The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) is an ever-changing landscape that requires acquisition professionals to maintain vigilance over its climate. Ever since the mid-1990s, the DIB has shrunk substantially due to a variety of reasons. In this study, we focus on two Navy Auxiliary Systems: air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) and compressed air systems. Data gained through analysis of contracting history and from subject matter experts (SME) and in-service engineering agents (ISEA) are used to perform a sector by sector, tier by tier (S2T2) fragility and criticality (FaC) assessment of AC&R and compressed air systems. The assessment revealed that both AC&R and compressed air systems carry moderate risk. With both systems, it is important to avoid vendor lock with an aim to increase competition to optimize cost, schedule, and performance on future capabilities.Civilian, Department of the NavyApproved for public release. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá měřením provozu tepelného čerpadla vzduch-voda nekonvenční stavby, které je instalováno v rodinném domě. Dále pak vyhodnocením a srovnáním naměřených dat s tepelným čerpadlem vzduch-voda klasické stavby a následné posouzení ekonomické výhodnosti vlastní specifické stavby tepelného čerpadla. This thesis bachelor’s deals with the measurement of heat pump operation the air-water unconventional construction, which is installed in a family house. Furthermore, evaluating and comparing the measured data with a heat pump air-water standard of construction and subsequent assessment of the economic benefits of building their own specific heat pump.

As the second year of the Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness draws to a close, our graduating student intern, Moustafa Nassar, critically reflects on his distinct learning experience within his Averett University community and the wider local community to better understand how activism needs to be redefined inside and outside of the college campus. In a discussion of the role experiential learning, in the form of service-learning, volunteer work, and internships, played in his college career, he evaluates his new skills and direction as a result of his experiences

Referendum in theory and practice: the history of the Slovak referendums and their consequences

This article deals with the theory and practice of Slovak referendum. Special aim is concentrated on referendum in 1997 (held on NATO accession and on the direct election of the president of the Slovak Republic). Generally speaking referendums brought with a lot of problems. Their outcome was polarization of society and political elite. All Slovak referendums were unsuccessful (with the exception of last referendum – euro referendum in 2003). Concerning the consolidation of Slovak democracy referendums had a negative impact

Background: The aim of this research was to examine differences among two groups of girls, models and ballerinas (with risk factors – experimental group) and young students (control group), in body image preception, body mass index, neurotic perfectionism, body – image distortion and simptoms of eating disorders. Subjects and methods: The research was conducted with 91 participants divided in two groups, control group – 55 students at University of Sarajevo and experimental group – 13 professional ballerinas, 23 professional models. During this research work we used several measuring instruments: Body mass index; Body Mass Index – Silhouette Matching Test; Neurotic Perfectionism Questioner; Eating Disorders Inventory. Results: In this study statistically significant differences occur between these two groups of girls which are related to body – image perception and objective position on the body mass index chart. All 91 participants saw themselves as obese. Statistically significant differences occur in body – image distortion and simptoms of eating disorders in the experimental group, they have high scores on body – image distortion, on eating disorders inventory and neurotic perfectionism simptoms. Conclusion: Based on th results in this study, we may conclude that there are groups of people who have risk factors for developing some kind of eating disorder, so it would be desirable to create a preventive intervention for young ballerinas and models, but also for those people who coach them, trainers, instructors and managers. For other population groups with risky behavior such as young children, a prevention plan and modifications of cultural influences on people\u27s opinion of body image are extremly important
