U razdoblju od 1. siječnja 1983. do 01. siječnja 1990. godine u Službi za ultrazvučnu dijagnostiku KBC Rijeka pregledana su 874 bolesnika zbog različite patologije skrotuma. U 26 bolesnika (2,97%) sonografski je dijagnosticirana fokalna lezija testisa, što je ujedno i bila vodeća dijagnostička metoda u indikaciji za operativni zahvat
