Background: Toxoplasmosis seroprevalence in antenatal women has remained a contentious issue in Indian subcontinent. Bad obstetric history (BOH) is specific to women of childbearing age and can be caused by infection with Toxoplama gondii. In Jharkhand, scarce data exist for the roles of toxoplasmosis in the aetiology of adverse pregnancy outcome. Aim: To study the sero-epidemiology of Toxoplasmosis and associated risk factors among antenatal women attending antenatal clinic of a tertiary care hospital in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Methods: A case-control study was conducted on antenatal women attending antenatal clinic from the June 2010 to May 2011. The study group comprised 102 antenatal women of with BOH while the control group comprised 102 multiparous, age-matched antenatal women without BOH. Latex Slide agglutination test for antibodies to T.gondii was utilized. The research was approved by institutional ethical committee. Descriptive and inferential statistics was applied. Results: The overall seroprevalence of T.gondii among antenatal women was 15.19%, with significantly more in women with BOH (24.50%) as compared to women without BOH (5.88%). The seroprevalence in women with BOH gradually increased with advancing age: 8.33% in age less than 20 years to 50% in women older than 30 years. The seroprevalence increased steadily with number of BOH: 9.67% in women with one BOH to 37.50% in women with three or more BOH. Risk factors like Illiteracy, rural residence, owning a cat and non-veg dietary habit showed significant association. Conclusions: The seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis is high among antenatal women with BOH. Routine serological test is recommended for all pregnant women with BOH

The human cytomegalovirus (CMV) is one of the common viral infections worldwide that represent a major causes of congenital infections. To determine the seroprevalence of CMV in women with bad obstetric history and sociodemographic characteristics that may influence the seropositivity, a case control descriptive prospective study was conducted in Kirkuk, Iraq. A 838 women with age range from 14 to 48 were included in the study. Of the total, 547 women were with bad obstetric history(BOH) and 291 women with normal previous pregnancy as control group. All the serum samples collected from the study and control groups were tested for CMV IgM and IgG antibodies by ELISA kits. CMV IgM seroprevalence was higher in women with BOH. CMV IgG seroprevalence was with no significant difference between BOH and control. CMV IgG seroprevalence significantly influenced by age, education, smoking, and family size. However, CMV IgM seroprevalence significantly associated with pregnancy, residence, and animal exposure. Odd ratio confirmed the association between CMV IgG and age, crowding index, residence, smoking, and number of abortion in women with BOH. In addition, current CMV infection significantly associated with residence in women with BOH

Background: The death of an infant, in utero or after birth has been a devastating experience for parents and clinicians alike. Various efforts are being made to make an accurate diagnosis of such pregnancy losses at the earliest to prevent the emotional and physical stress that the woman undergoes. This study aims to assess the changing trends in risk factors and outcome of pregnancies in cases of bad obstetric history (BOH) and to identify the newly emerging maternal and fetal factors contributing to incidence of pregnancy loss. Methods: This study is a retrospective analysis of antenatal women with BOH attending the obstetrics and gynecology OPD at Chettinad hospital. The study was conducted during a time period of 1 year (May 2019 to May 2020).Results: The medical complications and underlying causes for BOH were analysed among the study group. Out of 41 women, 6 were diagnosed to have gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), 8 were found to be hypertensive and 1 APLA positive. Neonatal mortality was encountered in 2 cases, attributing to Inborn error of metabolism. However, the cause for BOH remained unexplained in 3 individuals. Conclusions: A full work-up can be initiated after two consecutive losses to identify and treat the various causes responsible for BOH. Lot of further studies and research are being conducted to unravel the mystery in these cases. Despite these efforts, the male factors contributing to recurrent pregnancy loss have remained largely unexplored

Using characteristics inclusive of employment, Grade point average and career orientation; either front of house (Academic) or back of house (vocational) ,the Educational Satisfaction with Curriculum Index is designed to measure the satisfaction numerically of hotel and Restaurant management students at New York City Technical College (NYCTC) where students, regardless of career orientation, are required to complete both sets of courses (front and back of house.) This requirement is referred to as cross-curriculum training. FoH students scored greater satisfaction on BoH courses than FoH courses. The same was true of BoH students as they scored1 higher on FoH courses than BoH courses. Employed students scored lower than unemployed students. Finally, students with a GPA greater than 3 . 0 scored higher than those below 3.0
