Coordination of DC power flow controllers and AC/DC converters on optimising the delivery of wind power
The generation of offshore wind power is less predictable. This can cause the overload of offshore DC transmission system and thus requires the curtailment of wind power. To reduce the amount of wind power curtailment, a method of optimising DC power flow using DC power flow controller (DC-PFC) is proposed. The analytical expression of coordinating DC-PFCs and converters in controlling the power flow of the DC system has been created. Method has been developed to optimise the power flow of DC grids within which control setting changes automatically in different wind conditions to reduce both the power curtailment and power losses. The proposed method has been demonstrated and validated on a 9-port DC system. It is concluded that both the curtailment of wind power and power losses are effectively reduced by inserting DC-PFCs into DC grids
Observation of Two New N* Peaks in J/psi -> and Decays
The system in decays of is limited to be
isospin 1/2 by isospin conservation. This provides a big advantage in studying
compared with and experiments which mix
isospin 1/2 and 3/2 for the system. Using 58 million decays
collected with the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, more than 100 thousand
events are obtained. Besides two well known
peaks at 1500 MeV and 1670 MeV, there are two new, clear peaks in
the invariant mass spectrum around 1360 MeV and 2030 MeV. They are the
first direct observation of the peak and a long-sought "missing"
peak above 2 GeV in the invariant mass spectrum. A simple
Breit-Wigner fit gives the mass and width for the peak as MeV and MeV, and for the new peak above 2 GeV
as MeV and MeV, respectively
NLO contributions to Decays in the pQCD approach
We calculate the important next-to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the
decays from the vertex corrections, the quark loops, and the
magnetic penguins in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. The
pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are , , Br(B^0/\ov{B}^0 \to K^0\bar{K}^{*0}+\bar{K}^0
K^{*0}) \approx 8.5\times 10^{-7}, Br(B^0/\ov{B}^0 \to K^+K^{*-} + K^-K^{*+})
\approx 1.3\times 10^{-7}, which agree well with both the experimental upper
limits and the predictions based on the QCD factorization approach.
Furthermore, the CP-violating asymmetries of the considered decay modes are
also evaluated. The NLO pQCD predictions for \acp(B^+ \to K^+\bar{K}^{*0})
and \acp(B^+ \to K^{*+}\bar{K}^{0}) are \acp^{dir}(K^+\bar{K}^{*0})\approx
-6.9 % and \acp^{dir}(K^{*+}\bar{K}^0)\approx 6.5 %.Comment: 29 pages,8 ps/eps figures, modified figures onl
Measurements of J/psi Decays into 2(pi+pi-)eta and 3(pi+pi-)eta
Based on a sample of 5.8X 10^7 J/psi events taken with the BESII detector,
the branching fractions of J/psi--> 2(pi+pi-)eta and J/psi-->3(pi+pi-)eta are
measured for the first time to be (2.26+-0.08+-0.27)X10^{-3} and
(7.24+-0.96+-1.11)X10^{-4}, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
BESII Detector Simulation
A Monte Carlo program based on Geant3 has been developed for BESII detector
simulation. The organization of the program is outlined, and the digitization
procedure for simulating the response of various sub-detectors is described.
Comparisons with data show that the performance of the program is generally

Direct Measurement of the Pseudoscalar Decay Constant fD+
The absolute branching fraction of has been directly
measured by an analysis of a data sample of about 33 collected
around GeV with the BES-II at the BEPC. At these energies,

recoil side of the tagged mesons, purely leptonic decay
