Aplicación del estudio de métodos y tiempos a la mejora de procesos: Caso fábrica La Milagrosa (imágenes religiosas en yeso).

The study of work is a technique widely used in each of the organizations, since through its tools, such as the study of times and methods, among others, its objective is to optimize each of the resources and processes carried out in an organization and thus propose actions to improve productivity. This article presents an application of the study of work to a manufacturing process of large plaster images in a light industry factory using the techniques of study of methods and time. A critical analysis was performed on the process of the previously selected large-size images, due to its high potential for improvement. The results allowed to reduce the percentage of losses that the company presented due to lack of means to ship its goods, as well as the time management of a stage of the process in which there was excess work. In addition, excessive times were eliminated in stages of the process to increase the percentage of production. Our results showed that work study techniques are adequate tools to be applied in most economic sectors to improve productivity. However, the technique itself will not be effective if there is no commitment from top management to implement the proposed corrective actions.El estudio del trabajo es una técnica muy utilizada en cada una de las organizaciones, ya que a través de sus herramientas, como estudio de tiempos y métodos, entre otros, su objetivo es optimizar cada uno de los recursos y procesos llevados a cabo en una organización y de esta manera proponer acciones de mejora a la productividad. Se realizó un análisis crítico al proceso de las imágenes de tamaño grande previamente seleccionada, debido a su alto potencial de mejora. Los resultados permitieron reducir el porcentaje de perdidas que presentaba la empresa por falta de medios para realizar el envío de sus mercancías, así como la gestión de tiempos de una etapa del proceso en el que se presentaba exceso de trabajo. Aplicación de técnicas y examen sistemático de métodos de los servicios y operaciones realizadas por una microempresa de transporte nacional e internacional

In the transportation industry there is a great competitive level between large transportation companies at national and international level with wide coverage, great benefits and direct access, however there are gaps in the system leaving aside a large market that needs these services, obtaining large delays, which will be presented in this writing, this market are those people who require deliveries, shipments or search for packages to and from abroad and even advice on how effective can be these shipments, mostly small businesses cannot acquire the services of transportation companies with large coverage. Based on this, the case study was applied in a microenterprise SA, a company specialized in logistics and transportation at national and international level, both export and import of goods, also has a complementary service of customs consultancy, where we could analyze in detail the step by step process that is performed in this entity noting certain factors where the process is being delayed. This allowed us to establish the processes to be followed.  This project focuses on the search for improvements in the delivery and shipment of packages nationally and internationally in order to provide the customer with a good experience in the service provided.  The respective analysis was carried out showing two major bottlenecks such as order taking and parcel collection, based on this we used tools such as: the application of time study, productivity calculation and critical analysis. Each of these processes were exposed in detail, but we limited the information only with the direct relation with the subject of the study and the time that is handled to work, so that a clear understanding of the processes to follow to achieve the established objective was obtained obtaining an improvement plan for the company.En la industria del transporte se evidencia una gran nivel competitivo entre grandes empresas de transporte a nivel nacional e internacional con amplias coberturas, grandes beneficios y accesos directos, sin embargo hay vacíos en el sistema dejando aparte un amplio mercado que necesita de estos servicios, obteniendo grandes retrasos, en los cuales se presentaran en este escrito, dicho mercado son aquellas personas que requieren realizar entregas, envíos o búsqueda de paquetes desde y hacia el exterior e incluso asesoramientos de que tan efectivos pueden ser estos envíos, en su gran mayoría los pequeños emprendimientos no pueden adquirir los servicios de empresas de transporte de gran cobertura. Can We Make Sense of the Notion of Trustworthy Technology?

In this paper we raise the question whether technological artifacts can properly speaking be trusted or said to be trustworthy. First, we set out some prevalent accounts of trust and trustworthiness and explain how they compare with the engineer’s notion of reliability. We distinguish between pure rational-choice accounts of trust, which do not differ in principle from mere judgments of reliability, and what we call “motivation-attributing” accounts of trust, which attribute specific motivations to trustworthy entities. Then we consider some examples of technological entities that are, at first glance, best suited to serve as the objects of trust: intelligent systems that interact with users, and complex socio-technical systems. We conclude that the motivation-attributing concept of trustworthiness cannot be straightforwardly applied to these entities. Any applicable notion of trustworthy technology would have to depart significantly from the full-blown notion of trustworthiness associated with interpersonal trust.Values and TechnologyTechnology, Policy and Managemen
