Progress toward scalable tomography of quantum maps using twirling-based methods and information hierarchies

We present in a unified manner the existing methods for scalable partial quantum process tomography. We focus on two main approaches: the one presented in Bendersky et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 100, 190403 (2008)], and the ones described, respectively, in Emerson et al. [Science 317, 1893 (2007)] and L\'{o}pez et al. [Phys. Rev. A 79, 042328 (2009)], which can be combined together. The methods share an essential feature: They are based on the idea that the tomography of a quantum map can be efficiently performed by studying certain properties of a twirling of such a map. From this perspective, in this paper we present extensions, improvements and comparative analyses of the scalable methods for partial quantum process tomography. We also clarify the significance of the extracted information, and we introduce interesting and useful properties of the $\chi$-matrix representation of quantum maps that can be used to establish a clearer path toward achieving full tomography of quantum processes in a scalable way.Comment: Replaced with published version (only minor changes respect to the first version

Error characterization in Quantum Information Processing: a protocol for analyzing spatial correlations and its experimental implementation

We present a protocol for error characterization and its experimental implementation with 4 qubits in liquid state NMR. The method is designed to retrieve information about spatial correlations and scales as $O(n^w)$, where $w$ is the maximum number of qubits that have non-negligible interaction. Inmigración y discapacidad. Historias de vida de familias inmigrantes con hijos discapacitados escolarizados en el CEE San Martín de Porres de ATADES (Zaragoza)

Este Trabajo se centra en la Inmigración y en la Discapacidad, con el objetivo de conocer el nivel de integración de las familias inmigrantes cuyos hijos están escolarizados en el Colegio de Educación Especial San Martín de Porres. Para ello me dispongo a estudiar, en primer lugar, la inmigración y sus formas de integración en nuestro país y el tratamiento hacia la discapacidad desde el Sistema Público de Servicios Sociales, con el fin de conocer cuáles son las principales barreras que este colectivo debe afrontar por su doble condición de ser inmigrante y tener discapacidad. Este trabajo está dividido en tres partes fundamentales,en la primera, realizo una contextualización metodológica, así como una descripción de la estructura de la investigación Social realizada. La parte Segunda trata la fundamentación de la investigación desde la visión terminológica, teórica, legislativa y social.En ella, se profundiza en el conocimiento de la situación de las personas inmigrantes que llegan a España, la manera en la que se lleva a cabo su integración y los factores de los que dicha integración depende. Finalmente, en la tercera parte,realizo un análisis del contenido obtenido mediante la investigación social llevada a cabo en dicho Colegio a cinco familias inmigrantes que me permitieron elaborar sus Historias de vida

The Variscan gabbros from the Spanish Central System: A case for crustal recycling in the sub-continental lithospheric mantle?

The gabbroic intrusions that crop out along the Spanish Central System (SCS) are geochemically heterogeneous, including primitive and evolved rocks. Differentiation is mainly related to fractionation of Cr-spinel and olivine, but mixing with coeval granitic magmas or crustal assimilation may have also played a role in the evolution of the most differentiated rocks. The most primitive uncontaminated gabbros show arclike trace element chondrite and primitive-mantle normalised patterns, characterised by large ion lithophile elements (LILE)-light rare earth elements (LREE) enrichment, Sr and Pb positive and Nb–Ta–Ti negative anomalies. However, paleogeographic constraints suggest that the SCS was located far from subduction zones, so these geochemical signatures could be better explained by a recycling of continental crustal components within the mantle. The most primitive SCS gabbros expand the Sr–Nd isotopic compositional range of the Variscan basic magmatism in the Central Iberian Zone to more depleted values. This reflects a heterogeneous sub-continental lithospheric mantle under central Spain ranging from a depleted mantle (εNd=+3.1, 87Sr/86Sr=0.704) towards an isotopically enriched component (εNd=−1.6, 87Sr/ 86Sr=0.706). Geochemical modelling suggests that mantle enrichment could be explained by minor lower crustal metapelitic granulite contamination (~2%). Additionally, the Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic ratios of the most primitive gabbros match the composition of the European subcontinental lithospheric mantle recorded in ultramafic xenoliths from western and central Europe

Cabe mencionar que, a la hora realizar el estudio se tuvo en cuenta el método de investigación mixta, puesto que permito obtener datos concretos y detalles de la situación presentada por parte de los involucrados, los cuales arrojaron antecedentes y aspectos de gran interés para abordar esta temática que de una u otra manera se evidenciaron resultados significativos y fructíferos en donde la población investigado logro comprender y entender que tenían un mal uso de sus emociones y que por x o y motivo no tenía conocimientos de como autorregular y controlar antes las diversas situaciones de la vida. Hercynian gabbroic intrusions from the Spanish Central System: Constraints on mantle composition under central Spain

Pseudoaneurisma de la arteria geniculada superior lateral secundaria a artroplastia de rodilla: Aportación de un caso

El pseudoaneurisma es una complicación infrecuente en la cirugía ortopédica de rodilla. Los pocos casos descritos generalmente están en relación con cirugía artroscópica. Presentamos un caso de pseudoaneurisma de la arteria geniculada superolateral secundario a artroplastia de rodilla en un varón de 69 años. El diagnóstico se realizó mediante arteriografía. Se trató con éxito mediante hemostasia y resección química.Pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon complication in knee orthopaedic surgery. There are few cases reported an most of them are secondary to arthroscopic techniques. We report a case of pseudoaneurysm of the superolateral genicular artery after knee arthroplasty in a 69-year-old-man. The diagnosis was made with arteriographay, and treatment was a successful hemostasia and surgical resection

Fibrohistiocitoma maligno óseo tras degeneración de enfermedad de Paget Caso clínico y revisión de la literatura

El fibrohistiocitoma maligno óseo es un tumor de estirpe mesenquimal poco frecuente, pero de alta agresividad. Se suele presentar de forma primaria, aunque a veces lo hace sobre lesiones previas en el hueso. Puede ser difícil de diferenciar histológicamente de otros tumores, pero es una entidad propia desde el punto de vista anatomopatológico. Presentamos un paciente con enfermedad de Paget que desarrolló un fibrohistiocitoma maligno óseo en el fémur sobre el hueso pagético. Fue tratado mediante desarticulación de cadera. No se usó quimioterapia como tratamiento coadyuvante debido a su avanzada edad y situación basal. A los 18 meses se encuentra asintomático y sin signos de recurrencia. Se hace una revisión de la literatura acerca de este tumor.Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of bone is a rare but highly agressive mesenchimal tumor. It usually arises as a primary tumor but sometimes it can be associated with pre-existing bone abnormalities. Histologically it can be missdiagnosed with other tumors. We report a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of bone in the femur in a patient with Paget's disease treated by hip desarticulation. We didn't use chemotherapy because his elderly status. At 18 months follow up, the patient is symptom-free and neither local recurrence nor metastasis have been found. A review of the literature has been carried out

Contrasting crustal sources for peraluminous granites of the segmented Montes de Toledo Batholith (Iberian Variscan Belt)

The Variscan Montes de Toledo Batholith (MTB) is an E–W linear array of peraluminous granite plutons which is chemically segmented. The study is focused on the western segment of the MTB (W-MTB), mainly composed of granites with slightly lower CaO and higher P2O5 contents than associated eastern plutonic units and nearby S-type granites, giving them a more pronounced peraluminous nature. The chemical contrast is also observed in isotopic composition, especially in radiogenic Nd and Pb ratios. The W-MTB granites have higher initial εNd (–5.0 to –5.9) and lower 206Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb ratios than peraluminous types from the E-MTB segment. A mixed pelitic–greywackeous derivation from regional Neoproterozoic formations is suggested, whereas lower crustal and meta-igneous sources were involved in the origin of the easternmost MTB granites. The presence of igneous muscovite together with coexisting andalusite and sillimanite in some of the studied granites suggests that solidus was reached at 650–700 ºC and depth corresponding to the pressure of 2–3 kbar
