Knowledge sharing implementation and job searching in Malaysia

    Get PDF
The aim of this research is to integrate analysis through case studies on how knowledge sharing could be implemented successfully. Furthermore, this study also will clarify a conceptualisation that provides a new understanding of the relationship between unemployed graduates and the human capital concept. This paper used web documentation for the research technique, and an interpretive approach was used as the research paradigm. Two online recruitment agency sites were analysed thoroughly, and a qualitative analysis was made on them. The connections show how knowledge sharing can be used as a medium to help unemployed graduates to get jobs through online recruitment agencies. An online recruitment agency can help fresh graduates to find good jobs because most of the agencies have thousands of corporate clients. High quality candidates must have good soft skills, problem-solving skills and employable value-added skills to get the best jobs. This study will look at how far online recruitment agencies can better assist new graduates to get the best job for them. The findings will be expressed as qualitative results from the two online recruitment agencies researched as the case studies for the paper. From these case studies, the findings will contribute to the ongoing study on how to implement knowledge sharing among undergraduates after they finished their studies

Continuum states from time-dependent density functional theory

Linear response time-dependent density functional theory is used to study low-lying electronic continuum states of targets that can bind an extra electron. Exact formulas to extract scattering amplitudes from the susceptibility are derived in one dimension. A single-pole approximation for scattering phase shifts in three dimensions is shown to be more accurate than static exchange for singlet electron-He+^+ scattering.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, J. Ionization of hydrogen atoms by electron impact at 1eV, 0.5eV and 0.3eV above threshold

We present here triple differential cross sections for ionization of hydrogen atoms by electron impact at 1eV, 0.5eV and 0.3eV energy above threshold, calculated in the hyperspherical partial wave theory. The results are in very good agreement with the available semiclassical results of Deb and Crothers \cite{DC02} for these energies. With this, we are able to demonstrate that the hyperspherical partial wave theory yields good cross sections from 30 eV \cite{DPC03} down to near threshold for equal energy sharing kinematics.Comment: 6 pages, 9 figure

    Excitations in time-dependent density-functional theory

An approximate solution to the time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) response equations for finite systems is developed, yielding corrections to the single-pole approximation. These explain why allowed Kohn-Sham transition frequencies and oscillator strengths are usually good approximations to the true values, and why sometimes they are not. The approximation yields simple expressions for G\"orling-Levy perturbation theory results, and a method for estimating expectation values of the unknown exchange-correlation kernel.Comment: 4 pages, 1 tabl

An Exploratory Analysis of Post Strategic Plan Implementation Fidelity in Two Urban-Based, Nonprofit Health Education/Advocacy Organizations

This research is a multi case study examining the degree of fidelity (adherence) accorded to strategic plans following implementation in two, urban-based, nonprofit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) health education/advocacy organizations. The study was focused on the impetus and goals for strategic planning, the similarities and differences in the implementation processes, adherence (fidelity) to the plan once implemented, and finally what factors prompted the fidelity or lack of fidelity to the plan once implemented. Fourteen respondent participants from the two organizations were interviewed using a semi-structured interview format. Findings of this study indicated that post-strategic plan fidelity following implementation did exist. The aspect of post-strategic plan implementation communication between the chief executive officer of the organizations and the volunteer members of the board of directors reflects an area that suggests further exploration could be beneficial

Job Satisfaction and the Effects and Influences on Nurse Retention

Researchers have predicted that by 2020 the United States will experience a severe shortage of registered nurses. The purpose of this correlation study, using the National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses 2008, was to investigate the relationship between nurse job satisfaction and its effect on nurse retention nationwide. Secondary data sets from the 2008 National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses and examining relationships between the variable of nurse retention and job satisfaction. Bivariate (correlation coefficient, chi squares, and simple linear regression) and multivariate (logistic regression) analyses identified and connected associations and examined measurement levels between the dependent and independent variables, including correlation coefficient (r), alpha values, and confidence intervals. Significant inverse relationships, although weak, were found between nurses\u27 age and their job satisfaction level and between the numbers of years since nurses graduated from an initial RN education program and their job satisfaction. In addition, there was a statistically significant relationship between the nurses\u27 highest education level and their job satisfaction. The ordinal regression results showed nurses\u27 age, education, and years practicing since earning the RN were significant predictors of job satisfaction, although other factors might explain changes in satisfaction levels. This study will help bring social change to the health care industry by increasing understanding of what many nurses believe to be important within the nursing field, which could help health care facilities retain qualified nurses. Specifically, the results could help community hospital leaders find innovative ways to support nurses and increase nurse retention in small rural hospitals
