INTELLIGENT CACHE FARMING ARCHITECTURE WITH THE RECOMMENDER SYSTEM

The Quality of Services (QoS) guaranteed by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) is an important factor for users’ satisfaction in using the Internet. The implementation of the web proxy caching has been implemented to support this objective and also support the security procedure of the organizations. However, the success of guaranteeing the QoS of each ISP must be depended on the cache size and efficient caching policy. This paper proposes a new architecture of cache farming with the recommender system concept to manage users’ requirements. This solution helps reducing the retrieval time and also increasing the hit rate although the number of users increases without expanding the size of caches in the farm

Molecular epidemiology of gibbon hepatitis B virus transmission

Although transmission of human hepatitis B virus (HBV) variants to nonhuman primates is well documented, it remains to be elucidated whether nonhuman primate HBV is transmissible to humans. The prevalence and transmission routes of gibbon HBV were analysed in 101 captive gibbons in Thailand. Approximately 40 % of these animals showed at least one marker of HBV infection; 19 animals were chronic HBV carriers, characterized by elevated levels of alanine amino transferase and the presence of HBV DNA. Some of the chronic animals were found to be anti-HBc (HBV core antigen) negative (4 of 19), while precore promoter point mutations (nt 1762 or 1764) were determined in four animals by RFLP analysis. Phylogenetic tree analysis of the complete surface gene sequences revealed that gibbon viruses clustered separately from hepadnaviruses of other hosts. Evidence for horizontal and vertical transmission in captive gibbons was obtained. HBV DNA was also detected in the saliva of HBV carrier gibbons. Although some of the animal caretakers at the Krabok Koo Wildlife Breeding Centre were found to be chronic HBV carriers, genotype and sequence analysis did not reveal any evidence for zoonotic disease transmission

Virus Identification in Unknown Tropical Febrile Illness Cases Using Deep Sequencing

Dengue virus is an emerging infectious agent that infects an estimated 50–100 million people annually worldwide, yet current diagnostic practices cannot detect an etiologic pathogen in ∼40% of dengue-like illnesses. Metagenomic approaches to pathogen detection, such as viral microarrays and deep sequencing, are promising tools to address emerging and non-diagnosable disease challenges. In this study, we used the Virochip microarray and deep sequencing to characterize the spectrum of viruses present in human sera from 123 Nicaraguan patients presenting with dengue-like symptoms but testing negative for dengue virus. We utilized a barcoding strategy to simultaneously deep sequence multiple serum specimens, generating on average over 1 million reads per sample. We then implemented a stepwise bioinformatic filtering pipeline to remove the majority of human and low-quality sequences to improve the speed and accuracy of subsequent unbiased database searches. By deep sequencing, we were able to detect virus sequence in 37% (45/123) of previously negative cases. These included 13 cases with Human Herpesvirus 6 sequences. Other samples contained sequences with similarity to sequences from viruses in the Herpesviridae, Flaviviridae, Circoviridae, Anelloviridae, Asfarviridae, and Parvoviridae families. In some cases, the putative viral sequences were virtually identical to known viruses, and in others they diverged, suggesting that they may derive from novel viruses. These results demonstrate the utility of unbiased metagenomic approaches in the detection of known and divergent viruses in the study of tropical febrile illness

An Agent-Based Design Software: A CSCW Model for Software Design Tool

Abstract- A technique called as Computer Supported Cooperative Work or CSCW is a technique to support communications among people. This research presents the architecture of an agent-based software that is applied as the analysis and design tool during the analysis and design processes. This tool allows communications among development team members, and automatically records all conversations related to the designed diagrams. The communication modules perform both synchronize and asynchronize mechanisms to gain the efficiency and security while the communication occurs. The concept of implementing separated databases for different class of users has been proposed as a method for data security control. Various modules such as Discussion Module (DM) have been implemented to enhance the quality assurance for software development processes under the CSCW environment. The result of this proposed architecture is recorded details that can be used as a quality control document and a maintenance document. Keywords: Agent-based architecture, communication channel, computer supported cooperative work, understandability.

Automatic detection and correction of programming faults for software applications

Software reliability is an important feature of a good software implementation. However some faults which cause software unreliability are not detected during the development stages, and these faults create unexpected problems for users whenever they arise. At present most of the current techniques detect faults while a software is running. These techniques interrupt the software process when a fault occurs, and require some forms of restart. In this paper Precompiled Fault Detection (PFD) technique is proposed to detect and correct faults before a source code is compiled. The objective of the PFD technique is to increase software reliability without increasing the programmers' responsibilities. The concepts of ‘‘pre-compilation’’ and ‘‘pattern matching’’ are applied to PFD in order to reduce the risk of significant damage during execution period. This technique can completely eliminate the significant faults in a software and thus, improves software reliability
