Modulazione TENS non lineare multiparametrica per integrare un feedback sensoriale intuitivo

    Get PDF

Implementation of a radiomics pipeline for survival analysis in multiple myeloma patients using 18F FDG PET/CT images: unveiling prognostic markers and predictive models

Multiple Myeloma (MM) poses a formidable challenge due to its high mortality rate, necessitating standardized diagnostic criteria, personalized treatment strategies, and robust prognostic assessments. While clinical evaluations and tests are essential, Computed Tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans play a crucial role in detecting MM lesions. This thesis introduces a comprehensive radiomics pipeline for CT and PET images of MM patients. The workflow begins with MOOSE-assisted spine segmentation, focusing on the disease-active region. Three segmentation versions are derived: original, including bone marrow, and considering surrounding areas. Feature extraction follows, shaping medical scans according to these segmentations. Survival analysis, using the Cox model, explores Progression-Free Survival (PFS) in MM patients to identify prognostic biomarkers and build predictive models. Findings suggest that the spine may not be optimal for prognostic insights compared to studies involving the entire skeleton. CT images outperform PET with higher concordance index (C-index) scores. Results differ based on segmentation shapes and image filters. The feature selection model reveals consistent emergence of shape features, especially "flatness." Pairing specific shape and texture features shows promise in Cox model predictions. This study yields valuable MM prognosis insights, emphasizing specific image regions, imaging modalities, and feature selection in enhancing predictive modeling for patient outcomes. Advanced radiomic analysis addresses the complexities of MM, aiding clinicians in diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for this challenging disease

    Characters-Manganelli

    No full text
The article aims to investigate, through the works of three contemporary authors, the progressive affirmation, alongside the writer Giorgio Manganelli, of a Manganelli-character. The characteristics with which Francesco Permunian, Giulia Niccolai and Romana Petri outline their character-Manganelli allows us to study, from a particular observatory, the current outcome of the original heritage of this writer

Ricaldone Sergio, Ceresi Jeannette. Quel internationalisme à l’aube du XXIe siècle ?. In: Recherches Internationales, n°52-53, 1998. pp. 97-109

Surfactant-like material on the chemoreceptorial surface of the frog's taste organ: an ultrastructural and electron spectroscopic imaging study

    No full text
Tannic acid treatment was used to study the morphology of surfactant-like material (SLM) in the taste organ of Rana esculenta and the relation between this material and the cell types of the organ. On the surface of the taste organ SLM was associated with the apical processes of wing and putative taste cells. In SLM, a biphasic pattern was visible, a portion showed a lamellar periodicity (the repeating period of lamellae approximated 45 A), and a second portion showed an homogeneous electron density. Electron spectroscopic imaging revealed the presence of phosphorus and a large amount of calcium associated with the SLM. The result of our work suggests that SLM has a role in the perireceptorial events in the gustatory transduction by concentrating calcium in specific sites of the chemoreceptorial surface

A Tool to Support Complex Detective Inquiries

    No full text
We present the architecture of an Inquiry Support System whose aim is to help a detective or a judge in: 1. generating hypotheses (automatically in some stereotypical cases), 2. eliciting a maximally consistent set of beliefs as the most believable piece of knowledge to reason with; this is done by: 2.1. finding the incoherences inside and across the various depositions, 2.2. generating the alternate maximally consistent sets of beliefs, 2.3. estimating the credibilities of the various evidences, 2.4. estimating the reliabilities of the various informants. The solution of the case is intended to be searched among the various possible plots compatible with the maximally consistent set of beliefs retained by the system as the most believable one
