Implications of the Visible and X-Ray Counterparts to GRB970228

The gamma-ray burst source GRB970228 has been observed after a delay of 8--12 hours in X-rays and after one day in visible and near infrared light. This marks the first detection of emission at lower frequencies following the gamma-ray observation of a GRB and the first detection of any visible counterpart to a GRB. We consider possible delayed visible and X-ray emission mechanisms, and conclude that the intrinsic gamma-ray activity continued at a much reduced intensity for at least a day. There are hints of such continued activity in other GRB, and future observations can decide if this is true of GRB in general. The observed multi-band spectrum of GRB970228 agrees with the predictions of relativistic shock theory when the flux is integrated over a time longer than that required for a radiating electron to lose its energy.Comment: 5 pp., tex, 1 figur

Hallyu Sebagai Fenomena Transnasional

In recent years, Republic of Koreas (ROK) cultural industry attracted more half of world by unique and peace culture. It known as Hallyu or Korean Wave which has entertained international public with several cultural contents like; television drama (K-Drama), film, music (K-Pop), fashion (K-Fashion), etc. In 2010 ROKs government apply new cultural policy to spreading Hallyu all over the world, like; High Speed Internet Service Program. This policy used social media as instrument to spreading cultural contents. Hallyu became transnational phenomenon because it successfully attracted international public as good influence for world cultural development. This research focuses about Hallyu as local culture became successful as transnational phenomenon including the actors, mass media and spreading strategy. The actors refers to government, chaebol, idol grouped whose involve into public diplomacy to promote Hallyu. Mass media as instrument to promote Hallyu in creative ways by K-Drama, K-Pop, cartoon and many others. Spreading strategy refers to how actors and mass media as an instrument to create mind and though of international public about Hallyu as positive influence which bring peace missions by attractive culture. Pembahasan Defence Cooperation Agreement Indonesia –Singapuraoleh DPR dan Pemerintah Indonesia dan Implikasinya Bagi Teori Birokratik Politik

This paper aims to examine the extent to which the internal dicsusion of the Defence and Cooperation Agreement between Indonesia and Singapore consistent with the bureaucratic politics theory. Using the null hypotesis and process tracing methods, this paper tests the bureaucratic politic theory, which was first introduced in the foreign policy studies by Graham Allison and Philip Zelikiow. Specifically, this paper asks the following questions: Who are the foreign policy makers in Indonesia with regards to the faith of DCA? What are their stances toward the future of DCA? How does each decision makers advance their own opinion on this matter? What influence their stance? Does the final outcome reflect each actor\u27s initial preference over the outcome? Based on the paper\u27s content and other authors\u27 observation, this paper argues that the internal discussion regarding the future of DCA is not entirely consistent with the argument made by Allison and Zelikow in bureuacratic politics theory

Peranan Kredit Simpan Pinjam terhadap Peningkatan USAha Anggota Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (Ksp) Mojopahit Jaya di Desa Sari Galuh Kecamatan Tapung Kabupaten Kampar

This study aims at knowing the role of business members before and after receiving credit from KSP Mojopahit Jaya. This study was conducted in Mojopahit Jaya saving and loan cooverative in Sari Galuh village Tapung district Kampar regency. The population in this study was the members who receive credit in the period January to April 2012, using a credit to productive enterprise. The sampling method conducted a census to 18 members.The result showed that business credit proved are able to raise the capital and asset. So that members operating revenues increased after the capital increase of the KSP Mojopahit Jaya, where the average income of the business members before obtaining credit is Rp. 19.296.861 and after optaining credit increase to Rp. 23.547.349

Pengaruh Penambahan Tepung Rimpang Temu Kunci (Boesenbergia Pandurata Roxb) Dalam Ransum Terhadap Ketahanan Tubuh Ayam Broiler (the Effect of Powder Addition Fingerroot Rhizome (Boesenbergia Pandurata Roxb) in the Diet on Broiler Body Resistance)

The aimed of the research was determined the effect of powder addition fingerroot rhizome in the diet on broiler body resistance with observed leukocyte total, heterophile lymphocyte ratio and bursa fabricius weight. The material used were 120 broiler (unsex) age of 1 week with body weight 321.78 ± 7.8 g. The research diet based on 3,133.83-3,229.79 kcal/kg metabolic energy and 21.00-21.33% crude protein with ingredients yellow corn, fine bran, soybean meal, fish meal, pollard, poultry meat meal (PMM), bran, premix, vegetable oil and powder of fingerroot rhizome. The research used completely randomize design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates, consisted of 6 broilers per experimental. The treatment given was T0 (basal diet), T1 (basal diet + 0.8% fingerroot powder), T2 (basal diet + 1.2% fingerroot powder), T3 (basal diet + 1.6% fingerroot powder) and T4 (basal diet + 2.0% fingerroot powder). Parameters measured were leukocyte total, heterophile lymphocyte ratio and bursa fabricius weight. The data were analyzed according to analysis of variance. The result shown that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) to total of leukocyte, heterophile lymphocyte ratio and bursa fabricius weight. This study aims to analyze the interdependence between the variables of marketing strategy and organizational performance of insurance companies using canonical correlation analysis with multiple multivariate analysis approach. The interdependent correlation value may explain the subgroup which the dominant variable affects other subgroups on the company based on the value of redundancy index. The study population was 9 go public insurance companies when the study was conducted in 2013. Pola Sebaran Salinitas Dengan Model Numerik Dua Dimensi Di Muara Sungai Musi

The aim of this research is to describe the spread salinity with two dimensions numerical model at the Musi River's estuary, and also to determined relationship of spread salinity with hydrodynamic unsure in water. The research has been done at Juli – Agustus 2011 at Musi River's estuary, South Sumatra. Determination of sampling points is done by using purposive sampling method. The sample is measured by in-situ method and the data is proceed using Surface Water Modelling System (SMS 8.1) software, then verified with field measurement. The result of this research indicated that when the condition of sea-water tidal waters not too far into the river, the concentration of salinity in the surface layer (0.2 D) ranged between 6 - 28o/oo, in the water column (0.5 D) between 6 - 27o/oo, and in the deep waters (0.8 D) between 5 - 27o/oo. In other hand, at low tide condition, the influence of river moved farther out to the sea, with the concentration of salinity in the surface layer (0.2 D) ranged between 5 - 26o/oo, the salinity in the water column (0.5 D) and in the deep waters (0.8 D) between 4 - 27 o/oo. The result of spread salinity of the model simulation shows that the salinity distribution patterns follow the formed of the flow so that it can be said that the flow will affect the distribution of salinity in the waters. Based on the results of the flow simulation and salinity with or without the effects of wind's flow and salinity patterns are the same, in the range 0.9 to 23.9o/oo. The verified average error result of measurement and simulation the model (MRE) with or without wind is 3,163 E-11%. So, factor of the wind did not significantly affect the movement of flow on the research
