Ethics in Islamic Economics
The purpose of this contribution is to shed some light on the inter-relationships
between ethics and economics in Islamic religion, and mainly to assert that ethics
constitute endogenous phenomena in Islamic economics. In Islam, economic behaviours
and transactions cannot be separated from ethics and values. The Islamic
principles are intended to govern, direct and control human beings’ behaviours in
their daily economic lives. They are aimed at helping people to distinguish between
good and bad things while they do any economic activity.
It is worth noting that the moral values in Islamic economics are derived
from the main sources of Islam namely: the Quran (the holy book of Islamic religion)
and Sunnah (the teachings and behaviours of the prophet of Islam: Muhammad
PBUH 570-632 AD). Both of them represent the principal pillars of Shariah
(Islamic laws and guidelines), which is seen by Muslims as the proper way to
happiness, not only in economic life but in all aspects of life
Automatic Test Vector Generation for Mixed-Signal Circuits
Mixed circuit testing is known to be a very difficult task. This is due to the difficulty of: testing the analog part of the circuit, controlling the digital signal from the analog outputs, observing the analog outputs in the digital circuit, controlling the analog circuit from the digital outputs and observing the digital signals in the analog circuit. As a solution to these problems, we propose an automatic test vector generation for mixed circuits to perform functional testing. In this paper, a case of an analog block followed by a digital block is considered. The experimental results (simulation and discrete realization) show the efficiency of the automatic test generation technique. 1
TS-RGBD Dataset: a Novel Dataset for Theatre Scenes Description for People with Visual Impairments
Computer vision was long a tool used for aiding visually impaired people to
move around their environment and avoid obstacles and falls. Solutions are
limited to either indoor or outdoor scenes, which limits the kind of places and
scenes visually disabled people can be in, including entertainment places such
as theatres. Furthermore, most of the proposed computer-vision-based methods
rely on RGB benchmarks to train their models resulting in a limited performance
due to the absence of the depth modality.
In this paper, we propose a novel RGB-D dataset containing theatre scenes
with ground truth human actions and dense captions annotations for image
captioning and human action recognition: TS-RGBD dataset. It includes three
types of data: RGB, depth, and skeleton sequences, captured by Microsoft
Kinect.
We test image captioning models on our dataset as well as some skeleton-based
human action recognition models in order to extend the range of environment
types where a visually disabled person can be, by detecting human actions and
textually describing appearances of regions of interest in theatre scenes
La pratique de la contractualisation interne hospitalière: vers une nouvelle gestion publique
The interest of the internal contracting resides certainly in its use like instrument of administrative and financial regulation of the health, social and medico-social establishments, because it constitutes an element of technical and financial viability of a health mutual, but more still as a management and modernization tool.
Internal contracting is thus the mode that allows the matching between costs and quality in the hospital field; remaining the indispensable tool for the introduction and adaptation of new public management in public bodies
Structure and properties of polyamide 11 nanocomposites filled with fibrous palygorskite clay
Various amounts (up to 10 wt%) of palygorskite nanofibers functionalized by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) coupling agent were used to reinforce polyamide 11 nanocomposites prepared by melt compounding. The covalent bonding of the silane on the palygorskite surface was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. X-ray diffraction revealed the retention of the α-form of polyamide crystals upon the addition of both natural and silane treated palygorskite nanorods. All the investigated nanocomposites showed an improvement of the thermal stability, especially when surface treated palygorskite nanofibers were considered. Tensile tests and dynamic mechanical thermal analyses on the prepared materials evidenced how the incorporation of palygorskite nanofibers significantly increased the elastic and the storage moduli of polyamide, and this enhancement was more evident when natural palygorskite nanorods were used
Demand Forecasting Tool For Inventory Control Smart Systems
With the availability of data and the increasing capabilities of data processing tools, many businesses are leveraging historical sales and demand data to implement smart inventory management systems. Demand forecasting is the process of estimating the consumption of products or services for future time periods. It plays an important role in the field of inventory control and Supply Chain, since it enables production and supply planning and therefore can reduce delivery times and optimize Supply Chain decisions. This paper presents an extensive literature review about demand forecasting methods for time-series data. Based on analysis results and findings, a new demand forecasting tool for inventory control is proposed. First, a forecasting pipeline is designed to allow selecting the most accurate demand forecasting method. The validation of the proposed solution is executed on Stock&Buy case study, a growing online retail platform. For this reason, two new methods are proposed: (1) a hybrid method, Comb-TSB, is proposed for intermittent and lumpy demand patterns. Comb- TSB automatically selects the most accurate model among a set of methods. (2) a clustering-based approach (ClustAvg) is proposed to forecast demand for new products which have very few or no sales history data. The evaluation process showed that the proposed tool achieves good forecasting accuracy by making the most appropriate choice while defining the forecasting method to apply for each product selection
Perinatal-lethal Gaucher disease presenting as hydrops fetalis
Perinatal-lethal Gaucher disease is very rare and is considered a variant of type 2 Gaucher disease that occurs in the neonatal period. The most distinct features of perinatal-lethal Gaucher disease are non-immune hydrops fetalis. Less common signs of the disease are hepatosplenomegaly, ichthyosis and arthrogryposis. We report a case of Gaucher's disease (type 2) diagnosed in a newborn who presented with Hydrops Fetalis
