    The atomic structure of large-angle grain boundaries Ξ£5\Sigma 5 and Ξ£13\Sigma 13 in YBa2Cu3O7βˆ’Ξ΄{\rm YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}} and their transport properties

    We present the results of a computer simulation of the atomic structures of large-angle symmetrical tilt grain boundaries (GBs) Ξ£5\Sigma 5 (misorientation angles \q{36.87}{^{\circ}} and \q{53.13}{^{\circ}}), Ξ£13\Sigma 13 (misorientation angles \q{22.62}{^{\circ}} and \q{67.38}{^{\circ}}). The critical strain level Ο΅crit\epsilon_{crit} criterion (phenomenological criterion) of Chisholm and Pennycook is applied to the computer simulation data to estimate the thickness of the nonsuperconducting layer hn{\rm h_n} enveloping the grain boundaries. The hn{\rm h_n} is estimated also by a bond-valence-sum analysis. We propose that the phenomenological criterion is caused by the change of the bond lengths and valence of atoms in the GB structure on the atomic level. The macro- and micro- approaches become consistent if the Ο΅crit\epsilon_{crit} is greater than in earlier papers. It is predicted that the symmetrical tilt GB Ξ£5\Sigma5 \theta = \q{53.13}{^{\circ}} should demonstrate a largest critical current across the boundary.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figure

    Blockchains and other public ledger structures promise a new way to create globally consistent event logs and other records. We make use of this consistency property to detect and prevent man-in-the-middle attacks in a key exchange such as Diffie-Hellman or ECDH. Essentially, the MitM attack creates an inconsistency in the world views of the two honest parties, and they can detect it with the help of the ledger. Thus, there is no need for prior knowledge or trusted third parties apart from the distributed ledger. To prevent impersonation attacks, we require user interaction. It appears that, in some applications, the required user interaction is reduced in comparison to other user-assisted key-exchange protocols

    AbstractThe traditional approaches to discourse's definition, the role of cognitive linguistics in work with literary texts on foreign languages and the translation lessons, the theoretical bases of discourse analysis, and also study of the text through a prism of cognitive approach are shown in our research paper. The method of teaching literary translation on the basis of cognitive discourse analysis of the text is also presented, given its scientific justification, which is efficiency confirmed in practice as a result of shown skilled and experimental work.     Two-photon physics at future electron-positron colliders

    Two photon collisions offer a variety of physics studies that can be performed at the future electron-positron colliders. Using the planned CEPC parameters as a benchmark we consider several topics to be studied in the two-photon collisions. With the full integrated luminosity the Higgs boson photoproduction can be reliably observed. A large statistics of various quarkonium states can be collected. The LEP results on the photon structure function and the tau lepton anomalous magnetic moment can be improved by 1-2 orders of magnitude

    Is the ground state of Yang-Mills theory Coulombic?

    We study trial states modelling the heavy quark-antiquark ground state in SU(2) Yang-Mills theory. A state describing the flux tube between quarks as a thin string of glue is found to be a poor description of the continuum ground state; the infinitesimal thickness of the string leads to UV artifacts which suppress the overlap with the ground state. Contrastingly, a state which surrounds the quarks with non-abelian Coulomb fields is found to have a good overlap with the ground state for all charge separations. In fact, the overlap increases as the lattice regulator is removed. This opens up the possibility that the Coulomb state is the true ground state in the continuum limit.Comment: 10 pages, 9 .eps figure

    All solvable extensions of a class of nilpotent Lie algebras of dimension n and degree of nilpotency n-1

    We construct all solvable Lie algebras with a specific n-dimensional nilradical n_(n,2) (of degree of nilpotency (n-1) and with an (n-2)-dimensional maximal Abelian ideal). We find that for given n such a solvable algebra is unique up to isomorphisms. Using the method of moving frames we construct a basis for the Casimir invariants of the nilradical n_(n,2).     Computation of Invariants of Lie Algebras by Means of Moving Frames

    A new purely algebraic algorithm is presented for computation of invariants (generalized Casimir operators) of Lie algebras. It uses the Cartan's method of moving frames and the knowledge of the group of inner automorphisms of each Lie algebra. The algorithm is applied, in particular, to computation of invariants of real low-dimensional Lie algebras. A number of examples are calculated to illustrate its effectiveness and to make a comparison with the same cases in the literature. Bases of invariants of the real solvable Lie algebras up to dimension five, the real six-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras and the real six-dimensional solvable Lie algebras with four-dimensional nilradicals are newly calculated and listed in tables.Comment: 17 pages, extended versio

    Topicality. The chemical pollution of environment and its impact on the human body is one of the problems not fully studied. It is a question of priority. Carbon and tetrachloride malathion are the most dangerous contaminative elementsconsidered to be the risk factors for many environmentally dependent diseases. Therefore, it is actual to study the characteristics and mechanisms of the aforementioned xenobiotics combined action on the body.Aim. To investigate the free radical processes activity and the endogenous markers of intoxication at the conditions of effect on the rats organism by tetrachloride bbeing affected by malathion.Materials and methods. Experiments conducted on white rats being under carbon tetrachloride intoxication influence (4th, 7th days of the affection) on the basis of thirtieth days malathion affection . Rats were taken out of the experimentby the thiopental anesthesia.Results and discussion. The experimental data proved the malathion and carbon tetrachloride toxic effect, which increases by the conditions of their combined using.Conclusions.
