    Pembangunan karakter merupakan salah satu bidang yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan bermasayarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Lembaga pendidikan merupakan salah satu wahana pembangunan karakter. Penanaman nilai-nilai karakter berbasis budaya sekolah dapat dilakukan dengan cara memanfaatkan dan memberdayakan semua lingkungan belajar secara optimal untuk menanamkan, memperbaiki, menguatkan, dan menyempurnakan pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjabarkan budaya sekolah yang mendorong terbentuknya karakter pada peserta didik di MTs Mambaus Sholihin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, serta studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Madrasah membentuk karakter peserta didik melalui penerapan budaya sekolah. 2) Budaya sekolah yang diterapkan meliputi etika peserta didik kepada pendidik, budaya ketika memulai dan mengakhiri pelajaran, budaya jujur dan tanggung jawab kepada diri sendiri dan orang lain, 3) Karakter yang terbentuk meliputi disiplin, religius, sikap peduli, jujur, dan tanggung jawab

    SEJARAH DAN PERKEMBANGAN YAYASAN UMAT ISLAM KALIYOSO (YAUMIKA) SERTA KONTRIBUSINYA BAGI MASYARAKAT KECAMATAN KALIJAMBE KABUPATEN SRAGEN TAHUN 1969-2015

    This study is a historical study of the development of local Islam in Kaliyoso Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen Regency, Central Java. Kaliyoso was the forerunner of the spread of Islam in the northern region of Surakarta City. The teachings of Islam in Kaliyoso were first spread by a cleric descended from a local Muslim family named Kiai Abdul Jalal I (Bagus Turmudi). After paying attention to the steps of the struggle of Kiai Abdul Jalal I in developing the Islamic religion, the struggle for preaching from Kiai Abdul Jalal I was continued by the sons of Wayah Kaliyoso with an effort to establish a foundation called the Yayasan Umat Islam Kaliyoso (YAUMIKA) in 1969. This research using a historical methodology that has four main stages of historical methods, namely (1) heuristics, (2) verification, (3) interpretation, (4) historiography. The results of this study indicate that the Yayasan Umat Islam Kaliyoso (YAUMIKA) has a role and contribution in efforts to foster the Kaliyoso community towards a more advanced civilization, as well as organize Islamic community activities. This was done with the aim of spreading the religion of Islam and the welfare of the people of Kaliyoso and its surroundings

    DERIVATIONAL SUFFIXES FORMING NOUN IN THE INSTAGRAM CAPTIONS OF @BAWABALI_OFFICIAL

    This study focused on identifying and analyzing the types of derivational suffixes forming noun in the Instagram caption of @bawabali_official, specifically on the posts shared from September until October 2021. The documentation method was applied in collecting the data for this study. Moreover, this study applied the qualitative-descriptive and quantitative methods in analyzing the data. The data found in this study were analyzed by adopting the theory proposed by Katamba (1994) as the main theory to answer the problem of this study. Additionally, this study also employed formal and informal methods to present the result and discussion. As the result, this study discovered 179 words containing derivational suffixes forming noun. There were 3 types of derivational suffixes forming noun discovered from the data source: 143 data (79,9%) of derivational suffixes deriving verb to noun (-age, -al, -ance, -ence, -ation, -ion, -ee, -er, -or, -ing, -ment, and -y), 26 data (14,5%) of adjective to noun (-dom, -ence, -ery, -ial, -ity, -ness, and -ship), and 10 data (5,6%) of noun to noun (-aire, -er, -ery, -ism, -ist, ­-ship and -y). Eventually, this study discovered that the most prominent type from these 3 types found from the data source was the derivational suffixes deriving verb to noun, which were found in 143 words (79,9%).     Promoting Ecotourism Destination at Jungutan Village, Karangasem, Bali

    Bali is well-known around the world as a popular tourist destination due to its nature beauty and cultural uniqueness. Nowadays, tourism in Bali is move toward sustainable tourism or ecotourism, particularly in the undeveloped areas, such as east part of Bali.  The aim of this research is to explore and promote the potencia of new tourist destinations in Jungutan Village, Karangasem Regency, Bali. Method used was survey, exploration, direct observation, and interview with community leader and local people.  This research was conducted from June – September 2017.  Results shows that there are ten tourism destinations at Jungutan Village that are potential to be promoted, i.e. Bukit Nampo or known also as Bukit Surga, Bukit Cemara, Telaga Tista, Salacca plantation at Yeh Kori Village, Citrus plantation at Untalan Village, sweet potato and cassava field at Batu Ampin Village, and trekking to Mount Agung.  Most of the community does not aware of the ecotourism potential in Jungutan Village.  Therefore, it is very   important to enhance their awareness and education on ecotourism, also to develop infrastructure for easy access to new tourist destination.     Employing Picture Description to Assess the Students' Descriptive Paragraph Writing

    Writing is considered as an important skill in learning process which is needed to be mastered by the students. However, in teaching learning process at schools or universities, the assessment of writing skill is not becoming the focus of learning process and the assessment is administered inappropriately. In this present study, the researcher undertook the study which dealt with assessing descriptive paragraph writing ability of the students through picture description by employing an ex post facto as the research design. The present study was intended to answer the research problem dealing with the extent of the students’ achievement of descriptive paragraph writing ability which is assessed through picture description. The samples under the study were 40 students determined by means of random sampling technique with lottery system. The data were collected through administering picture description as the research instrument. The obtained data were analyzed by using norm-reference measure of five standard values. The results of the data analysis showed that there were 67.50% samples of the study were successful in writing descriptive paragraph, while there were 32.50% samples were unsuccessful in writing descriptive paragraph which was assessed by administering picture description tes
