Prospects for early discoveries in final states with dileptons, jets and no missing energy: LRSM and Lepto-Quarks

Final states with high pT leptons and jets are predicted by many Beyond the Standard Model(BSM) scenarios including Grand Unification Theories, Left-Right- Symmetry and Technicolor. Studies based on fully simulated data samples containing two or more high pT leptons, jets and no missing energy have been performed in view of searching for BSM physics with a few hundred inverse picobarns of early ATLAS data. The prospects for an early discovery of first and second generation leptoquark pairs, and of right-handed W and heavy neutrinos will be shown

One Loop Effects in Various Dimensions and D-Branes

We calculate some one loop corrections to the effective action of theories in $d$ dimensions that arise on the dimensional reduction of a Weyl fermion in $D$ dimensions. The terms that we are interested in are of a topological nature. Special attention is given to the effective actions of the super Yang Mills theories that arise on dimensional reduction of the N=1 theory in six dimensions or on the dimensional reduction of the N=1 theory in ten dimensions. In the latter case we suggest an interpretation of the quantum effect as a coupling of the gauge field on the brane to a relative background gauge field.Comment: 18 pages, LaTe

ETUDE STRUCTURALE ET THERMODYNAMIQUE DE NANOCOMPOSITE SEMI-CRISTALLIN POLYMERE/ARGILE

Dans ce travail on étudie les effets d’une argile organiquement modifiée sur les propriétés mécaniques et structurales d’un mélange à base de polypropylène (PP) et de caoutchouc naturel (NR) préparé par extrusion à l’état fondu. Les résultats obtenus montrent qu’il y a amélioration des propriétés thermiques (TGA, DSC) et mécaniques pour une concentration massique en argile égale à 3 %. Les résultats obtenus par diffraction des rayons X (DRX) montrent que pour une concentration massique en argile égale à 3 % il y a un décalage vers les bas angles du pic (001) de l’argile et qu’il ya aussi disparition du pic de cristallite la phase β. Les résultats de l’analyse DRX signifient une intercalation simultanée des macromolécules de polypropylène et de caoutchouc naturel entre les plaquettes d’argile. Les études par microscopie électronique à balayage (MEB) et par microscopie à transmission optique (TOM) révèlent que l’argile affecte la dispersion du caoutchouc naturel dans la matrice PP
