Anomaly-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking with Axion
We construct hadronic axion models in the framework of the anomaly-mediated
supersymmetry breaking scenario. If the Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking is
related to the supersymmetry breaking, mass spectrum of the minimal
anomaly-mediated scenario is modified, which may solve the negative slepton
mass problem in the minimal anomaly-mediated model. We find several classes of
phenomenologically viable models of axion within the framework of the anomaly
mediation and, in particular, we point out a new mechanism of stabilizing the
axion potential. In this class of models, the Peccei-Quinn scale is related to
the messenger scale. We also study phenomenological aspects of this class of
models. We will see that, in some case, the lightest particle among the
superpartners of the standard-model particles is stau while the lightest
superparticle becomes the axino, the superpartner of the axion. With such a
unique mass spectrum, conventional studies of the collider physics and

In the first case, the study of its genetic characteristics is justified by the importance it has have in the origin of other wool breeds. The Churra Lebrijana sheep breed is next the extinction therefore it is necessary to begin a conservation programme of its genetic resources.Las razas ovinas Merino y Churra son dos de las más importantes ovejas explotadas en España. Implications of the Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment for Supersymmetry
We re-examine the bounds on supersymmetric particle masses in light of the
E821 data on the muon anomalous magnetic moment. We confirm, extend and
supersede previous bounds. In particular we find (at one sigma) no lower limit
on tan(beta) or upper limit on the chargino mass implied by the data at
present, but at least 4 sparticles must be lighter than 700 to 820 GeV and at
least one sparticle must be lighter than 345 to 440 GeV. However, the E821
central value bounds tan(beta) > 4.7 and the lighter chargino mass by 690 GeV.
For tan(beta) < 10, the data indicates a high probability for direct discovery

Lepton Dipole Moments and Rare Decays in the CP-violating MSSM with Nonuniversal Soft-Supersymmetry Breaking
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon
electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the
lepton, and , in the CP-violating
Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal
soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the
branching ratios and , after taking
into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM.
Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for
the aforementioned branching ratios and the muon MDM, we obtain an upper bound
of about on the muon EDM which lies well within the

Operation of an optoelectronic crossbar switch containing a terabit-per-second free-space optical interconnect
The experimental operation of a terabit-per-second scale optoelectronic connection to a silicon very-large-scale-integrated circuit is described. A demonstrator system, in the form of an optoelectronic crossbar switch, has been constructed as a technology test bed. The assembly and testing of the components making up the system, including a flip-chipped InGaAs-GaAs optical interface chip, are reported. Using optical inputs to the electronic switching chip, single-channel routing of data through the system at the design rate of 250 Mb/s (without internal fan-out) was achieved. With 4000 optical inputs, this corresponds to a potential aggregate data input of a terabit per second into the single 14.6 /spl times/ 15.6 mm CMOS chip. In addition 50-Mb/s data rates were switched utilizing the full internal optical fan-out included in the system to complete the required connectivity. This simultaneous input of data across the chip corresponds to an aggregate data input of 0.2 Tb/s. The experimental system also utilized optical distribution of clock signals across the CMOS chip
Exploring Appropriation of Global Cultural Rituals
Adolescents, as a consequence of identification with popular culture, have been described as having homogenous consumption patterns. More recently, however, it has been recognised that ‘glocalisation’ (global practices reworked to fit local contexts) affords an opportunity for differentiation. This paper considers a recent UK phenomenon, namely that of the US high school prom, and seeks to explore the ways in which this ritual has been adopted or adapted as part of youth culture. The method employed here was mixed methods and included in-depth interviews with those who attended a prom in the last three years as well as a questionnaire distributed amongst high school pupils who were anticipating a high school prom. The findings illustrate that the high school prom in the UK is becoming increasingly integrated into the fabric of youth culture although, depending on the agentic abilities employed by the emerging adults in the sample, there is differing appropriation of this ritual event particularly in relation to attitudes towards and motivations for attending the prom. A typology of prom attendees is posited. This paper contributes to our understanding of this practice in a local context
