Temporal Inhomogeneity of North-East Caucasus Piedmont Landscapes Weather Conditions

    Get PDF
The article analyzes the variability of climatic parameters of North-East Caucasus piedmont landscapes: annual air temperature and precipitation and also the coefficient of moisture over the last 60 years. Large temporal heterogeneity of these parameters is typical for landscapes not only for the whole considered period, but in a greater degree for short periods (3-5 years). In this regard, it is concluded that the short changes can neutralize the effects of the landscape structure of modern climate change

Effect of Climate Variability on Agro-climatic Potential of Landscapes of the Chechen Republic

The paper analyzes variability of the agro-climatic parameters of landscapes in the Chechen Republic, which are actively involved in agricultural production. The paper employs statistical and mathematical research methods. Due to climate aridization, agro-climatic conditions were found to deteriorate in 1965–2015 in the plain semi-desert and desert landscapes. Despite the improved thermal and moisture conditions in the plain steppe landscapes, the number of dangerous meteorological phenomena was observed to increase, including those detrimental to agriculture. Owing to the increased period of active vegetation of plants, agro-climatic conditions in the mountain-valley shrub-steppe landscapes of the republic improved compared to those observed in 1931–1960

Impact of Long-term Climate Changes on the Piedmont Landscapes of the Northeastern Caucasus

    No full text
The article analyzes the temporal structure of the piedmont landscapes of the Northeastern Caucasus in terms of climatic changes over the past 60 years, affecting them. Changes of the frequency of state groups, averaged by the 10-year intervals, lead to the conclusion that climate changes mainly affect the winter conditions. Consequently, both their duration and the duration of the whole winter season shortens. A set of conditions and the duration of summer changes much less. Piedmont landscapes in general remain rather stable due to their mosaic structure
