The quantum probability ranking principle for information retrieval
While the Probability Ranking Principle for Information Retrieval provides the basis for formal models, it makes a very strong assumption regarding the dependence between documents. However, it has been observed that in real situations this assumption does not always hold. In this paper we propose a reformulation of the Probability Ranking Principle based on quantum theory. Quantum probability theory naturally includes interference effects between events. We posit that this interference captures the dependency between the judgement of document relevance. The outcome is a more sophisticated principle, the Quantum Probability Ranking Principle, that provides a more sensitive ranking which caters for interference/dependence between documents’ relevanc
Lepton flavor violation decays in the topcolor-assisted technicolor model and the littlest Higgs model with parity
The new particles predicted by the topcolor-assisted technicolor ()
model and the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (called model) can
induce the lepton flavor violation () couplings at tree level or one loop
level, which might generate large contributions to some processes. Taking
into account the constraints of the experimental data on the relevant free
parameters, we calculate the branching ratios of the decay processes
with = , and
in the context of these two kinds of new physics models. We find
that the model and the model can indeed produce significant
contributions to some of these decay processes.Comment: 24 pages, 7 figure
Building detection by local region features in SAR images
The buildings are very complex for detection on SAR images, where the basic features of those are shadows. There are many different representations for SAR shadow. As result it is no possible to use convolutional neural network for building detection directly. In this article we give property analysis of SAR shadows of different type buildings. After that, each region (ROI) prepared for training of building detection is corrected with its own SAR shadow properties. Reconstructions of ROI will be put in a modified YOLO network for building detection with better quality result. The work was partially funded by Public Welfare Technology Applied Research Program of Zhejiang Province under Grant (No.LGJ18F020001, LGF18F030004, LGJ19F020002 , and LGF19F020016), and by National introduction project of senior foreign experts under Grant No.G20200216025. Search for Top Quark FCNC Couplings in Z' Models at the LHC and CLIC
The top quark is the heaviest particle to date discovered, with a mass close
to the electroweak symmetry breaking scale. It is expected that the top quark
would be sensitive to the new physics at the TeV scale. One of the most
important aspects of the top quark physics can be the investigation of the
possible anomalous couplings. Here, we study the top quark flavor changing
neutral current (FCNC) couplings via the extra gauge boson Z' at the Large
Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies. We
calculate the total cross sections for the signal and the corresponding
Standard Model (SM) background processes. For an FCNC mixing parameter x=0.2
and the sequential Z' mass of 1 TeV, we find the single top quark FCNC
production cross sections 0.38(1.76) fb at the LHC with sqrt{s_{pp}}=7(14) TeV,
respectively. For the resonance production of sequential Z' boson and decays to
single top quark at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies, including the
initial state radiation and beamstrahlung effects, we find the cross section
27.96(0.91) fb at sqrt{s_{e^{+}e^{-}}}=1(3) TeV, respectively. We make the
analysis to investigate the parameter space (mixing-mass) through various Z'
models. It is shown that the results benefit from the flavor tagging.Comment: 20 pages, 17 figures, 6 table
Regulating C2H2/CO2 adsorption selectivity by electronic-state manipulation of iron in metal-organic frameworks
The separation of C2H2 from C2H2/CO2 mixture is of great importance, yet highly challenging in the petrochemical industry due to their similar physicochemical properties. While open-metal sites (OMSs) in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are known to possess high affinity toward C2H2, its selective adsorption performance regulated by the electronic state of the same OMSs remains unexplored. Here, we report a metal electronic-state manipulation approach to construct a pair of isostructural Fe-MOFs, namely LIFM-26(Fe[II]/Fe[III]) and LIFM-27(Fe[III]) with different Fe[II] or Fe[III] oxidation states on the Fe centers, which display mixed-valent Fe[II]/Fe[III] centers in the former and sole Fe[III] centers in the latter. Remarkably, LIFM-26(Fe[II]/Fe[III]) shows significantly enhanced C2H2 uptake capacity than LIFM-27(Fe[III]), attested by adsorption isotherms and IAST calculations, as well as simulated and experimental breakthrough experiments. Furthermore, in situ infrared (IR) and molecular calculations unveil that the presence of Fe[II] in LIFM-26(Fe[II]/Fe[III]) results in stronger Fe[II]–C2H2 interactions than Fe[III]–C2H2, which plays a key role in the C2H2/CO2 separation
Linking the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions
We show that the electric glueball becomes critical at the end-point of the
deconfinement phase transition in finite temperature QCD. Based on this
observation and existing lattice data, we argue that the chiral phase
transition at a zero quark mass and the deconfinement phase transition at an
infinite quark mass are continuously connected by the glueball-sigma mixing.Comment: 4 pages, terminology corrected. To appear in Phys. Rev.
Density pertubation of unparticle dark matter in the flat Universe
The unparticle has been suggested as a candidate of dark matter. We
investigated the growth rate of the density perturbation for the unparticle
dark matter in the flat Universe. First, we consider the model in which
unparticle is the sole dark matter and find that the growth factor can be
approximated well by , where is
the equation of state of unparticle. Our results show that the presence of
modifies the behavior of the growth factor . For the second model
where unparticle co-exists with cold dark matter, the growth factor has a new
approximation and
is a function of . Thus the growth factor of unparticle is quite
different from that of usual dark matter. These information can help us know
more about unparticle and the early evolution of the Universe.Comment: 6pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Eur. Phys. J.
Magnetic polarons in weakly doped high-Tc superconductors
We consider a spin Hamiltonian describing - exchange interactions
between localized spins of a finite antiferromagnet as well as -
interactions between a conducting hole () and localized spins. The spin
Hamiltonian is solved numerically with use of Lanczos method of
diagonalization. We conclude that - exchange interaction leads to
localization of magnetic polarons. Quantum fluctuations of the antiferromagnet
strengthen this effect and make the formation of polarons localized in one site
possible even for weak - coupling. Total energy calculations, including
the kinetic energy, do not change essentially the phase diagram of magnetic
polarons formation. For parameters reasonable for high- superconductors
either a polaron localized on one lattice cell or a small ferron can form. For
reasonable values of the dielectric function and - coupling, the
contributions of magnetic and phonon terms in the formation of a polaron in
weakly doped high- materials are comparable.Comment: revised, revtex-4, 12 pages 8 eps figure

Using events collected in the BESII detector, the

studied. The invariant mass distribution exhibits a near-threshold
enhancement that peaks around 2.24 GeV/.
A partial wave analysis shows that the structure is dominated by a

By analyzing the data sets of 17.3, 6.5 and 1.0 pb taken,
respectively, at , 3.650 and 3.6648 GeV with the BES-II
detector at the BEPC collider, we measure the observed cross sections for
