The aim of this study was to discover the potentialities that storytelling as a communication technique could have in the relationship that a customer has with the brand, and thus the involvement of the consumer with this brand. It was decided to collaborate with the Poliziano winery located in Montepulciano, Italy, as the author noted an absence of studies correlating the use of storytelling to a winery. More specifically, an attempt was made to investigate the implementation of this tool in its online format, as this channel is now also strongly consolidated in the wine sector. To achieve this goal, the author interviewed some of the winery's managers in order to obtain more information and knowledge about the winery and its market. In addition, the author carried out further research with the aim of measuring the use of storytelling in the main online platforms of 6 wineries in Italy. The analysis of the results allowed the author to design a brand story that could represent the company, its mission, and its values, and thanks to the research carried out on the wine market in the world and in Italy, it was possible to provide suggestions and indications for a possible implementation of this story in the company's digital communication strategy. This thesis therefore proposes itself as a bridge between storytelling and the online communication of wineries and opens the discussion towards the possibility of implementing this technique also in other types of companies producing products similar to wine and not only.O objetivo deste estudo era descobrir as potencialidades que o storytelling (enquanto técnica de comunicação) poderia ter na relação que um cliente tem com uma marca e, portanto, o envolvimento do consumidor com esta marca.

Adaptive data synchronization algorithm for IoT-oriented low-power wide-area networks

The Internet of Things (IoT) is by now very close to be realized, leading the world towards a new technological era where people’s lives and habits will be definitively revolutionized. Furthermore, the incoming 5G technology promises significant enhancements concerning the Quality of Service (QoS) in mobile communications. Having billions of devices simultaneously connected has opened new challenges about network management and data exchange rules that need to be tailored to the characteristics of the considered scenario. A large part of the IoT market is pointing to Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWANs) representing the infrastructure for several applications having energy saving as a mandatory goal besides other aspects of QoS. In this context, we propose a low-power IoT-oriented file synchronization protocol that, by dynamically optimizing the amount of data to be transferred, limits the device level of interaction within the network, therefore extending the battery life. This protocol can be adopted with different Layer 2 technologies and provides energy savings at the IoT device level that can be exploited by different applications

ASK-based spatial multiplexing RGB scheme using symbol-dependent self-interference for detection

We propose a vsible light communication scheme utilizing red, green and blue lightemitting diodes (LEDs) and three color-Tuned photodiodes. Amplitude shift keying modulation is considered, and its effect on light emission in terms of flickering, dimming, and color rendering is discussed. The presence of interference at each photodiode generated by the other two colors is used to improve detection since interference is symbol-dependent. Moreover, the capability of the photodiodes to follow the LEDs speed is considered by analyzing the possibility of equalizing the received signal, and also self-interference mitigation is proposed. The system performance is evaluated both with computer simulations and tests on an Arduino board implementation

On the Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff Theorem: non-convergence and prolongation issues

We investigate some topics related to the celebrated Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff Theorem: a non-convergence result and prolongation problems. Given a Banach algebra A with identity I, and given X and Y in A, we study the relationship of different issues: the convergence of the BCH series 11_n Z_n(X, Y), the existence of a logarithm of e^Xe^Y, and the convergence of the Mercator-type series 11_n (-1)^(n+1) (e^X e^Y - I)^n/n which provides a selected logarithm of e^X e^Y. We fix general results, among which we provide a non-convergence result for the BCH series, and (by suitable matrix counterexamples) we show that various pathologies can occur. These are related to some recent results, of interest in physics, on closed formulas for the BCH series: while the sum of the BCH series presents several non-convergence issues, these closed formulas can provide a prolongation for the BCH series when it is not convergent. On the other hand, we show by suitable counterexamples that an analytic prolongation of the BCH series can be singular even if the BCH series itself is convergent

The Role of HDACs Inhibitors in Childhood and Adolescence Acute Leukemias

Acute leukemia is the most common type of childhood and adolescence cancer, characterized by clonal proliferation of variably differentiated myeloid or lymphoid precursors. Recent insights into the molecular pathogenesis of leukemia have shown that epigenetic modifications, such as deacetylation of histones and DNA methylation, play crucial roles in leukemogenesis, by transcriptional silencing of critical genes. Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are potential targets in the treatment of leukaemia, and, as a consequence, inhibitors of HDACs (HDIs) are being studied for therapeutic purposes. HDIs promote or enhance several different anticancer mechanisms, such as apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and cellular differentiation and, therefore, are in evidence as promising treatment for children and adolescents with acute leukemia, in monotherapy or in association with other anticancer drugs. Here we review the main preclinical and clinical studies regarding the use of HDIs in treating childhood and adolescence leukemia
