As a promising desalination technology, capacitive deionization (CDI) have shown practicality and cost-effectiveness in brackish water treatment. Developing more efficient electrode materials is the key to improving salt removal performance. This work reviewed current progress on electrode fabrication in application of CDI. Fundamental principal (e.g. EDL theory and adsorption isotherms) and process factors (e.g. pore distribution, potential, salt type and concentration) of CDI performance were presented first. It was then followed by in-depth discussion and comparison on properties and fabrication technique of different electrodes, including carbon aerogel, activated carbon, carbon nanotubes, graphene and ordered mesoporous carbon. Finally, polyaniline as conductive polymer and its potential application as CDI electrode-enhancing materials were also discussed

EFFECT OF FABRICATION CONDITIONS ON PROPERTIES OF BI-2212 THIN FILMS

Abstract High-quality epitaxial c-axis oriented Bi-2212 thin films were deposited on single crystalline (100) MgO substrate using Pulsed Laser Deposition. The results show that these films are good quality with c-axis orientation and epitaxial growth, good electrical and magnetic properties. The critical current density J c was found to be strongly dependent on the temperature and magnetic field. The critical current density for the film growth with the best deposition conditions (Jc=6,3x10 6 A/cm 2 in 0.5T magnetic field at 5 K).The onset temperature for superconducting transition T c-onset = 95K and the temperature for zero resistivity T c-zero =80K

Rotavirus vaccines in clinical development: Current pipeline and state-of-the-art.

Rotavirus (RV) disease is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in children under 5 years of age. The introduction of the two oral rotavirus vaccines Rotarix® and RotaTeq® has shown significant reductions in RV-related mortality, severe RV disease, and hospitalizations. However, some barriers, including a reduced efficacy in low-income countries, safety issues regarding the intussusception risk, age restrictions on vaccine use, the live-attenuated nature itself, and the substantial vaccine costs, currently restrict the full potential of RV disease prevention. Therefore, research is now focusing on the implementation of new oral vaccines and the development of parenteral vaccines to overcome these limits. This review provides an overview of the new rotavirus vaccines in clinical development and the ongoing clinical trials on new RV vaccines in the pediatric age

Abstrak This research examines the Catholic religious leadership style at Siwa Lima Vocational School, Tourism Vocational School and Sanata Karya High School located in Langgur, Southeast Maluku, to reveal and know four things: Style, spirituality, characteristics and the impact of Catholic religious leadership implemented in the three educational units mentioned above. The research was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques as well as the symbols that appeared on the research subjects. The results of the study show that Catholic religious who lead educational institutions, in addition to following Jesus' leadership model, are also imbued with monastic spirituality which is lived and lived by every religious in the monastic community. The leadership that is carried is believed to be a gift from God and not merely a trust given by the Foundation. Leadership style as a servant, shepherd and caretaker is a leadership model that influences and inspires members with life examples and spiritual authority, which builds an educational unit into a community of love or school of love. The spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and John Maria Vianey greatly influences the way of thinking, feeling and acting of religious leadership in three educational units; a spirituality lived and lived by Catholic religious based on an intimate relationship with Jesus through prayer and the Eucharist. The quality of Catholic religious leadership based on this relationship has a concrete impact on: exemplary, discipline, selfless work, spirit of service, respect for each person, cooperation are the values that are fought for
