    Hamartoma Breast, Chondromatous Type.

    Get PDF
This case report describes an exceedingly rare case of hamartoma of breast with predominantly chondroid stroma. A 45 year old lady presented with a mobile lump in the upper outer quadrant of left breast, clinically diagnosed as fibroadenoma. Mammography and FNAC were not done. She underwent lumpectomy and we received the specimen measuring 7x5x3cm. Cut surface of which revealed grey white nodule with glistening surface. Histopathologically we found a circumscribed lesion with predominantly mature hyaline cartilage separated by fibrocollagenous bands

Subsonic investigations of vortex interaction control for enhanced high-alpha aerodynamics of a chine forebody/Delta wing configuration

    Get PDF
A proposed concept to alleviate high alpha asymmetry and lateral/directional instability by decoupling of forebody and wing vortices was studied on a generic chine forebody/ 60 deg. delta configuration in the NASA Langley 7 by 10 foot High Speed Tunnel. The decoupling technique involved inboard leading edge flaps of varying span and deflection angle. Six component force/moment characteristics, surface pressure distributions and vapor-screen flow visualizations were acquired, on the basic wing-body configuration and with both single and twin vertical tails at M sub infinity = 0.1 and 0.4, and in the range alpha = 0 to 50 deg and beta = -10 to +10 degs. Results are presented which highlight the potential of vortex decoupling via leading edge flaps for enhanced high alpha lateral/directional characteristics

An algorithm for quantifying dependence in multivariate data sets

We describe an algorithm to quantify dependence in a multivariate data set. The algorithm is able to identify any linear and non-linear dependence in the data set by performing a hypothesis test for two variables being independent. As a result we obtain a reliable measure of dependence. In high energy physics understanding dependencies is especially important in multidimensional maximum likelihood analyses. We therefore describe the problem of a multidimensional maximum likelihood analysis applied on a multivariate data set with variables that are dependent on each other. We review common procedures used in high energy physics and show that general dependence is not the same as linear correlation and discuss their limitations in practical application. Finally we present the tool CAT, which is able to perform all reviewed methods in a fully automatic mode and creates an analysis report document with numeric results and visual review.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

DALES: Automated Tool for Detection, Annotation, Labelling and Segmentation of Multiple Objects in Multi-Camera Video Streams

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a new software tool called DALES to extract semantic information from multi-view videos based on the analysis of their visual content. Our system is fully automatic and is well suited for multi-camera environment. Once the multi-view video sequences are loaded into DALES, our software performs the detection, counting, and segmentation of the visual objects evolving in the provided video streams. Then, these objects of interest are processed in order to be labelled, and the related frames are thus annotated with the corresponding semantic content. Moreover, a textual script is automatically generated with the video annotations. DALES system shows excellent performance in terms of accuracy and computational speed and is robustly designed to ensure view synchronization

Dividend Behaviour of Indian Companies Under Monetary Policy Restrictions

    Get PDF
In this study we examine the dividend behaviour of Indian companies. We use GMM estimator, which is the most suitable methodology in a dynamic setting. Our results show that the Indian firms have lower target ratios and higher adjustment factors. The most significant result is that the restricted monetary policies have significant influence on the dividend behaviour of Indian firms, causing about 5-6 percent reduction in the payout ratios. The significance of macro economic policy variable suggest that monetary policy restrictions do have impact on cost of raising funds, and the information asymmetry between lenders and borrowers increases that forces companies to reduce their dividend payout.

A Rare Presentation of Crohn's Disease

    Get PDF
Free peritoneal perforation is a rare complication of Crohn's disease with a report of only 100 cases in the literature. It needs an emergency exploration and an unaware general surgeon is confounded in intraoperative decision-making. We present our experience when this rarity struck us in a district hospital and briefly review the guidelines of optimal management of this complication of Crohn's disease
