Effect of Time Delay on Spatial Patterns in a Airal Infection Model with Diffusion
This paper is concerned with the dynamics of a viral infection model with diffusion under the assumption that the immune response is retarded. A time delay is incorporated into the model described the delayed immune response after viral infection. Based upon a stability analysis, we demonstrate that the appearance, or the absence, of spatial patterns is determined by the delay under some conditions. Moreover, the spatial patterns occurs as a consequence of Hopf bifurcation. By applying the normal form and the center manifold theory, the direction as well as the stability of the Hopf bifurcation is explored. In addition, a series of numerical simulations are performed to illustrate our theoretical results
The pathological and therapeutic roles of mesenchymal stem cells in preeclampsia
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have made progress in the treatment of ischemic and inflammatory diseases. Preeclampsia (PE) is characterized by placenta ischemic and inflammatory injury. Our paper summarized the new role of MSCs in PE pathology and its potency in PE therapy and analyzed its current limitations. Intravenously administered MSCs dominantly distributed in perinatal tissues. There may be additional advantages to using MSCs-based therapies for reproductive disorders. It will provide new ideas for future research in this field
Study on column generation for the lot-sizing and scheduling problem with sequencedependent setup time
The capacitated lot-sizing and scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup time and carryover setup state is a challenge problem in the semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing. For the problem, a new mixed integer programming model is proposed, followed by exploring its relative efficiency in obtaining optimal solutions and linearly relaxed optimal solutions. On account of the sequence-dependent setup time and the carryover of setup states, a per-machine Danzig Wolfe decomposition is proposed. We then build a statistical estimation model to describe correlation between the optimal solutions and two lower bounds including the linear relaxation solutions, and the pricing sub-problem solutions of Danzig Wolfe decomposition, which gives insight on the optimal values about information regarding whether or not the setup variables in the optimal solution take the value of 1, and the information is further used in the branch and select procedure. Numerical experiments are conducted to test the performance of the algorithm

Delay-driven irregular spatiotemporal patterns in a plankton system
An inhomogeneous distribution of species density over physical space is a widely observed scenario in plankton systems. Understanding the mechanisms resulting in these spatial patterns is a central topic in plankton ecology. In this paper we explore the impact of time delay on spatiotemporal patterns in a prey-predator plankton system. We find that time delay can trigger the emergence of irregular spatial patterns via a Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, a phase transition from a regular spiral pattern to an irregular one was observed and the latter gradually replaced the former and persisted indefinitely. The characteristic length of the emergent spatial pattern is consistent with the scale of plankton patterns observed in field studies

A Combinatorial Benders' Cuts Algorithm for the Local Container Drayage Problem
This paper examines the local container drayage problem under a special operation mode in which tractors and trailers can be separated; that is, tractors can be assigned to a new task at another location while trailers with containers are waiting for packing or unpacking. Meanwhile, the strategy of sharing empty containers between different customers is also considered to improve the efficiency and lower the operation cost. The problem is formulated as a vehicle routing and scheduling problem with temporal constraints. We adopt combinatorial benders' cuts algorithm to solve this problem. Numerical experiments are performed on a group of randomly generated instances to test the performance of the proposed algorithm
