Electric circuit networks equivalent to chaotic quantum billiards
We formulate two types of electric RLC resonance network equivalent to
quantum billiards. In the network of inductors grounded by capacitors squared
resonant frequencies are eigenvalues of the quantum billiard. In the network of
capacitors grounded by inductors squared resonant frequencies are given by
inverse eigen values of the billiard. In both cases local voltages play role of
the wave function of the quantum billiard. However as different from quantum
billiards there is a heat power because of resistance of the inductors. In the
equivalent chaotic billiards we derive the distribution of the heat power which

Non-Simplified SUSY: Stau-Coannihilation at LHC and ILC
If new phenomena beyond the Standard Model will be discovered at the LHC, the
properties of the new particles could be determined with data from the
High-Luminosity LHC and from a future linear collider like the ILC. We discuss
the possible interplay between measurements at the two accelerators in a
concrete example, namely a full SUSY model which features a small stau_1-LSP
mass difference. Various channels have been studied using the Snowmass 2013
combined LHC detector implementation in the Delphes simulation package, as well
as simulations of the ILD detector concept from the Technical Design Report. We
investigate both the LHC and ILC capabilities for discovery, separation and
identification of various parts of the spectrum. While some parts would be
discovered at the LHC, there is substantial room for further discoveries at the
ILC. We finally highlight examples where the precise knowledge about the lower
part of the mass spectrum which could be acquired at the ILC would enable a
more in-depth analysis of the LHC data with respect to the heavier states.Comment: 42 pages, 18 figures, 12 table
Taxonomy, Biostratigraphy and Phylogeny of Eocene Acarinina
The taxonomy, phylogeny and biostratigraphic ranges of 28 Eocene species of Acarinina are discussed together with detailed synonymies. The early Eocene is characterized by the radiation of two different groups - one characterized by rounded/inflated chambers and the other by anguloconical chambers - which are derived, in turn, from two late Paleocene lineages: the soldadoensis lineage (itself derived from Acarinina mckannai) and the esnaensis-wilcoxensis lineage (itself derived from Acarinina nitida). We interpret the genus Truncorotaloides as a synonym of Acarinina. Acarinina is regarded as paraphyletic, in that it gave rise to Morozovelloides Pearson and Berggren n. gen. in the upper part of the lower Eocene (see Pearson and Berggren Chapter 10, this volume).

How much larger quantum correlations are than classical ones
Considering as distance between two two-party correlations the minimum number
of half local results one party must toggle in order to turn one correlation
into the other, we show that the volume of the set of physically obtainable
correlations in the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen-Bell scenario is (3 pi/8)^2 = 1.388
larger than the volume of the set of correlations obtainable in local
deterministic or probabilistic hidden-variable theories, but is only 3 pi^2/32
= 0.925 of the volume allowed by arbitrary causal (i.e., no-signaling)

Kinetic-inductance-limited reset time of superconducting nanowire photon counters
We investigate the recovery of superconducting NbN-nanowire photon counters
after detection of an optical pulse at a wavelength of 1550 nm, and present a
model that quantitatively accounts for our observations. The reset time is
found to be limited by the large kinetic inductance of these nanowires, which
forces a tradeoff between counting rate and either detection efficiency or
active area. Devices of usable size and high detection efficiency are found to
have reset times orders of magnitude longer than their intrinsic photoresponse

Electron focusing, mode spectroscopy and mass enhancement in small GaAs/AlGaAs rings
A new electron focusing effect has been discovered in small single and
coupled GaAs/AlGaAs rings. The focusing in the single ring is attributed solely
to internal orbits. The focusing effect allows the ring to be used as a small
mass spectrometer. The focusing causes peaks in the magnetoresistance at low
fields, and the peak positions were used to study the dispersion relation of
the one-dimensional magnetoelectric subbands. The electron effective mass
increases with the applied magnetic field by a factor of , at a magnetic
field of . This is the first time this increase has been measured
directly. General agreement obtains between the experiment and the subband

We propose a simple method for the deterministic generation of an arbitrary
continuous quantum state of the center-of-mass of an atom. The method's spatial
resolution gradually increases with the interaction time with no apparent
fundamental limitations. Such de-Broglie Wave-Front Engineering of the atomic
density can find applications in Atom Lithography, and we discuss possible
