    Get PDF
The present research was designed to increase bioavailability and solubility of Montulokast Sodium by formulating Chrono pharmaceutical delivery system. In the present study firstly immediate release core tablets were prepared by direct compression using Response Surface Methodology with different superdisintegrants, diluents and surfactants to release drug faster. In that formulation containing cross carmellose sodium and Poloxomer-188 with highly soluble lactose gave 95% release in 30 minutes with optimum pre & post compression characteristics. Chronopharmaceutical Drug delivery formulations were then prepared by press coating using polymers as Xanthan gum, Polyox, HPMC & Ethyl Cellulose alone and in combination. The results revealed that combinations of these polymers give better lag time rather than using a single polymer. Thus it can be concluded that combining hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymer can be done to achieve the respected lag time required for pulsatile release

The present study shows the characterization of four somatic antigens (Whole Cyst Antigen (WCA), Cystic Fluid Antigen (CFA), Scolex Antigen (SA) and Membrane-Body Antigen (MBA)) and one metabolic antigen (Excretory-Secretory Antigen (ESA)) prepared from Cysticercus cellulosae originated from a naturally infected pig. Immunodominat proteins were determined using hyper immune rabbit sera. The Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate- Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) profile of the antigens revealed different numbers and patterns of protein bands in the range of 11.80 to 176.74 kDa. The electrophoretic pattern of ESA also revealed a number of closely placed indistinct bands in the range of 20-34 kDa.. The proteins in the lower molecular weight range (< 30 kDa) in the case of WCA, CFA, ESA, and the medium molecular weight range (30-60 kDa) in the case of SA and MBA were observed to be immunodominant in the Enzyme-Linked Immunoelectrotransfer Blot (EITB) assay. These immunodominant proteins could be further investigated as potential diagnostic antigens in the serodiagnosis of cysticercosis in pigs, and neurocysticercosis in human patients.U istraživanju je provedena karakterizacija četiriju somatskih antigena (Whole Cyst Antigen - WCA, Cystic Fluid Antigen - CFA, Scolex Antigen - SA i Membrane Body – MBA), te jednog metaboličkog antigena (ekskrecijsko sekrecijski antigen - ESA), pripravljenih od larvi Cysticercus cellulosae, koje potječu od prirodno zaražene svinje.

Forecasting 2016 US Presidential Elections Using Factor Analysis and Regression Model

    Get PDF
The paper categorizes factors responsible for forecasting the outcome of U.S. presidential election 2016 using factor analysis, which groups the various economic and non-economic parameters based on the correlation among them. The major economic factor significant in 2016 US presidential election is the growth of the economy, and the ‘anti-incumbency factor that signifies how long the incumbent party has been controlling the White House is found to be an important non-economic factor likely to play a dominant role in the election. The dependent variables considered are the vote shares of the nominees of the incumbent and the non-incumbent majority party candidates. The forecast is calculated by running a regression of the significant factors, obtained through factor analysis technique, on the incumbent party vote share as well as on the non-incumbent party vote share. The proposed models forecast the vote share of Democrat candidate Mrs. Hillary Clinton to be 45.59% with a standard error of ±2.32% and that of Republican candidate Mr. Donald Trump to be 39.51% with a standard error of ±3.87%. Hence, the models built in the paper signal a comfortable margin of victory for the Presidential nominee of the incumbent party, Hillary Clinton. The study re-establishes the notion that the non-economic factors have a greater influence on the outcomes of election as compared to the economic factors, as some of the important economic factors such as inflation and unemployment rate failed to establish their significance

Zoonotic Tuberculosis: A Concern and Strategies to Combat

    Get PDF
Mycobacterium bovis is the main causal agent of bovine tuberculosis that causes zoonotic tuberculosis in humans. The most common routes of transmission of the agent to human are airborne transmission, consumption of unpasteurized milk, direct contact with infected animals or untreated animal products. Conventional diagnostic methods in combination with modern molecular and immunological techniques should be used for early and accurate diagnosis of the disease. Some of the challenges to tackle and eradicate zoonotic TB in developing countries are having many hosts, absence of early diagnosis, presence of other acute diseases, being economically unable to implement control strategies, and other social and cultural issues. Usually treatment is not recommended in animals but vaccination is carried out in some countries as a preventive measure. Due to the grave consequences of M. bovis infection on animal and human health, it is necessary to introduce accurate control measures to reduce the risk of disease in human and animal populations. Proper food hygiene practices, slaughter of the affected animals in developed countries, and segregation of the suspected animals in developing countries along with stronger intersectoral collaboration between the veterinary and medical professions are important for the control of the disease

PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION AND MODELLING OF SEPARATELY EXCITED DC MOTOR

DC Motors can be used in various applications and can be used in various sizes and rates as per the applications. In this paper we have focused on the physical parameters of DC motor. Modelling of any system is an important task in control applications because the electrical and mechanical components should be represented in mathematical form. Physical parameters are important in calculating the transfer function of DC motor. By using the physical parameters one can design the controller for controlling speed of the motor. A proportional–integral–derivative controller (PID controller) is a generic control loop feedback mechanism (controller) widely used in industrial control systems. The controller attempts to minimize the error by adjusting the process control inputs. The weighted sum of the proportionate, integrate, differentiate actions is used to adjust the process via a control element such as the position of a control valve, or the power supplied

Ultrasonic atomizer based development of pH sensor for real time analysis

    No full text
Abstract Fluorescent pH biosensors have gained importance owing to their low cost utilization in real time monitoring of biological and food samples in comparison to conventional pH meters. The research reports a novel method of ultrasonic atomization for developing a fluorescent pH sensor for real-time analysis made of Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-dextran/FITC-dextran-Tris (2, 2′-bipyridyl) dichlororuthenium (II) hexahydrate as indicator and reference fluorophores, respectively. The process of ultrasonic atomization ensures formation of monodisperse dye immobilized alginate microspheres ensuring efficient pH sensing. The developed biosensor was tested on milk samples, which has a short life span and shows a significant fall in pH with time due to microbial spoilage. The proposed biosensor showed a linear range of pH 4–8 (R2 between 0.96–0.99 for different single/dual fluorophore biosensors) which suitably cover the pH of milk during the entire storage period and spoilage. The % recovery for predicted pH falls between 90–110% compared against standard pH meter, indicating a good accuracy of estimation and low turnaround time (10 min). Thus, real-time monitoring using fluorescent pH biosensor for milk samples may profoundly improve the economics of losses occurring in processing and storage with capability of in-package continuous quality assessment
