Hybrid meson properties in Lattice QCD and Flux Tube Models

Flux tube model predictions for hybrid meson decays are beginning to be confronted by Lattice QCD. We compare the two approaches for the SS-wave decay of the exotic 1−+1^{-+}, and find excellent agreement. Results suggest that in Strong QCD, \qq~ creation occurs with S=1.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure, v2: discussion of parameters and lattice uncertainties adde

    Propulsion sizing program

Computer program was written to evaluate and define optimum design parameters of low pressure auxiliary propulsion system. APS will provide attitude and translational control of space shuttle vehicles. Program evaluates subsystem design parameters such as engine chamber pressure, mixture ratio, expansion ratio, and subsystem component weight and size

Dynamics of hadron strong production and decay

We generalize results of lattice QCD to determine the spin-dependent symmetries and factorization properties of meson production in OZI allowed processes. This explains some conjectures previously made in the literature about axial meson decays and gives predictions for exclusive decays of vector charmonia, including ways of establishing the structure of Y(4260) and Y(4325) from their S-wave decays. Factorization gives a selection rule which forbids e+e−→D∗D2e^+e^- \to D^* D_2 near threshold with the tensor meson in helicity 2. The relations among amplitudes for double charmonia production \e^+e^-\to \psi\chi_{0,1,2} are expected to differ from the analagous relations among light flavour production such as \e^+e^-\to \omega f_{0,1,2}.Comment: 13 pages; journal versio

Kinematical cusp and resonance interpretations of the X(2900)

We examine whether the LHCb vector udcˉsˉud\bar{c}\bar{s} state X(2900)X(2900) can be interpreted as a kinematical cusp effect arising from Dˉ∗K∗\bar D^*K^* and Dˉ1K∗\bar D_1 K^* interactions. The production amplitude is modelled as a triangle diagram with hadronic final state interactions. A satisfactory fit to the Dalitz plot projection is obtained that leverages the singularities of the production diagram without the need for DˉK\bar{D}K resonances. A somewhat better fit is obtained if the final state interactions are strong enough to generate resonances, although the evidence in favour of this scenario is not conclusive.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures. Distributive justice: from Steinhaus, Knaster, and Banach to Elster and Rawls: the perspective of sociological game theory

This article presents a relatively straightforward theoretical framework about distributive justice with applications. It draws on a few key concepts of Sociological Game Theory (SGT). SGT is presented briefly in section 2. Section 3 provides a spectrum of distributive cases concerning principles of equality, differentiation among recipients according to performance or contribution, status or authority, or need. Two general types of social organization of distributive judgment are distinguished and judgment procedures or algorithms are modeled in each type of social organization. Section 4 discusses briefly the larger moral landscapes of human judgment – how distribution may typically be combined with other value into consideration. The article suggests that Rawls, Elster, and Machado point in this direction. Finally, it is suggested that the SGT framework presented provides a useful point of departure to systematically link it and compare the Warsaw School of Fair Division, Rawls, and Elster, among others
