Comparison of the resistance to cavitation and abrasive wear of deposited layers prepared from steels 06X19H9T and Fe-Cr-Ti-Al

The resistance of deposited layers to cavitation erosion and abrasive wear was evaluated for the steels AISI 321 (known as 06X19H9T manufactured according to the Russian standard GOST 18143-72) and Fe-Cr-Ti-Al (two materials namely Ural AS-3 and PPM-6). The Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW or TIG) process was utilized to deposit these welding material wires onto a medium carbon steel substrate AISI 1040. Cavitation test was conducted by using ultrasonic vibratory method to induce the erosion. In addition, a three-body abrasion test was used to evaluate the resistance of the studied materials to abrasive wear. The material loss criterion and wear rate of each material as a function to testing time were evaluated and discussed. The cavitation and abrasive wear tests have shown similar results regarding the PPM-6 steel. Among the tested material, PPM-6 exhibited the better resistance to cavitation and abrasion. The 06X19H9T stainless steel exhibited a higher resistance to cavitation comparing with the Ural AS-3. With respect to the abrasive wear, Ural AS-3 was to some degree better than the 06X19H9T in resistance to abrasion. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology, FASIE: 0035960This work was done within the state order of IMP UB RAS on the subject no. Very high frequency gravitational wave background in the universe

Astrophysical sources of high frequency gravitational radiation are considered in association with a new interest to very sensitive HFGW receivers required for the laboratory GW Hertz experiment. A special attention is paid to the phenomenon of primordial black holes evaporation. They act like black body to all kinds of radiation, including gravitons, and, therefore, emit an equilibrium spectrum of gravitons during its evaporation. Limit on the density of high frequency gravitons in the Universe is obtained, and possibilities of their detection are briefly discussed.Comment: 14 page

Research of morphofunctional properties that indicate intensity of liver injury when performing cold plasma hemostasis. The operation is an atypical resection of liver left lobe with cold plasma hemostasis. It is performed on white rats. There are a biochemical blood analysis, histological study and MRI-scanning in late period. Morphofunctional changes on the 90th and 180th day are described in the issue.

The Global Burden of Alveolar Echinococcosis

Human alveolar echinococcosis (AE), caused by the larval stage of the fox tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis, is amongst the world's most dangerous zoonoses. Transmission to humans is by consumption of parasite eggs which are excreted in the faeces of the definitive hosts: foxes and, increasingly, dogs. Transmission can be through contact with the definitive host or indirectly through contamination of food or possibly water with parasite eggs. We made an intensive search of English, Russian, Chinese and other language databases. We targeted data which could give country specific incidence or prevalence of disease and searched for data from every country we believed to be endemic for AE. We also used data from other sources (often unpublished). From this information we were able to make an estimate of the annual global incidence of disease and disease burden using standard techniques for calculation of DALYs. Our studies suggest that AE results in a median of 18,235 cases globally with a burden of 666,433 DALYs per annum. This is the first estimate of the global burden of AE both in terms of global incidence and DALYs and demonstrates the burden of AE is comparable to several diseases in the neglected tropical disease cluster

Erratum to the paper “Methods of Blood Flow Modelling”

    No full text
This review is devoted to recent developments in blood flow modelling. It begins with the discussion of blood rheology and its non-Newtonian properties. After that we will present some modelling methods where blood is considered as a heterogeneous fluid composed of plasma and blood cells. Namely, we will describe the method of Dissipative Particle Dynamics and will present some results of blood flow modelling. The last part of this paper deals with one-dimensional global models of blood circulation. We will explain the main ideas of this approach and will present some examples of its application
