Single spin asymmetries in the Drell-Yan process
We discuss single transverse spin asymmetries in the Drell-Yan process
originating from so-called gluonic poles in twist-three hadronic matrix
elements, as first considered by Qiu and Sterman. Even though time-reversal
invariance is not broken, the effects of such poles cannot be distinguished
from those of time-reversal odd distribution functions. We show the connection
between gluonic poles and large distance gluon fields, in particular we focus
on boundary conditions. We identify the possible single spin asymmetries in the
Drell-Yan process.Comment: 10 pages, Latex, 4 Postscript figure, uses epsfig.sty. Invited talk

Supersymmetry and LHC
The motivation for introduction of supersymmetry in high energy physics as
well as a possibility for supersymmetry discovery at LHC (Large Hadronic
Collider) are discussed. The main notions of the Minimal Supersymmetric
Standard Model (MSSM) are introduced. Different regions of parameter space are
analyzed and their phenomenological properties are compared. Discovery
potential of LHC for the planned luminosity is shown for different channels.
The properties of SUSY Higgs bosons are studied and perspectives of their
observation at LHC are briefly outlined.Comment: Lectures given at the 9th Moscow International School of Physics

A gobal fit to the anomalous magnetic moment, Higgs limit and b->s gamma in the constrained MSSM
New data on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon together with the b->s
gamma decay rate and Higgs limits are considered within the supergravity
inspired constrained minimal supersymmetric model. We perform a global
statistical chi2 analysis of these data and show that the allowed region of
parameter space is bounded from below by the Higgs limit, which depends on the
trilinear coupling and from above by the anomalous magnetic moment.Comment: 3 pages, To appear in Proc. of SUSY01, Dubna (Russia
Double transverse spin asymmetries in vector boson production
We investigate a helicity non-flip double transverse spin asymmetry in vector
boson production in hadron-hadron scattering, which was first considered by
Ralston and Soper at the tree level. It does not involve transversity functions
and in principle also arises in W-boson production for which we present the
expressions. The asymmetry requires observing the transverse momentum of the
vector boson, but it is not suppressed by explicit inverse powers of a large
energy scale. However, as we will show, inclusion of Sudakov factors causes
suppression of the asymmetry, which increases with energy. Moreover, the
asymmetry is shown to be approximately proportional to x_1 g_1(x_1) x_2 \bar
g_1(x_2), which gives rise to additional suppression at small values of the
light cone momentum fractions. This implies that it is negligible for Z or W
production and is mainly of interest for \gamma^* at low energies. We also
compare the asymmetry with other types of double transverse spin asymmetries
and discuss how to disentangle them.Comment: 12 pages, Revtex, 2 Postscript figures, uses aps.sty, epsf.sty;

Single transverse-spin asymmetry in Drell-Yan lepton angular distribution
We calculate a single transverse-spin asymmetry for the Drell-Yan
lepton-pair's angular distribution in perturbative QCD. At leading order in the
strong coupling constant, the asymmetry is expressed in terms of a twist-3
quark-gluon correlation function T_F^{(V)}(x_1,x_2). In our calculation, the
same result was obtained in both light-cone and covariant gauge in QCD, while
keeping explicit electromagnetic current conservation for the virtual photon
that decays into the lepton pair. We also present a numerical estimate of the
asymmetry and compare the result to an existing other prediction.Comment: 15 pages, Revtex, 5 Postscript figures, uses aps.sty, epsfig.st
