    Species diversity of pests of the suborder of shield bugs (Heteroptera) in agrocenoses of the Lazarevsky district of Sochi, Krasnodar Territory, Russia

    Aim. The aim of the work was to study the species diversity of pests of the suborder of shield bugs (Heteroptera) in agrocenoses of the Lazarevsky district of Sochi.This paper presents data on the distribution, abundance and density of Heptoptera pest populations in this location. Heteroptera were gathered twice a month during the growing season (April to October) and weekly in the autumn‐winter period (November to March). The choice of registration date during the growing season was determined by the appearance of the first phytophagous individuals after wintering. Identification of the identified phytophages was carried out in the laboratories of the station according to generally accepted methods.The paper presents data on the distribution, abundance and density of pest populations of the suborder of shield bugs (Heteroptera) in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi, Krasnodar Territory. As a result of this research, the species composition of the most common species of bedbugs in this area has been revealed. The most harmful species noted were: berry shield Dolycoris baccarum Linnaeus, 1758; ornate shield Eurydema ornata Linnaeus, 1758; Green shield Nezara viridula Linnaeus, 1758; ruled shield Graphosoma lineatum Linnaeus, 1758; brown‐marbled bug Halyomorpha halys Stål, 1855; oak lace‐maker Corythucha arcuata Say, 1832; sycamore lace‐maker Corythucha ciliata Say; pear lace‐maker Stephanitis pyri Fabricius and linden bug Oxycarenus lavaterae Fabricius, 1787.As a result of the research undertaken, an increase in the total number of bedbug populations, an expansion of trophic connections, an increase in aggressiveness and a change in the status of individual pest species were revealed

    Key factors in the successful adaptation of the pest <i>Corythucha ciliata</i> Say in the northern subtropics of the Black Sea coast

    Aim. To identify a complex of factors in the successful adaptation of the sycamore lace bug Corythucha ciliata Say for the development of methods for regulating its numbers of and effective biological control measures against this dangerous pest.   Material and Methods. The research was carried out by studying scientific publications, analysing the dynamics of climate change in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi for 15 years and studying the reporting data of the Lazarevskaya Experimental Plant Protection Station, Branch of the Federal Research Center of Biological Plant Protection for the period 2008 to 2022.   Results. 5 key factors of successful adaptation of Corythucha ciliata to new invasion regions have been identified: the factors of food and climatic adaptation, the factor of interaction with natural enemies, the factor of resistance to entomopathogenic organisms and the factor of adaptation to anthropogenic load. The main conditions and possible vectors of further invasion of sycamore lace in new regions have been determined.   Conclusion. The development of effective methods of biological control of the invasive pest Corythucha ciliata Say should be based taking into account the totality of qualitative characteristics of the pest's living conditions. The sycamore lace bug Corythucha ciliata Say effectively builds new trophic connections, without prejudice to its population, adapts not only to new climatic conditions, but also to their changes. Natural entomophages and entomopathogens do not significantly affect the development of the Corythucha ciliata population. The pest has adapted to survival in conditions of high anthropogenic load and successfully uses it to invade new regions

    Replenishment of the species composition of the bioresource collection of Entomoacariphages

    Aim. Formation of the species composition of the bioresource collection "State Collection of Entomoacariphages and Microorganisms" of the Lazarev Experimental Plant Protection Station – a branch of Federal Scientific Centre for Biological Plant Protection. The collection is based on species identified in local biocenoses as well as those introduced from regions with similar climatic conditions.Material and Methods. Collection and study of the effectiveness of native, invasive, introduced entomophages, the dynamics of their acclimatization and the possibility of their introduction into laboratory culture on the territory of the Black Sea coast of Sochi. Methods of their application in plant protection systems were tested.Results. The ability of Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls. to control the number of coccids, including Icerya purchase Maskell, has been experimentally established. Entomophages which are effective and adaptable to reproduction in laboratory conditions were selected: Dicyphus errans Wolff. and Macrolophus nubilis H.S., the aphidophage Harmonia axyridis Pall. and others.Conclusion. As a result of the study, wide polyphages of Dicyphus errans Wolff were found to be presented in the collection of the Lazarev Experimental Plant Protection Station, as well as and Macrolophus nubilis H.S., Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls., Leis dimidiata Fabr., Harmonia axyridis Pall., Encarsia partenopea Masi and Lysiphlebus fabarum Marsh. Acariphages are represented by Phytoseiulus persimilis Ath.‐Henr. and Amblyseius cucumeris Ond. The biological efficacy of Encarsia partenopea Masi has been evaluated in relation to Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westw. in the conditions of the protected ground of Sochi at the parasite ratio:host of 1:30; 68.6%, the best result being obtained with releases of 1:10; 79.19%. Research has begun on the development of methods for the laboratory breeding of Chilocorus renipustulatus

    Environmentally friendly protection of tea plantations in the south of Russia

    Aim. Environmentally safe protection of tea plantations in southern Russia during the revival of a previously prosperous industry and development of a strategy for the development of biological protection of tea growing in the long term which requires the integration of science and production.Material and Methods. Pest contamination of the plantation was detected during phytosanitary surveys. The number of individual pests per unit area is calculated according to the Shapiro method. Studies of the effectiveness of the Australian ladybird beetle cryptolemus (Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls.) in relation to tea pulvinaria were carried out on tea plantations in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi.Result. Justifications are given for the need to provide scientific support during work on farmland when developing environmentally safe protection of tea from pests and diseases. The results of surveys of tea plantations of the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory on the identification of the most dangerous pests for the yield of plantations together with the study of the effectiveness of cryptolemus in relation to tea pulvinaria (cottony camellia scale) in tea culture are given. As a result of the studies, the methodology, norms and multiplicity of the release of the cryptolaemus predator (Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls.) were worked out, both in the larval and imago stages, with heavily infested tea plants. The research was carried using the material and technical facilities of the unique scientific installation, State Collection of Living entomoacariphages and entomopathogens.Conclusion. The revival of tea plantations involves a set of measures aimed at increasing productivity: improving the system of cutting bushes and methods of collecting leaf, repairing, irrigating and fertilizing and mechanizing work on plantations. The use of environmentally friendly methods of protection against the most harmful objects allows the obtaining of tea raw materials of the highest quality

    Physiobalneotherapy methods in complex treatment of osteoarthritis and professional fluorosis

    The paper provides an analysis of the efficacy and tolerability in 259 patients physiobalneotherapy osteoarthritis, of which 99 patients were exposed to fluoride at work, 86 patients with osteoarthritis and 74 patients with osteoarthritis with concomitant hypertension. The high efficacy and good tolerability of decimeter wave therapy and mud therapy in patients with osteoarthritis and fluorosis and complex treatment using decimeter wave therapy, ultraphonophonophoresis ointment 'Hondroksid' and balneotherapy in patients with osteoarthritis with concomitant hypertension.В работе приведен анализ эффективности и переносимости физиобальнеолечения у 259 больных остеоартрозом, из которых было 99 больных, контактировавших с фтором на производстве, 86 больных остеоартрозом и 74 больных остеоартрозом с сопутствующей артериальной гипертензией. Показана высокая эффективность и хорошая переносимость дециметрововолновой терапии и фязелечения у больных остеоартрозом и флюорозом и комплексного лечения с применением дециметрововолновой терапии, ультрафонофореза мази «Хондроксид» и бальнеолечения у больных остеоартрозом с сопутствующей артериальной гипертензией

    The effect of the smoking on development of pneumoconioses and dust bronchitis

    The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of smoking on the risk of pneumoconioses and dust bronchitis in persons exposed to industrial dust. A correlation analysis did not reveal any association between smoking and the formation and course of silicosis or asbestosis and chronic bronchitis, registered against the background of these pneumoconioses. There is significant correlation between smoking and the characteristics of dust bronchitis. The significant correlation between smoking index and the parameters of pneumoconiosis from exposure to low-fibrogenic mixed dust was demonstrated as well.Целью исследования явилась оценка влияния курения на риск развития пневмокониозов и пылевых бронхитов у лиц, подвергающихся воздействию промышленной пыли. При корреляционном анализе не выявлено связи между табакокурением и характеристиками формирования и течения силикоза, асбестоза, а также хронического бронхита, зарегистрированного на фоне данных пневмокониозов. Отмечается значимая корреляционная связь между фактом курения и развитием пылевых бронхитов, а также между индексом курения и характеристиками пневмокониоза от воздействия слабо фиброгенной смешанной пыли

    Cryptolemus in the integrated fight against the Australian Grooved Worm (<i>Icerya purchasi</i> Mackall)

    Aim. To study the possibility of using cryptolemus in an integrated system for combating the Australian grooved worm in the conditions of the southern coast of Crimea.Material  and  Methods.  The  population  of  Icerya  purchasi  Mackall  on plants was determined during regular surveys of agrobiocenoses by counting the number of pest individuals per unit area. The biological effectiveness of cryptolemus from the unique scientific installation «State collection of living entomoacariphages and entomopathogens» in relation to the Australian grooved worm on pittosporum in the conditions of the Southern Coast of Crimea was studied in the following variants: beetle release, larval release and joint release of imago and predator larvae. The possibility of joint use of bioagent and pesticides was studied in the laboratory according to generally accepted methods.Results. It was established that the biological efficacy of Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Muls. in relation to Icerya purchasi Mackall in the conditions of the Southern Coast of Crimea amounted to 50–75% and the possibility of joint use of an entomophage with a number of pesticides is also shown.Conclusion.  The  potential  possibility  of  controlling  the  pest  population with a bioagent, without the use of chemical means of protection, which is especially important in the conditions of a resort area, has been experimentally proven
