N-[(2-Chloro-8-methyl­quinolin-3-yl)meth­yl]-4-meth­oxy­aniline

In the title compound, C18H17ClN2O, the quinoline ring system is essentially planar; the r.m.s. deviation for the non-H atoms is 0.04 Å with a maximum deviation from the mean plane of 0.026 (4) Å for the C atom bonded to the –CH2– group. The meth­oxy-substituted benzene ring forms a dihedral angle of 70.22 (4)° with this ring system. The crystal structure can be described as zigzag layers in which the quinoline ring systems are parallel to (011) and molecules are connected via inter­molecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [100]. The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.86 (5):0.14 (5) domain ratio

In the title compound, C11H10ClN3O, the quinoline ring system is essentially planar, the r.m.s. deviation for the non-H atoms being 0.014 (2) Å with a maximum deviation from the mean plane of 0.0206 (14) Å for the C atom bonded to the –CH—N=NH2 group. In the crystal, molecules are linked via N—H⋯O and N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming zigzag layers parallel to (010)

La proportionnalité, un concept complexe ?

Professorat des écoles" Deux suites de nombres réels (ayant le même nombre de termes) sont proportionnelles si on peut passer de chaque terme de la première suite au terme correspondant de la deuxième par un même opérateur multiplicatif ". Que se passe-t-il donc sous l’apparente simplicité de cette définition qui ne reflète en rien le malaise ressenti par les acteurs de l’école lorsqu’on évoque la proportionnalité ? Comment se fait-il que ce concept, qui semble pourtant germer sous la forme d’une perception intuitive dès 7 ou 8 ans, pose encore tant de problèmes bien des années plus tard ? En tentant de répondre à cette question nous avons voulu montrer que la complexité ne résidait peut-être pas là où on l’attendait : la proportionnalité s’inscrit avant tout dans un environnement. Celui-ci est constitué par des langages, des cadres, des situations, des grandeurs extrêmement variés. La proportionnalité n’est peut-être finalement qu’un concept simple noyé dans des paysages parfois peu familier
