Podstawowe problemy realizacji i eksploatacji śródmiejskiego zespołu wysokich budynków mieszkalnych na przykładzie Śródmiejskiej Dzielnicy Mieszkaniowej w Łodzi

Artykuł niniejszy jest pierwszą publikacją z planowanej serii opracowań poświęconych specyficznym problemom realizacji i eksploatacji zespołów śródmiejskiej zabudowy mieszkaniowej. Ukazano w nim, na tle podstawowych problemów teoretycznych struktury funkcjonalno- -przestrzennej dzielnic śródmiejskich oraz roli jaką w jej ramach mają do spełnienia wysokie budynki mieszkalne, kilka zasadniczych problemów osiedli tego rodzaju na przykładzie sektora „B" Śródmiejskiej Dzielnicy Mieszkaniowej w Łodzi. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zagadnienie wysokości i struktury nakładów inwestycyjnych w porównaniu z typowymi osiedlami mieszkaniowymi. Analizie poddano skład socjalny lokatorów. Does the New Industrial Strategy for Europe Follow the Path of the Concept of Industry 4.0?

The concept of Industry 4.0 turns 10 years old in 2021. This milestone calls for renewed inquiries to review the current efforts of the European Union (EU) and its Member States towards the modernisation of European industry. In 2018, the European Commission published the Digital Transformation Scoreboard 2018: EU businesses go digital: Opportunities, outcomes and uptake, which reports on the readiness for the digital revolution focused on building an economy in line with the concept of Industry 4.0 at three levels: European, national, and business. This study shows how much still remains to be done. At the same time, it identifies some of the key elements contributing to the success in this area, i.e., the digitisation of machines, Big Data, robotics and artifi cial intelligence, which represent the very essence of the idea of revolution 4.0. The aim of the paper is to determine the extent to which the new strategy for industry proposed by the European Commission in 2020 follows the concept of Industry 4.0. Quantitative and qualitative research methods were used. Statistical analysis was used to demonstrate the importance of industry in the economy of the European Union between 1998 and 2019 in terms of the share in the added value created and the signifi cance for the labour market. The descriptive methods used include a review of the literature and research on the concept of Industry 4.0 and an analysis of the latest strategic documents of the European Commission (EC) in relation to industrial policy

Comprehensive recommendations for improving the healthcare experience of transgender and gender-expansive individuals

This paper presents a comprehensive summary of the literature surrounding transgender primary and preventive healthcare and recommendations for professional medical staff and researchers. The public health significance of this issue is that there are an estimated 1.2 million transgender adults living in the United States at the time of this research. Formal epidemiological measurements of the population as well as the incidence and prevalence of gender dysphoria throughout the life course are missing from the literature. Transgender patients face a unique combination of healthcare access barriers and therefore are less likely than the general population to seek treatment. Access barriers include personal attitudes and beliefs, interpersonal interactions resulting in discrimination, and structural barriers such as lack of insurance coverage. Delays in primary and preventive medical care are associated with poorer health outcomes across all populations. Because of their unique vulnerabilities, transgender patients require medical care that is comprehensive and sensitive to the needs of individuals who are transgender. Rigorous research and improved medical practices can offset the minority stress and associated medical concerns faced by this community in the long-term

Contracts as regulation:The ISDA Master Agreement

This article proposes a rule of contractual interpretation for regulatory contracts defined as contracts (i) used by a large number of market participants, (ii) subject to limitations on deviation and (iii) designed with market problems (such as negative externalities) in addition to transactional problems (such as transaction costs) in mind. The rule states that the outcome of the interpretation of regulatory contracts must not be inconsistent with the objectives of the regulatory framework applicable to the market in which the contract is used. The article suggests that the reliance on that rule is normatively justified in cases where the regulatory objectives are clearly defined and particularly when the alternative outcome is to void the contract or its provision. By adopting the regulatory rule for contract interpretation, courts can preserve the autonomy of private regulatory regimes created through contracts without sacrificing public policy objectives. Several examples of the application of the rule to the interpretation of selected provisions of the ISDA Master Agreement and the ISDA Credit Definitions are discussed
