New fibre-reinforced composites with UEDMA-based resin matrix for dental use

Dental Materials: New Restorative Material Technology: no. 291OBJECTIVES: There are currently some concerns on bis-phenol-A-glycidyl methacrylate(bis-GMA) as a component in dental biomaterials. This study aims at investigating Vicker’s hardness, flexural properties and water sorption of experimental fiber-reinforced composites(FRC) with a newly developed urethane dimethacrylate(UEDMA)-based resin matrix. METHODS: Three experimental light-curable E-glass fiber reinforced groups(Exper1, Exper2, Exper3; n=18) with different UEDMA contents in the resin matrix were prepared. The control group had a bis-GMA-based resin matrix(n=18). After preparation and light curing, the specimens were stored in dry condition for 24h or in deionized water at 37C for 1 and 3months. Service quality in airport hotel chains through the lens of online reviewers

Airport hotel chains target the specific and important segment of accommodation near airports, thus benefiting from travelers seeking to stay near an airport. This study addresses service quality by analyzing TripAdvisor online reviews over units from both a high-end and a low-end chain in five European cities (Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Paris). Using text mining and topic modeling, ten heat matrices were drawn (one per unit) to summarize the main services characterizing the computed topics. Seven hypotheses grounded on existing literature were tested, from which some interesting findings emerged (e.g., related to transfer services, staff, food and beverage, cleanliness, and punctuality). This study contributes to the standardization versus adaptation debate by unveiling a globalized strategy in staff management and breakfast services, while bar services adopt a localized strategy. Schistosoma mansoni infection impairs reproduction in mice

AIM: To study the effect of S. mansoni infection in fertility using a mouse model. BACKGROUND: - Our group is listed in the Top 10 most publishing authors in the field of schistosomiasis as a cause of infertility; - Estrogen-like molecules produced by schistosomes haematobia and mansoni induce hormonal imbalances in infected persons; - These estrogenic metabolites down-regulate Estrogen Receptor in an in vitro model; - We have identified these estrogenic metabolites as catechol-estrogens (oxidative metabolites derived from estrogens); - These catechol-estrogens were found to be associated with infertility in women infected with S. haematobium.N/
