Interaction Between Supernova Remnant G22.7-0.2 And The Ambient Molecular Clouds
We have carried out 12CO (J=1-0 and 2-1), 13CO (J=1-0), and C18O (J=1-0)
observations in the direction of the supernova remnant (SNR) G22.7-0.2. A
filamentary molecular gas structure, which is likely part of a larger molecular
complex with VLSR~75-79 km/s, is detected and is found to surround the southern
boundary of the remnant. In particular, the high-velocity wing (77-110 km/s) in
the 12CO (J=1-0 and J=2-1) emission shows convincing evidence of the
interaction between SNR G22.7-0.2 and the 75-79 km/s molecular clouds (MCs).
Spectra with redshifted profiles, a signature of shocked molecular gas, are
seen in the southeastern boundary of the remnant. The association between the
remnant and the 77 km/s MCs places the remnant at the near distance of 4.0-4.8
kpc, which agrees with a location on the Scutum-Crux arm. We suggest that SNR
G22.7-0.2, SNR W41, and HII region G022.760-0.485 are at the same distance and
are associated with GMC G23.0-0.4.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figures, 3 tables, accepted for publication in Ap
Building a black hole-wormhole-black hole combination
In this paper, we present the spherically symmetric Proca star in the
presence of a phantom field and obtain a traversable wormhole solution for
non-trivial topological spacetime. Using numerical methods, symmetric solutions
and asymmetric solutions are obtained in two asymptotically flat regions. We
find that when changing the throat size , both the mass and the
Noether charge no longer have the spiral characteristics of an independent
Proca star, furthermore, the asymmetric solution can be turned into the
symmetric solution at some frequency in certain . In
particular, we find that when the frequency takes a certain value, for each
solution, there is an extremely approximate black hole solution, and there is
even a case where an event horizon appears on both sides of the wormhole
throat.Comment: 32 pages, 19 figure
Materialism, Social Stratification, and Ethics: Evidence from SME Owners in China
Purpose: The study of business ethics has seldom shed light on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) despite their theoretical and practical significance. Drawing from strain perspective, this research intends to address this insufficiency and investigate SME owners’ ethical attitudes towards money-related deviances.
Design/methodology/approach: Based on a large sample of 741 Chinese SMEs, an OLS regression analysis was employed to test associated hypotheses. The robustness of results was additionally checked.
Findings: Results suggest that for stratification variables, education level is positively related to ethical attitudes, whereas household income level is surprisingly negatively associated with ethical attitudes; for materialism facets, success and happiness exert a negative impact on ethical attitudes as hypothesized, but centrality has no associated impact.
Research limitations/implications: This study has examined both structural and motivational sources of personal strains on the ethical attitude of SME owners, while the characteristics of these strains could be explored in the future studies.
Originality/value: This study advances and complements the dominant behavior approach that emphasizes cognitive and other psychological processes in explaining individual ethical attitudes. It is also seemingly the first study to examine the influence of three materialism facets on entrepreneurial ethical attitudes
Prediction of Vortex-Induced Vibration of Long Flexible Cylinders Modeled by a Coupled Nonlinear Oscillator: Integral Transform Solution
The Generalized Integral Transform Technique (GITT) was applied to predict dynamic response of Vortex-Induced Vibration (VIV) of a long flexible cylinder. A nonlinear wake oscillator model was used to represent the cross-flow force acting on the cylinder, leading to a coupled system of second-order Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) in temporal variable. The GITT approach was used to transform the system of PDEs to a system of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), which was numerically solved by using the Adams-Moulton and Gear method (DIVPAG) developed by the International Mathematics and Statistics Library (IMSL). Numerical results were presented for comparison to those given by the finite difference method and experimental results, allowing a critical evaluation of the technique performance. The influence of variation of mean axial tension induced by elongation of flexible cylinder was evaluated, which was shown to be not negligible in numerical simulation of VIV of a long flexible cylinder.IndisponÃvel
