Zooming in : from aggregate volatility to income distribution

In contrast with a growing literature on the drivers of aggregate volatility in developing countries, its consequences in terms of individual incomes have received less attention. This paper looks at the impact of cyclical output fluctuations and extreme output events (crises) on unemployment, poverty, and inequality. The authors find robust evidence that aggregate volatility has a regressive, asymmetric, and non linear impact, as reflected in the strong influence of extreme output drops. The findings show that, in addition to the mitigating role of personal wealth, public expenditure and labor protection exert a similar benign effect. These findings are in line with the income substitutions view of social safety nets, and cast a new light on the value of social programs and labor market regulation in crisis prone developing countries.Economic Conditions and Volatility,Emerging Markets,Economic Theory&Research,Inequality,

Fil: Tcach, Cesar Eduardo. Think coalitions in contemplrary Argentine

This article analyzes the failure of the processes of conversion of the electoral coalitions in coalitions of government, and the difficult institutionalization of the coalitions in Argentina, from a perspective of study interested in emphasizing the joint between historical factors of long duration and political recent transformations. From this angle of worries, is held that the coalitions were more an instrument of construction of hegemony in key of government of “national unit” that a system of agreements inspired by the beginning of the shared power.Fil: Tcach, Cesar Eduardo. Memory’s scalpel in Argentine democracy

    Get PDF
The first subject matter refers to the need to link two concepts: Paul Ricoeur’s Hindered Memory and Régine Robin’s Needs Memorials. The second one aims to apply these concepts to the post-dictatorial period initiated with Raúl Alfonsín’s government in 1983. The third one extends the reach of the concepts to the post-neoliberal cycle marked by Néstor Kirchner’s access to power and followed by Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner’s ruling.Fil: Tcach, Cesar Eduardo. Flavour-symmetric type-II Dirac neutrino seesaw mechanism

We propose a Standard Model extension with underlying A4 flavour symmetry where small Dirac neutrino masses arise from a Type-II seesaw mechanism. The model predicts the "golden" flavour-dependent bottom-tau mass relation, requires an inverted neutrino mass ordering and non-maximal atmospheric mixing angle. Using the latest neutrino oscillation global fit we derive restrictions on the oscillation parameters, such as a correlation between Dirac CP phase and the lightest neutrino mass.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure

Correlation Between the Fluid Structure Interaction Method and Experimental Analysis of Bending Stress of a Variable Capacity Compressor Suction Valve

    Get PDF
The valves are responsible for controlling the systems of suction and discharge of reciprocating compressors, for this reason they are considered the principal components of the manifold subsystem. Although usually the valves present a simple geometry, these components are difficult to design, because they involve a nonlinear analysis, and stochastic events need to be considered to succeed in your project. Among other care that the engineer should take, the bending stress levels developed during operation of the compressor have very importance. The purpose of this paper is to show the correlation between the application of the numerical method known as FSI (fluid structure interaction) and the experimental strain gage method, for the bending stresses analysis in the suction valve of a reciprocate compressor with variable capacity . During the experimental phase the conditions that reproduce the compressor application are mapped by varying the pressure in the suction and the discharge line. Thus the bending stresses in the suction valve are registred. The same pressure variations are imposed on the FSI numerical model and then the results for bending stress are compared with the experimental method
