed disk black body, an iron line plus a high energy component, modelled with either a power law or a Comptonisation tail. The source showed pronounced spectral variability between our five observations. While the soft component in the spectrum remained almost unchanged throughout our campaign, we detected a hard spectral tail which extended to 200 keV in the first two observations, but became barely detectable up to 50 keV in the following two. A further re-hardening is observed in the final observation. The transition from a hard to a soft and then back to a hard state occurred around an unabsorbed 0.1-200 keV luminosity of 10^38 erg/s (at 10 kpc). This indicates that state transitions in XTE 2012+281 are probably not driven only by mass accretion rate, but additional physical parameters must play a role in the evolution of the outburst.Comment: Paper accepted for publication on A&A (macro included, 9 pages, 5 figures

OGY Control of Haken Like Systems on Different Poincare Sections

The Chua system, the Lorenz system, the Chen system and The L\"u system are chaotic systems that their state space equations is very similar to Haken system which is a nonlinear model of a optical slow-fast system. These Haken-Like Sys-tems have very similar properties. All have two slow but unstable eigenvalues and one fastest but stable eigenvalue. This lets that an approximation of slow manifold be equivalent with unstable manifold of the system. In other hand, control of discreet model of the system on a defined manifold (Poincare map) is main essence of some important control methods of chaotic systems for example OGY method. Here, by using different methods of defining slow manifold of the H-L systems the efficiency of the OGY control for stabilizing problem investigated.Comment: 4 page

Extensions of simple modules over Leavitt path algebras

    Get PDF
Let EE be a directed graph, KK any field, and let LK(E)L_K(E) denote the Leavitt path algebra of EE with coefficients in KK. For each rational infinite path cc^\infty of EE we explicitly construct a projective resolution of the corresponding Chen simple left LK(E)L_K(E)-module V[c]V_{[c^\infty]}. Further, when EE is row-finite, for each irrational infinite path pp of EE we explicitly construct a projective resolution of the corresponding Chen simple left LK(E)L_K(E)-module V[p]V_{[p]}. For Chen simple modules S,TS,T we describe ExtLK(E)1(S,T){\rm Ext}_{L_K(E)}^1(S,T) by presenting an explicit KK-basis. For any graph EE containing at least one cycle, this description guarantees the existence of indecomposable left LK(E)L_K(E)-modules of any prescribed finite length.Comment: updated: dedication to Alberto Facchini on the occasion of his 60th Birthday added in front matte

A technical note on "The KKT Optimality Conditions For Optimization Problem With Interval-Valued Objective Function On Hadamard Manifolds"

In this technical note, we disprove S.-L. Chen's \cite{chen} assertion that the generalized Hukuhara directional differentiability of an interval-valued function defined on a Hadamard manifold is fully identical to the directional differentiability of its endpoint functions by providing a counterexample. Moreover, we address imprecisions in several results proved by using the aforementioned assertion in \cite{chen}. We provide correct statements of the imprecise results and construct examples in their support

Positivity of Δ\Delta-genera for connected polarized demi-normal schemes

In this paper, we show that the Δ\Delta-genus Δ(X,L)0\Delta(X,\mathcal{L})\ge 0 for any connected polarized demi-normal scheme (X,L)(X,\mathcal{L}). As a direct corollary, we obtain Δ(X,KX+Λ)0\Delta(X,K_X+\Lambda)\ge 0 for any Gorenstein stable log scheme (X,Λ)(X,\Lambda), which is an inequality of Noether's type.Comment: 6 page
