The role of impulsivity in dropout from treatment for cigarette smoking
AbstractImpulsivity is a variable that has been associated with drug use. This study analyzes impulsivity from two different paradigms, one considering it as a trait and the other based on its behavioral correlates, such as disinhibition and impulsive decision-making in the treatment prognosis (maintain abstinence, relapse and dropout) of smokers after outpatient treatment. The participants in the study were 113 smokers who requested treatment for nicotine addiction. They were assigned to three groups according to whether or not they remained abstinent one month after beginning treatment; thus, group 1 was abstinent, group 2 had relapsed, and group 3 had dropped out of treatment. The participants filled out the Semi-structured Interview for Smokers, the Fargerström Test for Nicotine Dependence, the Temperament and Character Inventory-Revised (TCI-R) and the Delay Discounting Task (DDT). The Delay Discounting variable presents lower scores in the dropout group than in the relapse and abstinent groups, with the highest scores in the relapse group. Differences were also found on the Harm Avoidance (HA) variable, with lower scores in the dropout group compared to the relapse group. The importance of these results lies in the consideration of the smoker’s personality profile in order to prevent both dropout and relapse
Fractional reaction-diffusion equations
In a series of papers, Saxena, Mathai, and Haubold (2002, 2004a, 2004b)
derived solutions of a number of fractional kinetic equations in terms of
generalized Mittag-Leffler functions which provide the extension of the work of
Haubold and Mathai (1995, 2000). The subject of the present paper is to
investigate the solution of a fractional reaction-diffusion equation. The
results derived are of general nature and include the results reported earlier
by many authors, notably by Jespersen, Metzler, and Fogedby (1999) for
anomalous diffusion and del-Castillo-Negrete, Carreras, and Lynch (2003) for
reaction-diffusion systems with L\'evy flights. The solution has been developed
in terms of the H-function in a compact form with the help of Laplace and
Fourier transforms. Most of the results obtained are in a form suitable for

Solution of generalized fractional reaction-diffusion equations
This paper deals with the investigation of a closed form solution of a
generalized fractional reaction-diffusion equation. The solution of the
proposed problem is developed in a compact form in terms of the H-function by
the application of direct and inverse Laplace and Fourier transforms.
Fractional order moments and the asymptotic expansion of the solution are also

A note on Friedmann equation of FRW universe in deformed Horava-Lifshitz gravity from entropic force
With entropic interpretation of gravity proposed by Verlinde, we obtain the
Friedmann equation of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe for the deformed
Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity. It is shown that, when the parameter of
Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity , the modified Friedmann
equation will go back to the one in Einstein gravity. This results may imply
that the entropic interpretation of gravity is effective for the deformed
Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity.Comment: 9 pages, no figure
Localization properties of the anomalous diffusion phase in the directed trap model and in the Sinai diffusion with bias
We study the anomalous diffusion phase with which
exists both in the Sinai diffusion at small bias, and in the related directed
trap model presenting a large distribution of trapping time . Our starting point is the Real Space Renormalization method in
which the whole thermal packet is considered to be in the same renormalized
valley at large time : this assumption is exact only in the limit
and corresponds to the Golosov localization. For finite , we thus
generalize the usual RSRG method to allow for the spreading of the thermal
packet over many renormalized valleys. Our construction allows to compute exact
series expansions in of all observables : at order , it is
sufficient to consider a spreading of the thermal packet onto at most
traps in each sample, and to average with the appropriate measure over the
samples. For the directed trap model, we show explicitly up to order
how to recover the diffusion front, the thermal width, and the localization
parameter . We moreover compute the localization parameters for
arbitrary
, the correlation function of two particles, and the generating function
of thermal cumulants. We then explain how these results apply to the Sinai
diffusion with bias, by deriving the quantitative mapping between the

Caracterización de harinas de tritíceas híbridas
Triticales (x Triticosecale Wittmack) y tricepiros (x Triticosecale Witt. X x Agrotricum A. Camus) se mejoran con la finalidad de obtener cultivares de doble propósito (forraje y grano). Para su utilización en consumo humano, la calidad de las harinas de triticales es frecuentemente evaluada midiendo el diámetro y factor de expansión de las galletitas horneadas. Estos indicadores están fuertemente relacionados al contenido de almidón dañado, proteína y polisacáridos no amiláceos de la harina que determinan sus propiedades de absorción de agua. Se evaluaron 25 líneas experimentales, ocho cultivares de triticale y uno de tricepiro en Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina, durante 2012, mediante análisis de correlación simple y de conglomerados. Se observaron correlaciones positivas entre los valores de la capacidad de retención del solvente agua, carbonato de sodio, ácido láctico y sacarosa, índice de retención de agua alcalina, pentosanos solubles y almidón dañado. La caracterización de las harinas y la separación en grupos según sus propiedades fisicoquímicas permitieron la selección de genotipos con diferentes propiedades funcionales. En el análisis de conglomerados, el cluster 1 agrupó los materiales con mejores características fisicoquímicas de las harinas, lo cual aumenta las posibilidades de su empleo en la alimentación humana.Triticales (x Triticosecale Wittmack) and Tricepiros (x Triticosecale Witt. X x Agrotricum A. Camus) are improved in order to obtain dual-purpose cultivars (forage and grain). In order to use them for human consumption the quality of triticale four is frequently evaluated by measuring the diameter and spread factor of cookies. These indicators are strongly related to the contents of damaged starch, protein and non-starch polysaccharides of four, which determine its water absorption properties. During 2012, twenty-five experimental strains, eight triticale and one tricepiro cultivars were evaluated in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina by means of simple correlation and cluster analysis. Positive correlations between the values of solvent retention capacity of water, sodium carbonate, lactic acid and sucrose, retention rate of alkaline water, soluble pentosans and damaged starch were observed. The characterization of the tested fours and their differentiation based on their physicochemical properties allowed the selection of genotypes with different functional properties. In the cluster analysis, cluster 1 pooled the materials with the best physicochemical features of four, which increases the possibilities of its use for human consumption.Fil: Castaño, M. N.. Azimuthal anisotropy and correlations in p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV
We present the first measurement of directed flow () at RHIC. is
found to be consistent with zero at pseudorapidities from -1.2 to 1.2,
then rises to the level of a couple of percent over the range . The latter observation is similar to data from NA49 if the SPS rapidities
are shifted by the difference in beam rapidity between RHIC and SPS.
Back-to-back jets emitted out-of-plane are found to be suppressed more if
compared to those emitted in-plane, which is consistent with {\it jet
quenching}. Using the scalar product method, we systematically compared
azimuthal correlations from p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions. Flow and non-flow

Azimuthal anisotropy: the higher harmonics
We report the first observations of the fourth harmonic (v_4) in the
azimuthal distribution of particles at RHIC. The measurement was done taking
advantage of the large elliptic flow generated at RHIC. The integrated v_4 is
about a factor of 10 smaller than v_2. For the sixth (v_6) and eighth (v_8)
