PROFESSION AND CAREER IN THE BANK MANAGEMENT

    Get PDF
Within the global economy, banks also face multiple challenges, starting from the great competition to the danger of diminishing the market quota and its profitability. The gradual development of the European bank system has led to the increase of the complexity of bank activity. The task of a bank manager is not only to run one any more. Mainly, the task of a modern bank manager is to use all resources at his/her disposal, in order to obtain the estimated results in front of the shareholders. This work is a reflection of the conceptualization processes of the ratio between “development” and “bank management” within the context of getting to know the reality. The theme refers to the structure of the personality of the bank manager which is found in profession, style and behaviour.management, bank system; bank manager profession; management team.

CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABILITY – A LOGICAL APPROACH

    Get PDF
The paper aims to achieve a definition of the concept of sustainability and of sustainable system from a logical perspective. In this respect, it introduces and defines (through the sufficiency predicates) the concept of logically vivid system and, on this basis, are discussed a logical concept of sustainability, respectively of a sustainable system in general are discussed and built up. Sustainability is considered in light of identity preservation of the systems, as a static anchor, on one hand, and of the concept of automatic stabilizers as a dynamic anchor on the other side. Finally, the two sufficiency conditions for a logically vivid system be sustainable are identified: the presence of hyper-cycles, respectively the absence of positive feed-back

Influence of spice and wine based marinades on bovine Biceps femoris muscle tenderness

    Get PDF
Fresh beef slices were marinated by immersion in marinades based on dry red wine, lime-tree honey, salt, spices and seasoning plants as thyme (Thymus vulgaris), marjoram (Majorana hortensis), garlic (Allium sativum) and horseradish (Armoracia rusticana). Control samples were prepared without marinating treatment but packed and stored in the same conditions as marinated samples. After marination, meat pieces were packed under vacuum and stored at 4°C for 12 days. The combined effects of spices and marination on beef tenderness were evaluated by monitoring pH evolution, the protein and collagen degree of hydrolysis and tenderness. Experimental data indicated that marination weaken beef meat structure, producing improvement of functional properties of adult beef. Marinades use lead for an increase in the protein nitrogen fraction, free amino acids and hydroxyproline contents in boiled beef cuts. A significant increase in tenderness by hardness measurement was observed in the samples marinated and boiled, as compared with the control.Key words: Acidic marination, beef meat, marinating time, meat hardness, pH

Structural and Tribological Aspects on Ti (C,O,N) Magnetron Reactive Sputtered Thin-Films

    Get PDF
Magnetron sputtering is a flexible technique and allows producing a significant amount of types of coatings. Within the frame of present work, Ti-C-O-N thin films were deposited onto high-speed steel (AISI M2), substrates by reactive dc magnetron sputtering in a laboratory-size deposition system. It consisted of two vertically opposed rectangular magnetrons, in a closed field configuration. The films were prepared using dc power source on a titanium target (99.6 at.%). A gas atmosphere composed of argon (working gas), acetylene and nitrogen/oxygen (17:3) reactive mixture was used for the depositions. In terms of structure, the samples produced only with ethylene and argon flow reveal a TiC structure (NaCl type). The decrease of Ѐ(C2H2)/Ѐ(O2+N2) induces amorphisation, but TiC structure, with possible N and O inclusions, is still detected. In terms of tribological aspects, the static friction coefficient and roughness (Rz) were analyzed and discussed depending of composition and structure

Financial contagion and identifying speculative frenzies: Unraveling price bubbles in cryptocurrency markets

    Get PDF
This research investigates the occurrence of financial bubbles in the cryptocurrency market and highlights the factors that may influence the formation of these bubbles. Three cryptocurrencies were analyzed: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Cardano, and our findings showed that these cryptocurrencies exhibited potential bubbles during the three-year period under study, from 2020 to 2023. To detect financial bubbles, the Exponential Curve Fitting Model (EXCF) model was used. Events such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict were examined from the perspective of their potential impact on the cryptocurrency market and investor behavior. The study also illustrated how investors’ behavior, whether rational or influenced by external factors, as well as internal factors such as panic levels and knowledge in the financial-economic domain, were analyzed

Some Advice for Psychologists Who Want to Work With Computer Scientists on Big Data

    Get PDF
This article is based on conversations from the project “Big Data in Psychological Assessment” (BDPA) funded by the European Union, which was initiated because of the advances in data science and artificial intelligence that offer tremendous opportunities for personnel assessment practice in handling and interpreting this kind of data. We argue that psychologists and computer scientists can benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration. This article aims to inform psychologists who are interested in working with computer scientists about the potentials of interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as the challenges such as differing terminologies, foci of interest, data quality standards, approaches to data analyses, and diverging publication practices. Finally, we provide recommendations preparing psychologists who want to engage in collaborations with computer scientists. We argue that psychologists should proactively approach computer scientists, learn computer scientific fundamentals, appreciate that research interests are likely to converge, and prepare novice psychologists for a data-oriented scientific future

Interleukin-17 -association to silent lupus nephritis and disease activity

ABSTRACT Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus is a multiorganic, chronic immune disease and lupus nephritis, a severe manifestation, represents the strongest predictor of a poor outcome of this pathology. Cytokines play an important role in lupus nephritis and consequently, their use as biomarkers of active systemic lupus erythematosus disease is of particular interest. The purpose of this work was to study the pro-inflammatory role of interleukin-17 in renal involvement in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods: We performed a retrospective study of 87 patients diagnosed with SLE according to the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics 2012 diagnosis criteria. In this study, we determined the serum levels of interleukin-17 by ELISA. Results: It was observed that 49 patients in the study group presented with positive values of interleukin-17, range (1.12 -23.66) pg/ml. There was a positive correlation of interleukin-17 with active SLE as assessed by the Systemic Lupus Erythematous Disease Activity Index. No association was found between serum interleukin-17 level and renal pathology at the inclusion or in the clinical history of the patients. Patients with leukocyturia and hematuria presented higher values of serum interleukin-17 than those without these manifestations. In the linear regression model, after adjusting for age, gender and treatment we found an independent association between serum IL-17 levels and leukocyturia presence with OR=2.06, 95% CI range (1.22-2.89). Conclusions: A positive correlation has been observed between serum IL-17 and the SLE disease activity as assessed by the SLEDAI score computed without anti-DNA antibodies. Also, the IL-17 levels was strongly associated with the presence of leukocyturia and hematuria, even in patients with no clinical evidence of renal disease that might have silent lupus nephritis usually associated with a benign renal outcome

Dentists, members of the French Resistance movement during the World War II

The Resistance was a reaffirmation of France's independence and individuality, as well as a struggle to regain freedom and, above all, national integrity. In fact, many historians appreciate that the French Resistance could have achieved more if it had been more effectively integrated into Allied plans and strategies. Thus, in this material we tried to present some short biographies of dentists who worked in the French Resistance against the German occupation troops, some of them even paying with their lives for the courage they showed
