Inclusive double-quarkonium production at the Large Hadron Collider
Based on the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism, we
investigate inclusive productions of two spin-triplet S-wave quarkonia
pp->2J/psi+X, 2Upsilon+X, and J/psi+Upsilon+X at the CERN Large Hadron
Collider. The total production rates integrated over the rapidity (y) and
transverse-momentum (p_T) ranges |y|<2.4 and p_T<50 GGeV are predicted to be
sigma[pp->2J/psi+X] = 22 (35) nb, sigma[pp->2Upsilon+X] = 24 (49) pb, and
sigma[pp->J/psi+Upsilon+X] = 7 (13) pb at the center-of-momentum energy sqrt{s}
= 7 (14) TeV. In order to provide predictions that can be useful in both small-
and large-p_T regions, we do not employ the fragmentation approximation and we
include the spin-triplet S-wave color-singlet and color-octet channels for each
quarkonium final state at leading order in the strong coupling. The p_T
distributions of pp->2J/psi+X and 2Upsilon+X in the low-p_T region are
dominated by the color-singlet contributions. At leading order in the strong
coupling, the color-singlet channel is absent for pp->J/psi+Upsilon+X.
Therefore, the process pp->J/psi+Upsilon+X may provide a useful probe to the

Common Genetic Variant Association with Altered HLA Expression, Synergy with Pyrethroid Exposure, and Risk for Parkinson's Disease: An Observational and Case-Control Study.
Background/objectivesThe common non-coding single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs3129882 in HLA-DRA is associated with risk for idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD). The location of the SNP in the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC-II) locus implicates regulation of antigen presentation as a potential mechanism by which immune responses link genetic susceptibility to environmental factors in conferring lifetime risk for PD.MethodsFor immunophenotyping, blood cells from 81 subjects were analyzed by qRT-PCR and flow cytometry. A case-control study was performed on a separate cohort of 962 subjects to determine association of pesticide exposure and the SNP with risk of PD.ResultsHomozygosity for G at this SNP was associated with heightened baseline expression and inducibility of MHC class II molecules in B cells and monocytes from peripheral blood of healthy controls and PD patients. In addition, exposure to a commonly used class of insecticide, pyrethroids, synergized with the risk conferred by this SNP (OR = 2.48, p = 0.007), thereby identifying a novel gene-environment interaction that promotes risk for PD via alterations in immune responses.ConclusionsIn sum, these novel findings suggest that the MHC-II locus may increase susceptibility to PD through presentation of pathogenic, immunodominant antigens and/or a shift toward a more pro-inflammatory CD4+ T cell response in response to specific environmental exposures, such as pyrethroid exposure through genetic or epigenetic mechanisms that modulate MHC-II gene expression
The NLO QCD Corrections to Meson Production in Decays
The decay width of to meson is evaluated at the next-to-leading
order(NLO) accuracy in strong interaction. Numerical calculation shows that the
NLO correction to this process is remarkable. The quantum
chromodynamics(QCD)renormalization scale dependence of the results is obviously
depressed, and hence the uncertainties lying in the leading order calculation

Stimulated superconductivity at strong coupling
Stimulating a system with time dependent sources can enhance instabilities,
thus increasing the critical temperature at which the system transitions to
interesting low-temperature phases such as superconductivity or superfluidity.
After reviewing this phenomenon in non-equilibrium BCS theory (and its marginal
fermi liquid generalization) we analyze the effect in holographic
superconductors. We exhibit a simple regime in which the transition temperature
increases parametrically as we increase the frequency of the time-dependent

Existence of integro-differential solutions for a class of abstract partial impulsive differential equations
QCD corrections to plus -boson production at the LHC
The associated production at the LHC is an important process in
investigating the color-octet mechanism of non-relativistic QCD in describing
the processes involving heavy quarkonium. We calculate the next-to-leading
order (NLO) QCD corrections to the associated production at the
LHC within the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic QCD, and provide the
theoretical predictions for the distribution of the transverse
momentum. Our results show that the differential cross section at the
leading-order is significantly enhanced by the NLO QCD corrections. We conclude
that the LHC has the potential to verify the color-octet mechanism by measuring

Sensory over-responsivity: parent report, direct assessment measures, and neural architecture
BACKGROUND:
Sensory processing difficulties are common across neurodevelopmental disorders. Thus, reliable measures are needed to understand the biological underpinnings of these differences. This study aimed to define a scoring methodology specific to auditory (AOR) and tactile (TOR) over-responsivity. Second, in a pilot cohort using MRI Diffusion Tensor Imaging, we performed a proof of concept study of whether children with AOR showed measurable differences in their white matter integrity.
METHODS:
This study included children with AOR and TOR from a mixed neurodevelopmental disorder cohort including autism and sensory processing dysfunction (n = 176) as well as neurotypical children (n = 128). We established cohorts based on sensory over-responsivity using parent report (Short Sensory Profile (SSP)) and direct assessment (Sensory Processing-Three Dimensions: Assessment (SP-3D:A)) measures. With a subset of the children (n = 39), group comparisons, based on AOR phenotype, were conducted comparing the white matter fractional anisotropy in 23 regions of interest.
RESULTS:
Using direct assessment, 31% of the children with neurodevelopmental disorders had AOR and 27% had TOR. The inter-test agreement between SSP and SP-3D:A for AOR was 65% and TOR was 50%. Children with AOR had three white matter tracts showing decreased fractional anisotropy relative to children without AOR.
CONCLUSIONS:
This study identified cut-off scores for AOR and TOR using the SSP parent report and SP-3D:A observation. A combination of questionnaire and direct observation measures should be used in clinical and research settings. The SSP parent report and SP-3D:A direct observation ratings overlapped moderately for sensory related behaviors. Based on these preliminary structural neuroimaging results, we suggest a putative neural network may contribute to AOR
Production of Triply Heavy Baryons at LHC
Triply heavy baryons are very interesting hadrons to be explored for they
provide particular information about strong interactions, hadron structures,
and weak decays of heavy baryons. We calculate the hadronic production cross
sections of the \Omega_{ccc} and the \Omega_{ccb}, which are dominated by the
gg fusion subprocesses containing 4362 and 1454 Feynman diagrams, respectively.
A method for generating and calculating tree level Feynman diagrams
automatically is developed to deal with complicated processes containing so
many diagrams. Our results show that 10^4-10^5 events of triply heavy baryons
can be accumulated for 10 fb^{-1} integrated luminosity at LHC. Signatures of
the triply heavy baryons are pointed out, with emphasis on the decay modes
\Omega_{ccc} -> \Omega_{sss} + 3 \pi^+ and \Omega_{ccb} -> \Omega_{sss} + 3
\pi^+ +\pi^-. We conclude that it is quite promising to discover them at LHC.Comment: 32 pages, 7 figures, to appear in JHE
