On the Consistency of MSGUT Spectra
We show explicitly that, once convention dependent phases are properly
accounted for, the mass spectra evaluated by us in hep-ph\0204097 and
hep-ph\0405074 satisfy the Trace, SU(5) reassembly and Goldstone counting
consistency checks. Furthermore proper phase accounting shows that the
transposition symmetry called "Hermiticity" will be manifest only up to signs
arising from the product of six phase factors which must be reinserted if the
symmetry is to be verified also as regards signs. Thus the claims of
hep-ph/0405300 and hep-ph/0412348 concerning the inconsistency of our results
are completely mistaken. The Chiral multiplet spectra of the two calculations
are equivalent. However our method also gives all gauge and gauge chiral
spectra as well as a MSSM decomposition of all SO(10) MSGUT couplings, for both
tensors and spinors, which are unavailable, even in principle, using the
methods of the above papers.Comment: 9, pages 2 column, revtex
Charged Topological Solitons in 4+1 Dimensional YMCS Theory
We show that when a Chern-Simons term is added to the action of
() Yang-Mills theory in 5 dimensions the usual self-dual topological
solitons present in the theory necessarily pick up a (topological) electric
charge.Comment: 11p [Replaced version N.B Some minor typos have been corrected and a

Topological Electropoles in 4+1 Dimensional EYMCS Theory
A class of explicit exact solutions of Einstein Yang Mills Chern Simons
(EYMCS) theory corresponding to topological solitons carrying non-Abelian
topological electric charge is obtained. This verifies a conjecture made in
Ref.[1,2] regarding the stabilization of the corresponding charged
configurations in the theory without gravity .Comment: 11 pages ,Plain TeX,IOPB/BBSR/94-11. Minor typos in eqns(4),(7),

Topological Soliton Multiplets in 4+1 Dimensional YMCS Theory
We generalize our results on charged topological solitons (CTS) in
dimensional Yang-Mills-Chern-Simons (YMCS) theory to . The
multiplet structure of two classes of solitons associated with the
maximal embeddings and and the vital role of the multiplet of
topological currents is clarified. In the case of the first embedding one
obtains a plet of CTS. In the second, for , one obtains
neutral solitons which, though (classically) spinless, have magnetic moments.
For , after modding out the above mentioned non-particulate feature,
one obtains plets of CTS.Comment: (minor semantic changes), 21
Higgs Masses in the Minimal SUSY SO(10) GUT
We explicitly show that minimal SUSY SO(10) Higgs-Higgsino mass matrices
evaluated by various groups are mutually consistent and correct. We comment on
the corresponding results of other authors. We construct one-to-one mappings of
our approach to the approaches of other authors.Comment: 4 pages, revtex4, Changes in the paper : We agree with Ref.
hep-ph/0501025 that there there should exist equivalence mappings between
results of Higgs mass spectra calculated by three groups of authors. (in
three different approaches. However, in the Note added of the Ref.
hep-ph/0405074 v3 the wrong mapping was presented. The explicit construction
of equivalence mappings to other approches is given. Minor changes in the
text. Paper is beeing accepted for publication in Phys. Rev
Supersymmetric Unification at the Millenium
We argue that the discovery of neutrino mass effects at Super-Kamiokande
implies a clear logical chain leading from the Standard Model, through the MSSM
and the recently developed Minimal Left Right Supersymmetric models with a
renormalizable see-saw mechanism for neutrino mass, to Left Right symmetric
SUSY GUTS : in particular, SO(10) and .
The progress in constructing such GUTS explicitly is reviewed and their
testability/falsifiability by lepton flavour violation and proton decay
measurements emphasized. Susy violations of the survival principle and the
interplay between third generation Yukawa coupling unification and the
structurally stable IR attractive features of the RG flow in SUSY GUTS are also
discussed .Comment: Plenary Talk at WHEPP-6, Chennai, India, Jan. 3-15, 2000. ReVTeX. 9

Quark and lepton masses and mixing in SO(10) with a GUT-scale vector matter
We explore in detail the effective matter fermion mass sum-rules in a class
of renormalizable SUSY SO(10) grand unified models where the quark and lepton
mass and mixing patterns originate from non-decoupling effects of an extra
vector matter multiplet living around the unification scale. If the
renormalizable type-II contribution governed by the SU(2)_L-triplet in 54_H
dominates the seesaw formula, we obtain an interesting correlation between the
maximality of the atmospheric neutrino mixing and the proximity of y_s/y_b to
V_cb in the quark sector.Comment: 13 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables; v2: major update, references adde
Effect of integrated nitrogen management on NPK uptake in basmati rice (Oryza sativa L.)
A field experiment entitled NPK uptake influenced by integrated nitrogen management in basmati rice (Oryza sativa L.) was conducted at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana during kharif 2010. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with 13 treatment combinations of chemical fertilizer, green manuring (GM) with Crotalaria juncea, farmyard manure (FYM) and organic preparations [OP (Jeevamrit and Panchagavya)] in four replications. The highest grain yield (34.9±0.54 q ha-1 ) was obtained with combined application of FYM and 50 per cent of recommended nitrogen (RN) followed by GM+FYM+OP (33.7 q ha-1 ) and GM+FYM (33.4±0.99 q ha-1 ). Straw yield (63.1 q ha-1 ) increased significantly (P<0.01) in treatment where FYM combined with 50 per cent of RN was applied. Among different nitrogen management treatments, the maximum N, P and K uptake in grain and straw were observed under treatment T8 (FYM +50 per cent of RN) viz. integrated nitrogen treatment followed by T11 (GM+FYM+OP) and T9 (GM+FYM). Thus, combined application of FYM @ 19.76 t ha-1- with reduced fertilizer dose (50 % of RN) increased the yield and NPK uptake in basmati rice
A simple SO(10) GUT in five dimensions
A simple supersymmetric SO(10) GUT in five dimensions is considered. The
fifth dimension is compactified on the orbifold
possessing two inequivalent fixed points. In our setup, all matter and Higgs
multiplets reside on one brane (PS brane) where the original SO(10) gauge group
is broken down to the Pati-Salam (PS) gauge group, SU(4)_c \timesSU(2)_L
\times SU(2), by the orbifold boundary condition, while only the SO(10)
gauge multiplet resides in the bulk. The further breaking of the PS symmetry to
the Standard Model gauge group is realized by Higgs multiplets on the PS brane
as usual in four dimensional models. Proton decay is fully suppressed. In our
simple setup, the gauge coupling unification is realized after incorporating
threshold corrections of Kaluza-Klein modes. When supersymmetry is assumed to
be broken on the other brane, supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to the PS
brane through the gaugino mediation with the bulk gauge multiplet.Comment: 12 pages, 1 figure, some errors have been corrected (no change in
