Static Analysis of Usefulness States in Transition P systems
Transition P Systems are a parallel and distributed computational model based on the notion of the cellular membrane structure. Each membrane determines a region that encloses a multiset of objects and evolution rules. Transition P Systems evolve through transitions between two consecutive configurations that are determined by the membrane structure and multisets present inside membranes. Moreover, transitions between two consecutive configurations are provided by an exhaustive non-deterministic and parallel application of evolution rules. But, to establish the rules to be applied, it is required the previous calculation of useful, applicable and active rules. Hence, computation of useful evolution rules is critical for the whole evolution process efficiency, because it is performed in parallel inside each membrane in every evolution step. This work defines usefulness states through an exhaustive analysis of the P system for every membrane and for every possible configuration of the membrane structure during the computation. Moreover, this analysis can be done in a static way; therefore membranes only have to check their usefulness states to obtain their set of useful rules during execution
Limiting thickness estimation in polycarbonate lenses injection using CAE tools
Some commercial software packages that simulate injection processes are available. It is possible to design moulds and to optimise the processes by using computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools. In addition, we employ C-MOLD, one of the best commercial packages, to determine the limiting thickness in polycarbonate lenses manufactured by injection. In this work we use a simple geometry to study the variation of different magnitudes as a function of the lowest thickness in biconcave and biconvex lenses. The parameters studied are the variation of temperature, pressure and piece mass during the filling time, air traps, melt lines and weld lines. The flow problem of the plastic in the mould is very different for biconcave and biconvex lenses. While the limiting thickness is in the centre for the biconcave lens, the perimeter is the limiting zone for the flow in the biconvex lens. For both geometries, however, the minimum thickness is limited by a mechanical and an aesthetic factor. If we take into account the variation of temperature, pressure and mass with minimum thickness, the mechanical limiting thickness can be estimated as 500 μm. But, if we also consider the evolution of the air traps and the melt and weld lines, which greatly influence the aesthetic factor, the resulting limiting thickness is 650 μm in the centre of biconcave lenses and 500 μm in the peripheric area of biconvex lenses

This article analyzes the musical habits of French Brittany university students, taking into account how they interact with music through new technologies (ICT) and their predominant learning styles. This allowed to study how personal characteristics and the use of some ICT tools can influence the acquisition of knowledge and learning of musical content after listening and sharing different types of music. The current research followed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental descriptive survey design. In order to find out the prevailing styles and patterns of music usage and consumption by means of ICT, two questionnaires were applied to a sample of 308 undergraduate students from the Schools of Education at the University of Western Brittany (Université de Bretagne-Occidentale). After analyzing the data, the results revealed the existence of statistically significant differences in musical uses in terms of learning styles and campus of origin, showing that the particular style of learning is a conditioning factor among the youth population when consuming music through new technologies.
The Constitutional and Legal Relations Between State and Political Parties in Spain
This
paper studies both the constitutional and legal relations between State and political parties
in Spain by using Triepel approach with regard to this matter. In order to do it, the paper
analyses the Spanish historical and present law about political parties, and it propounds a
theoretical suggestion in relation to basic functions of political parties and their concept
according to the Constitution of Spain
Political Science and Public Administration Science: A Hasty Synthesis
The connection
between Political Science and Public Administration Science is political power as a subject
scientifically investigated. Political power is incardinated in political organizations, the more
representative of which is the State, whose theory is in the middle of these two sciences
and feeds on them. Not surprisingly the subject of Public Administration Science is Public
Administration, considered in their plurality and as an element of the political system in
relation to the forms of State. The mutual relationship between these two sciences explains
and justifies their academic interlacement in Political and Public Administration Science.
Moreover, as social sciences, they have intense methodological and respect to its subject
relations with all the other social sciences
Factors facilitating ICT innovation in schools. A comparative analysis between different regional educational policies
utilidad para orientar las futuras políticas educativas TIC, así como reorientar las actualesThis article provides the results of a study about some factors that encourage innovation and best
practices with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within schools. The educational
policies implemented in four autonomous regions are the sources of these factors. The data presented
here are part of a research project called «Education Policies and autonomic effects on educational
innovation in the use of ICT in schools», funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (Plan
Nacional de I + D 2004-2007). This information has been obtained via a Likert rating scale on dimensions
and variables that facilitate ICT innovations, based on the results of national and international
investigations. The sample consists of 53 primary and secondary schools, regarded as innovative
centres that have formally participated in initiatives related to innovative ICT use in the Autonomous
Communities of Andalusia, Extremadura, Basque Country and the Canary Islands. The results indicate
that the conditions that favour the innovative use of ICT in schools are mainly the positive attitude
of the teaching groups, the management and the education community in general, the availability of
space and resources to develop innovative projects, and the awareness and commitment of managers
to incorporate ICT in the schools. Some variables that enable ICT innovation have also been identified
in each of the four regions studied. The statistically significant differences found between the regions
studied are consistent with international research, indicating the need for comparative studies of ICT
policies in different geographical contexts. The results of our research may be useful to guide future ICT
policies and to improve the current ones
